Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

Most terrifying, that should read. Not good with boisterous kids, loud and high pitched noise, and a houseful of people. That's an understatement, especially re the noise (have sensory hypersensitivity to high pitched noises and am a bit of a control freak. Can't think where DD got her Aspergers from, oh no. Hmm).

Oh Good luck to your dd Crabby - going to NZ for a moth! Fab.

Your life seems one long round of carbs at the mo Grin

I'm off to horsham to see a friend and drink coffee. Am going to go for flat white decaf, rather than my usual Latte.

Pleaseandthankyou · 22/01/2014 08:28

Another pound off. Another two of mince pies and stuffing to go. Then onwards and downwards. Looking forward to next week and adding nuts and an odd square of dark chocolate. What age is your dd crabby

heliumheart · 22/01/2014 08:43

Oh gawd, I'm still three pounds up from Monday despite being in ketosis and not being pre-period. And I can feel it affecting my motivation big time :( Something must be causing me to retain water - I haven't even been eating that much.

Yesterday:

2 x creamy coffee

B - leftover lasagna
L - leftover lasagna Blush
D - avocado, mozzarella, a few cherry tomatoes salad with dressing
Snack - Greek yoghurt with a dash of cream

captainmummy - flat white is my coffee of choice when out too... can't be too much milk in it..

Crabby - yikes, I feel your pain re. a month away... but what an adventure for DD. Will you be able to Skype?

I feel your pain Helium. I sneaked a quick go on the scales this morning and still not even an ounce. Sad

I am totally baffled.

Today:
B: ham, cheese, cucumber and celery (not what I had planned but the "perfectly ripe" avocados were hard, grrr).
L: Chicken salad with mayo
D: Spag bog with savoy cabbage strips.

1 litre of water so far, and one cup of tea with a splash of soya milk

Ilisten2thesoundofdrums · 22/01/2014 09:54

happygirl If cooking is difficult for you, do you have a microwave? I have been using Sainsbury's roasting bags - but they sell them in other supermarkets too - they are sort of crinkly bags with plastic ties.
Yo can cook a piece of salmon ( put in bag slosh in pepper lemon juice and cream) in 1-2 mins in the microwave to go with your salad. Super easy and quick. You can also put indian spices or other seasoning around chicken pieces and do the same - about 3- 4 mins depending on the size of them. Its a good way to cook quickly and avoid the processed stuff.
It what I'm doing at work as all we have is a microwave, and I'm getting reasonably inventive....

GrumpyCrossPatch · 22/01/2014 10:05

crabby that sound exhausting. I hope your DD has a lovely adventure but my heart goes out to you.

Thank you MyPreciousRing, I'll keep plugging away. Am going for a run later and will see if that wakes the whoosh fairy up! I really must try to stop daily weighing. Will try and drop to alternate days initially and build up my resistance!

Helium I feel your pain. Bottoms up, let's have another glass of water!

Piscivorus · 22/01/2014 10:05

Helium I too suspect you are not eating enough. I believe your protein at each meal should be about the size of the palm of your hand then you need plenty of fat and a few low-carb veg.

I lost 2.5 stone on my first bootcamp then footled about last year and took the whole year to lose the next stone. As I still have loads to go there is no real excuse for this even though I may have enjoyed life a bit too much (although the plus is that my sagginess has firmed up a bit so maybe slower is better at my advanced age and, to quote, the trend is my friend! Grin) I have realised that one thing I have been doing wrong is still doing the proportions of my meals as I would have done on SW, etc and having lots and lots of veg. In effect I have based my meals as a big plate of veg with a protein and a creamy sauce. The Scandinavian Diet book says if you have a lot to lose, or when you first start, you should think of veg more like a garnish or delicacy than a major chunk of the meal

TinTinsSexySister · 22/01/2014 10:08

That IS interesting Piscivorus...

heliumheart · 22/01/2014 10:45

Thanks all. I'm an inveterate 'no sense of when to stop' person, so I doubt it's my portion size or the amount I'm eating. For example when having the salad, I have a whole ball of mozzarella, a whole avocado, loads of dressing... etc. I think today I'm going to try and have simple meals eg. omelette or steak etc, keep it simple. I do find that the more I eat LC recipes, the harder it is to lose weight. ie. I'd never gorge on omelette or on steak, but am much more likely to on lasagne.

