Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

Lol, I did mine wrong then! I put butter in the bowl, poached some eggs to save faffing with the shell on boiled, I might try again tomorrow, it wasn't overly nice this morning!

Mlig · 26/01/2014 09:57

Which peanut butter is the one to get. I'm not intending in going fully off bootcamp, but I've been really fancying peanut butter so might get some as a treat

CrabbyWinterBottom · 26/01/2014 10:08

Steel if it's to do with fertility issues then at least you're not being called in be told you've got weeks left to live or something! Shock Hope it goes well, PCOS is a bugger. Sad

LittleMiss I made this chocolate torte before bootcamp started and it was absolutely GORGEOUS! I'm making it today for our lunch guests...

I did the almond pastry proportions from the Rose Elliot recipe. Blitz the ground almonds and butter in the food processor, then push it into the base of a fluted flan tin, and up the sides. As in the recipe, prick with a fork and bake at around 180degrees for about 20 mins until brown. Allow to cool.

Blitz 200g of 70/85% cocoa dark chocolate in the food processor with some vanilla if you've got some. If you've got vanilla essence, add it into the liquid. Heat 250ml double cream in a pan until just simmering, then add 25g butter and whisk. pour the cream onto the grated chocolate and whisk like buggery until all the chocolate is melted. Add a dash of port/brandy/whatever you fancy, whisk it some more, and pour the mixture into the pastry case. Chill in the fridge until you can't wait any longer to eat it!

Snowie sorry to hear about your DH.

Trashcan don't despair! List out what you've been eating.

Lovecat · 26/01/2014 10:09

Morning!

Snowie, hope everything's ok with you. YYY to looking after yourself as well. Thanks

Yesterday turned out quite well in the end, I had black coffee at the meeting and avoided all cakes/biscuits - someone I'd only seen last week commented I'd lost weight, so that was nice :) - cba to say low-carbing, just said cutting back and that wasn't questioned. Ridiculous, though, that we can't say just it without a huge hoohah and loads of concerned questions about health (the bloke who makes the biggest hoohah is a type II diabetic, grossly overweight, lives on wholemeal carbs, he can't make the link...).

We were in a cafe for lunch but they did an all day 'choose your own breakfast' so I had bacon, egg & mushroom and very nice it was too (although the waiter kept asking if I was sure I didn't want any toast, beans or hash browns!). Dinner was a 'what have I got at the back of the fridge' effort (shopping Monday) as I'd forgotten to prep the planned moussaka for the slow cooker that morning - had roasted peppers, tiny tomatoes, shallots, leeks, courgettes and halloumi with salad.

TOM arrived yesterday and quite unexpectedly so am wondering if that's why the scales haven't shifted but my shape has (not that I'm complaining!).

About to have a BPC and go out for my first C25K session. Meeting friends for lunch in a pub that I've not been to before, am hoping there will be something uncarby on the menu that I can swap chips out for salad with.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/01/2014 10:10

Morning :)

Looking forward to my gin this eve!

Have seemingly stalled over this last week, maybe a few ounces have gone but am honestly on the programme, just thinking it is one of those things.

From next week will be doing Bootcamp Hardcore in the week, Bootcamp lite at w/es (i.e. so I can have gin!)

Have a good day all

SnowieBear · 26/01/2014 10:18

I am a -wimp- looking after myself. Sconced in the car while DS takes a mud bath on the rugby field. Should be out there at the touchline but it's too cold and wet if you are not running around like a loon.

You lovely ladies are keeping me compay Smile.

Lovecat well done with your choices, I'm sure Sunday Lunch at a.pub will.pose no great problems, enjoy your shower (I mean RUN).

CrabbyWinterBottom · 26/01/2014 10:23

Well I am feeling more than a little hungover this morning after drinking all day yesterday. The wedding was amazing, really beautiful place and very well done must have cost a fucking fortune. It was lovely to see family members that I haven't seen for a few years.

I had crustless quiche lorraine before I went, then a few canapes, starter of salmon timbale, main of potted beef and carrots (didn't eat the potatoes), then polished off most of the delicious dessert, a sort of panna cotta type thing. We were drinking champagne from 3pm onwards, then wine with the meal, so vast quantities were consumed. I did drink loads and loads of water though (I think the staff were getting fed up with me asking for bottle after bottle Grin). We have friends over for lunch and a dog walk, the walk part is looking pretty unlikely as it's chucking it down out there. They're constructing a film set near us (Macbeth with Michael Fassbender) so I was going to take them there to have a look. Bloody rain. Sad

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 26/01/2014 10:25

I'm on track for a good loss this week, which will be great as it's my first proper week on bootcamp.

My shape has already changed dramatically, my big bloated belly has gone.

I had about a stone to lose and should have shifted a chunk this week. Smile

Still craving the salty stuff though. REALLY salty.

Crabby - wedding sounds lovely!

Snowie - hope DH is ok. If you are anything like me you will be ready to kill him soon. Or maybe he isn't like mine - was sofa bound once for a few days and had me driven demented with requests for cups of coffee and tea and snacks. And wanting to know what I did all day!

Mlig - sounds sensible - your chat with DH that is! And don't worry about running. If you want to do it - go for it. I almost finished C25K last year till my knees protested too much. Started running a size 20. Haven't done anything since October but am planning cross trainer and walking from tomorrow till I lose about a stone and a half when I will start C25k again. Hoping my knees will be better if I'm lighter when I start.

