Morning all!

I see several of you have already weighed in on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

As of today, though, we also have our bright, shiny, new Bootcamp section on Mumsnet, including our own Weight Tracker, which will only show your own weight/progress.

You can either use the Spreadsheet as we have done before, which everyone has access to and can see, or you can go here and enter your weight.

Obviously you can do both!

When you're in the new Bootcamp, if you click on the tab that says 'more info' that will take you to a section which has loads of information about low carbing, as well as Bootcamp Rules

Before we get going formally, I have to make an important disclaimer:

I am not a doctor, a medic, a scientist, a nutritionist or a dietician. I have no formal training in food, dieting or low carbing. The information that I provide here is based solely on my reading on the subject, as well as my own experience. If you have any kind of medical condition and/or you are taking any kind of ongoing medication, you should consult your GP before starting a low carb diet

That done, good luck everyone!

I'm in. Like the new online weight tracker. I don't think today's weight is accurate as is it OV day, but I'm going with what the scale said, rather than what I want it to say Grin

ooh helooooo.

breakfast was 2 eggs fried in butter and oil, and loads of mushrooms. On 3rd glass of water, got both kids off sick so that will curtail me from certain things, but Im here, Im doing it! Grin

Good luck everyone.

Can I join? I am 50 this year, and do not want to be fat and fifty! I have at least 3 stone to lose. That is a lot! Ihave started today with coffee and coconut oil, water (fizzy, is that ok?) a herb tea and a boiled egg.
I am rubbish at motivation!

StairsInTheNight · 13/01/2014 10:02

Just added myself to the spreadsheet. 4st to lose but I have a holiday coming up mid Feb - great incentive- hoping to lose a stone by then if at all possible.

Getting the shred out at lunchtime too...

Lucy - you've started though! It doesn't matter what you weigh compared to everyone else, and it's not a competition.

Seri and MrsPNut - please don't cry Sad

Look at it this way - in only a few days you will already have lost some of that weight. And I can promise you that if you follow Bootcamp rules, you will also do it whist enjoying lovely, satisfying food.

Suck them Heir - the pork scratchings that is.

Kasbah Total full fat yoghurt and Lidl Greek yoghurt are both low carb. I mix double cream in mine and also add berries when on Bootcamp Light.

Don't cry about your weight when weighing in please. Stick with us and the weight will drop off. This is the first day of getting lighter.

Just one thing I need to point out as well - I won't be able to pop into the threads as often as I used to, as now I have an Actual Real Job, in an Actual Real Office, with Actual Real Colleagues - and so I have to do some Actual Work Grin

Will do my best to check in when I can, but please forgive me if I'm not around as much.

Morning everyone, lovely to be here. I fell into a lot of carbs and a bottle of wine last night, had a dreadful nights sleep as result and have turned over my lovely new leaf this morning. I have at least 20 lbs to loose, know this woe works and feel very positive.

2 glasses of water and a mushroom omelette, delicious.

Thanks Biwi and Willie, love the new section.

Eek I need to have breakfast yet.

Lucy - don't be disheartened, I'm not too far behind you! As Laura says, you're likely to have the most dramatic results which will be a massive incentive. We're all different sizes and shapes anyway - for me it's all particularly depressing because I realised I have put on 70lb in just over two years. How is THAT for horrendous? The only time I weighed more than this was DURING my twin pregnancy. Then I lost it all 3 years ago doing Dukan, didn't do any exercise, and have had a grim couple of years. Piling it all back on has been so so awful, I've been watching the weight rise with a sad detachment, almost as though it was happening to somebody else and not to me.

I really need this to work for me, and to work in a very definite and final way. I can't keep yo-yoing like this.

good morning losers, just wanted to add my thanks to BIWI and Willie for all their hard work ThanksThanks

this WOE really works if you stick at it, i'm already half way into my 2l bottle water as i don't think i paid enough attention to that in the past. good luck to everyone, keep posting your meal plans for inspiration! (i tend to be hugely unadventurous)

B: 2 eggs fried in butter, spring onion, dusting of grated cheese
L: avocado & chicken salad with lashings of mayo
D: pan fried salmon, wilted spinach, mayo
hope that's ok?

Started my day with 2 eggs scrambled with a bit of milk, chopped up ham and chives in them. Yummy! Weighing in was a horror - am heavier than I thought but hey, its more motivation.

Would echo the thanks of the thread to BIWI and Willie...no matter if I lose or not, thank you for putting in the time and effort for us all.

Good to see the new section up and running. Big thanks to BIWI and Willie.

I went to a baby shower yesterday and didn't succumb to a single cake! I did have a small glass (literally a mouthful) of fizzy rose wine to toast the mum to be.

I have two questions - is ff yoghurt allowed on boot camp?

And is there any benefit to doing bootcamp for three weeks? I started bootcamp proper last Monday so I was considering moving on to bootcamp light next Monday. What are others doing?

Wakemeup yes tea and coffee is allowed but be aware that
a) it might provoke an insulin response (I haven't read any evidence but that has been said on here)
b) milk is quite carby so only use a tiny bit in tea, if at all, and use cream/butter in your coffee. No milky coffees!
c) tea and coffee are diuretics, so you won't be hydrating yourself quite as much with them as by drinking plain water.

Sayra almonds are fine on bootcamp light, so it isn't a complete disaster. Glad the meal was good last night! Be careful of lemon juice and lemons folks - they're surprisingly carby.

Kasbah full fat yoghurt is fine, Total is a good one, and there's an Aldi one people recommend I think. Dairy stalls some people though so just be aware of that.

CheerfulYank ooh who is it? Grin

Plonky yy to ff yoghurt; see above. Quite a few people carry on with strict bootcamp after the initial fortnight. You can do it for as long as it suits you, really. Smile

Hi everyone (waves). This is my first bootcamp. I'm currently 187lbs, and I would like to get to about 140lbs. I'm aiming more for steady sustainable loss than speedy weight loss, which I probably won't be able to keep off, but I would like to lose 5lbs over the next fortnight to get me under 13st.

Thanks BIWI, Willie and everyone else involved for your work and support.

Wow, this is moving fast!
Not got any work lined up until Wednesday (ups and downs of freelance life), so been for a run this morning. How did yours go Lavender?
Just eaten 3-egg fritatta with spring onion and courgette and tiny bit of feta sprinked over. A lot but hoping it will last me until dinner (with a coffee/dollop of double cream to help!)
Have just prepared DD1's fave dinner in slow cooker as she's heading back to uni in the morning. Rich beef daube – realise it's a tiny bit carby for my first day of BC (incudes a slosh of red wine with onion) so will try to have just a tiny portion with lots of buttery greens and cauli rice!
On my third glass of water!
