Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

Sqeeze carb counts for tomatoes vary quite a lot, just use the lowest carb ones you can find (or don't eat too much of the sauce). If you use onions in your sauce then shallots or preferably echalion shallots are a low carb substitute. I made meatballs in the slow cooker a couple of days ago and thickened the tomato sauce by fast boiling it on the hob to reduce it a bit rather than adding flour to thicken it.

GatoradeMeBitch · 23/01/2014 19:52

Thanks Lovecat!

blizy · 23/01/2014 19:55

I have completely sabotaged BC at the end of my 3rd week. I have let stress get the better of me and have had a chocolate binge Sad. Stressed about my inspection and the fact that it is fastly approaching my dd's birthday, she was still born at 41 weeks in feb 2011. I was/am loving this woe and have lost 8lbs so far, I so need to lose at least 1 stone for fertility treatment, which should be the biggest incentive ever, but the grief for dd hits like a wall as does the emotional eating. Such a vicious circle that desperately needs to be broken.

SnowieBear · 23/01/2014 20:08

Methe I'd be more than happy to try kale crisps, but not to be found at the shops ready for instant gratification Grin. I'll give the recipe a go, thank you!

LittleMissDisorganized · 23/01/2014 20:09

Oh blizy you need a big hug. 2 years is no time at all and it's not surprising you feel like that - and I'm sure we all of us understand the emotional pull, and the ability to self-sabotage, of and with sugary things. With regards to weight loss - you have to put it behind you now and get back on tomorrow. Is there support with your grieving that you need but haven't so far been able to access? Am thinking of you tonight.

SteeleyeStan · 23/01/2014 20:10

Chester thank you so much for the chicken recipe! I mixed paprika and black pepper with the parmesan, and it was gorgeous! I shallow fried, so the coating didn't stick 100%, but it just meant yummy parmesan lumps in between yummy chicken, so I'm not complaining.

blizy I'm so sorry for your loss three years ago. As to the binge - what's done is done now, but tomorrow's another day.

oh blizy, what a hard time for you. I am terribly sorry that you lost your daughter.

I am not surprised you had a wobble, but just drink the water and start again. You can do it.

SnowieBear · 23/01/2014 20:15

blizy, don't be so hard on yourself. Our little darlings that never were will always be with us. Stop for a sec and follow my instructions:

  • put your right arm up
  • bend at the elbow with the palm of your hand facing your shoulder blade
  • give yourself a well deserved pat on the back
  • smile (for me, right?)

Tomorrow is another day. Get up, start again Thanks

blizy · 23/01/2014 20:28

Ah thanks snowie, your post made me smile. Tomorrow is another day, onwards and upwards as always.

Is anyone watching supersize vs super skinny? Dr Christian has just said fat will kill you, cause high cholesterol and heart problems. Nothing about sugar or carbs.

SayraT · 23/01/2014 20:34

I'm watching supersize vs superskinny.

Yes he did, I assumed that he meant all that fat as well as other stuff?

I am quite happy that this WOE is good for us and healthier but I am aware that most people don't think like that. I have just told everyone at work that I am trying to avoid refined sugar, I think if I said I was going low-carb and high fat they would all think I was a nutter!!

blizy · 23/01/2014 20:37

I am happy with it to Sayra minus my binge. Did you see how much food the super sized woman had for dinner Shock?

SayraT · 23/01/2014 20:57

Yes I did....then I wonder how come I am so fat?!

Even before starting bootcamp I didn't have a bad diet; I didn't eat bread, I didn't drink fizzy juice, I didn't have takeaways yet I managed to get to nearly 17 stone!

You see what they eat on there (and on secret eaters) and I ate far less than that yet was just as fat as some of the people on the program?!

Anyway losing weight with this and not missing sweet stuff (maybe fruit a bit, I used to eat a lot of fruit) at all.

PseudoBadger · 23/01/2014 20:58

Dr Christian is like Dr Nick from the Simpsons. He also talks shite about breastfeeding.

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 23/01/2014 21:00

I've just started watching it - the American lady, 51st - deluded.

SayraT · 23/01/2014 21:04

I know tot I wondered if I misheard or not but did they say she was only 27?

ElBombero · 23/01/2014 21:06

What's he said about BF?

SteeleyeStan · 23/01/2014 21:08

Dr Christian is a dick. That is all.

SnowieBear · 23/01/2014 21:11

29, if I remember correctly... blimey, it's a different universe, isn't it?

The message that comes through strongly is that cooking from scratch appetising food that doesn't deprive you makes a difference in getting to the right weight, be it gaining or losing.

Sayra.... did you say lots of fruit? I think you answered your question there!

SayraT · 23/01/2014 21:18

I know but really?! Lots of fruit compared with two burgers, massive plate of chips and three slices of pizza?!!!

Although, I did once track my fruit on MFP and it came to almost 1000 calories, so maybe its a good job I've given it up Grin

Lovecat · 23/01/2014 21:27

Dr Christian is a wanker, true, but omfg the amount of food that lady had for dinner!

Am pissed off by the fat guidelines though. If she'd just cut carbs she'd be fine with that fat intake.

Salt and fat give you cravings? Bollocks! I'm going to have to turn this over, it's giving me the rage...

SnowieBear · 23/01/2014 21:28

Just getting you a different way, Sayra... lots of sugar, which if you then combine with other things, well, we all know where it leads Smile.

I was wondering throughout the programme how the advice may change in a few years time as the sugar messages keep growing and official advice changes.

Lovecat · 23/01/2014 21:31

Blizy, so sorry about your daughter Thanks

If it's of any use to you, I lost 3 stone low-carbing before I had DD via IVF/ICSI. Whenever I had to have any bloods done during the pregnancy all the nurses and midwives were so impressed with how healthy I was - when I told them I low-carbed they were mostly 'ooh, yes, I've heard that works - oh, but I could never give up potatoes'...

PseudoBadger · 23/01/2014 21:34

He said that bf past 6 months can make children too dependent on their mother

ElBombero · 23/01/2014 21:52

So doing next weeks online shop... What is the lowest carb dark chocolate? Can't wait!

SnowieBear · 23/01/2014 22:19

What are the general rules for BC Light? I'm pretty comfy with the current hardcore version, but the ocassional 'treat' would be lovely.