I had too much wine last night. Was planning weak white wine soda but opened a nice Sauvignon blanc instead! I also had a slice of Xmas cake in the afternoon. Nuts were also consumed. Scales still showing a loss so far. Back on track today. Currently starving waiting for the breakfast that DH is taking ages to cook.

Someone asked about constipation - try a magnesium supplement.

pippitysqueakity · 26/01/2014 10:54

Have followed closely, even resisted haggis yesterday, scales will not budge fom initial loss. I have had some pate, tis posh 1g stuff from Waitrose tho. Really tried to cut down on dairy, although have had some cheese. Only started on 13th surely too early for dreaded stall? Does this mean Wk 3 will see a gain?
Was interested in pp,s info re fatty liver. Will this woe help if that is an issue?

GatoradeMeBitch · 26/01/2014 11:11

2 eggs mashed with Philadelphia for breakfast. I don't have much left in the house now, and I'm a bit worried because I'll be out until evening, and may not get to eat till I get home. There's nothing I can instantly grab for. I'll have to plan my meal in my head and get straight on with cooking as soon as I get in.

GatoradeMeBitch · 26/01/2014 11:13

Ooh, no I found chipolatas in the salad drawers Smile They'll be quite easy to rustle up, with some fried cabbage or something, will plan it as I'm out.

bettybigballs · 26/01/2014 11:24

The fluffy pancakes on recipe thread are spectacular! I didn't want sweet so missed out the sweetener and addeda grating of Parmesan instead. Demolished with a knob of butter on top, so delicious.

What's everyone doing next week? Bootcamp light or staying on? I'm going to stay on I think. Got my period today and feeling hugely bloated and whale like.

Will def be more than I was last week but I do know it's only water bloating.

Happy rainy Sunday!

StuntNun · 26/01/2014 11:25

Mlig almond butter, as low carb as you can find - trust me Wink

Pippity afaik fatty liver is caused by fructose so it should improve on this WOE.

Anyone else suffering longer bouts of PMT? It's not worse just last several days longer. I wasn't at all happy yesterday and when dh ( bravely) enquired why I told him it was PMT.....he said that the what I said last weekend Hmm

daisychicken · 26/01/2014 11:31

Morning Smile lost a 1lb this week which I'm quite surprised at....(!)

Found some good recipes on titlisbusykitchen.com.. am sat writing recipes out into my lowcarb folder....

Snowie hope your DH isn't too much in pain today. If he can't get about, can you leave him a drink/food station for when you are out?
I'm glad to hear that this woe is helping your Fibro. I found last summer that my pain & fatigue levels dropped hugely but currently feel constantly fluey, achey & tired... could be the weather or could be that I keep sneaking carbs.... Bootcamp is helping me get back on the straight and narrow... darn Christmas getting in the way(!)

Thumbwitch · 26/01/2014 11:46

Oh that's a shame Precious.

Snowie, sorry to hear about your DH, hope he's better soon

Prettybird - you need to put a tb in front of the grin to get the bunnet - it's still available for now! Grin

My Burns night feed didn't affect me too adversely, in that my weight didn't go up any, but neither did it go down any.

Today has been a bit of a fail - no breakfast yet again, but I'm hoping when school goes back on Weds things will start to become more focused and I'll be able to sort it out better; and I definitely haven't drunk enough fluid today.

L - homemade mushroom soup with a hefty dollop of double cream, and a slice of cheese
D - mince thing with butter-fried mushrooms and courgette ribbons, followed by the yoghurt+double cream + rosewater pudding

and I have just made some kale crisps. They're pretty good! (was hanging for something crispy and salty)

Will try to drink lots more over the next hour or two, and go to bed earlier because lack of sleep is also one of my problems. Blush

Thumbwitch · 26/01/2014 11:57

Actually, not so sure I like the kale crisps. Was trying to convince myself. But I can't finish them, and I didn't make that many - I don't think I really like them that much at all. Sad

SnowieBear · 26/01/2014 11:58

Hi chicken, summers are always better pain-wise, I think it's the milder temperature. I tend to experience cold as pain, so winter is always a bad season for me. Blame the weather and keep warm!

I'm taking DH tomorrow for his appointment at the fracture clinic, if the put a walking boot on him he'll have some mobility back, but I cannot see it happening tbh. He cannot put weight on his foot at all - he's got a fracture onhis tibia right where it joins the ankle. He's not driving me demented yet, but he understandably is in a pretty poor mood.

thumbwitch I want to try kale crisps today, they do sound moorish.

SnowieBear · 26/01/2014 11:59

Oops thumb, posted too soon then!

Thumbwitch · 26/01/2014 12:10

For all I know, they might be better with ordinary kale instead of curly kale, but I'm not convinced. All I'm tasting is toasted cabbage, effectively, and it's just not working for me. It might work better for you though, Snowie. :)

Well, that was lunch! Did pork loin medallions fried in butter with some sage, lovely brussels on the side cooked with two echalion shallots, two bacon rashers, cream and nutmeg (I do them at Christmas with added chestnuts).

We all eat the same happily, thank God for that, didn't fancy prepping three different versions or the same meal. DS (7) complained nit enough sprouts Grin.