Will keep on keeping on today, as you say Grumpy - here's to another glass of water! Grin Am out today to my mother's where I'll no doubt be swamped with carby profferings. Feeling strong on that front though at the moment Flowers

heliumheart · 22/01/2014 10:46

Pisci - thanks for advice, think I'll look at the Scandi book. I also have a lot to lose (4 stone + ) but think I'll try to minimise the veg a bit more.

googoogoggles · 22/01/2014 10:48

Oh, Crabby that will be hard to have DD away for so long Sad. As captainmummy says, presumably you can Skype?
Piscivorus – I have masses of veg, too. Stick to the low carb ones but still... Do wonder sometimes if I'd have lost more weight over last BCs if I'd have controlled portion size more but I love my veg and (TMI) think help to keep me regular –along with cream in coffee too I think!
Working at home today (still haven't started properly so must get down to it). Today:
B small packed smoked salmon (on offer at Sainsbo's) with ff Philly plus coffee/cream (have switched to low caffeine as an interim to moving onto decaff)
L not sure – something like tuna mayo lettuce wraps
D slow-cooked lamb/rosemary (got a deal on leg o lamb at weekend). Very looking forward to this. Doing it oh so slowly on low heat so can pull it apart (from a Jamie O recipe). Will do some mashed swede or cauli to go with it
Water fail yesterday so going to down a .750 ml bottle now...
Hope everyone has a good day

googoogoggles · 22/01/2014 10:53

Cross post with helium... Good luck resisting carby offerings at your mum's My mum always had a biscuit/cake tin in one of her cupboards filled with all sorts of wondrous stuff, which she'd get out every time she offered a cup of tea as a "treat"
Ah, miss my mum (though not the biscuit tin – no doubt responsible for a lot of my emotional eating triggers!

thenightsky · 22/01/2014 11:07

Hard weekend coming up. Eating out Friday at nice restaurant and then to a friend's for dinner on Saturday. Saturday will be hard because she is a fab cook and will have gone to a big effort so it would be VERY rude of me to turn down parts of the meal.

My menu at the Friday night place is here I'm thinking mussels to start and cajun chicken salad for main. Opinions would be welcome please Smile

ChesterDrawers · 22/01/2014 11:15

The whoosh dairy finally pulled her finger out and stopped by - back to a total loss in three weeks on 6.5lb, which I'll take. Still feeling headachey today and slept really badly but the scales has renewed my vigour to keep going.

Today:
B: poached egg x2, 1.5 sausages, mushrooms and a bit of grated cheddar
L: prawn and avacado salad
D: cottage pie topped with swede

A bit behind with my water so far today so must get swigging.

SteeleyeStan · 22/01/2014 11:21

Good morning, if this can still be called morning.

Crabby sounds like you're keeping busy, and lucky DD, getting to go to NZ. Good luck for tomorrow too. (I've always loved the sound of home ed; it'd most likely be our choice if any kids actually materialized).

No sign of AF despite feeling hormonal and having cramps and sore boobs for over a week now. Angry My back and hip are also aching, so I'm not a very happy bunny at the moment. Still, it's payday tomorrow, and DH suggested Ikea, "the big Holland & Barrett" and Lidl this Saturday (they're all in the next town).

Food plan for today:
B: Two fried eggs, coffee with coconut oil, soaked linseeds (ew slimy).
L: Buttery fried mushrooms, avocado, some salad veggies with mayo.
D: Hopefully sea bass and samphire, as long as the shops have them.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 22/01/2014 11:23

I'm adding feta stuffed things to my Lidl list then :)

I have lost 5lbs since 2nd January which is very pleasing given the slightly off piste weekend. Lush omelette last night with lardons, mushrooms, courgette and cheese cooked in plenty of butter. One slight aberration - went to meet a friend's delicious snuggly week-old DS yesterday, and her 2yo had made gingerbread biscuits for visitors and was handing them out and I couldn't tell him no, it was too cute... Even the toddlers are pushing carbs! Grin

Tonight I have a breast of lamb to roast, with garlic butter greens and cauli mash. Yum.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 22/01/2014 11:26

Oh and thenightsky I think I would have the prawn cocktail and then gammon with fried egg and ask for lots of salad not chips - or swap the chips for the saute spinach side dish, that looks nice too.

Ooh don't do it keepon... Sorry you're feeling rubbish, though. I hope the injury's nothing serious. :( Hide the biscuits, get a nice cuppa and something BC-allowed to nibble on and try to do something distracting (reading, crafts, TV catch up?) and think of how proud you'll feel when the cravings finally pass and you didn't give in. Thanks

NotTwit · 22/01/2014 11:51

Hey losers!

B-courgette, bacon, cheesy omelette thing
D- chicken roasted with butter and a smidge of garlic salt and mixed dark salad leaves (watercress etc)
T- same chicken, garlic mushrooms, cauliflower.

Are there ways of making the cauliflower more interesting? I thought using it instead of mashed potato? I tried it once and it was meh. I don't have any cream cheese so can't do cauli cheese, although I have cheese and cream. (Crap cook alert)

Does anyone have any tips on getting through the next week or so, I'm due Thursday ish and have gained 1lb. There is no reason other than PMT ones as I have continued to be very careful.

EwanHoozami · 22/01/2014 11:53

keepon step away! Have you got some decent painkillers for your injury? If so, take some. Then decide what your very favourite LC thing to eat is and make yourself some. Hope you feel better soon.

EwanHoozami · 22/01/2014 11:56

NotTwit I really like cauliflower roasted. Bung it in a roasting dish with knobs of butter and salt and pepper (and cumin / chilli if you're feeling frisky) It chars a bit at the edges and is truly marvellous.
