Which festival you going to Eve, big or small, we went to Camp Bestival last year, and went to Womad the last time it was in Reading. Hard work but awsome fun . We also met SpongeBob never mind florence and the machine !!

Monty100 · 22/07/2010 22:35

Eve - sounds great . You always seem so organised.

I have a stack of leave to use up. DS will go on holiday with exh but I won't be able to go when they go and I'm not keen on leaving ds with exh if I go later. DD is doing her own thing next month. And now I've realised the stupid cat'll need caring for. Gaaah! . Perhaps I should leave ds with exh. It might teach them both a lesson.
Exh's gf is iffy tho. I couldn't enjoy myself if I thought ds was miserable.

I swing from will I/won't I. Opinions welcome.

Thanks all. Just got off the phone to BF, wanted her to come round tomorrow night but she can't get down here. I can afford one way of taxi fares, but not two. Don't see as much of her as I would like, as shes married with 2 kids and very rarely comes out on an evening, and lives at the other side of the city so doesn't fit in with school rubs.

Out on sat night-so far- but out of 4 sisters, 3 are too skint to do anything, as I say BF cant come out, lots of people are working, most people I know at the minute are loved up so don't want to come out with the single girls, or pregnant. So I'm a billy no mates at the minute

Eve- woohoo festival chick! What did you buy at the shops, anything fun?

w&n- rather jealous of spongebob...but more jealous of florence and the machine I'm afraid!

Monty, it will be nice to have some baby kittens to play with! Would DS be really unhappy with exhs gf? I think you should definately do something for yourself, even if it's only a weekend away. Could you maybe pay DD a small amount to look after the cat/kittens if need be?

Just watching The Sweetest Thing. It really is my favourite girly film ever. I find it really funny, but it might not appeal to everyones sense of humour...at one point they sing "The Penis Song". Yes, that is its official name!

lou33 · 22/07/2010 23:04

My pills are lovely thank you lol.

Happy birthday Clara

Not much to report here. Dp is on nights til i dont know when, so not seeing much of him obviously, tho he is off briefly this weekend, which i am looking forward to

Monty100 · 22/07/2010 23:12

Clara - doh, shame about bf living at other side of town. Sounds as tho you're enjoying that film anyway lol.

Dd would look after the kittens no probs except she won't be here for a lot of the time. grr

I'm have a few days in Edinburgh in September so that's something.

Lou - absence makes the heart grow even fonder!

It's a small local festival, had a ball last year, this year their are loads of people going that we know including my DN so should be even better.

Had a scan in Next yesterday, half the shop was filled with sale stuff that they must have dug out from somewhere and the rest wasn't much better. Will go to town next week.

Monty, tricky one. Do you usually take DS but think he will be a bit spoilt having two hols? Or do you just want time to yourself. I had this dilemma end of last year, was going to go on my own but in the end couldn't leave DD out as I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it knowing she was unhappy being left. Will go away without her in future if she had arranged her own holiday.

lou33 · 23/07/2010 09:45

Omg stop me from telling dp about some puppies for sale locally

clarabella23 · 23/07/2010 12:03

Lou...Don't do it!

lou33 · 23/07/2010 12:49

too late, i blurted it out and now he wants to go see them

Monty100 · 23/07/2010 14:08

Lou - . Have a couple of kittens instead .

Eve - I popped into Next briefly last week, mainly looking for wedding shoes which I didn't get. I couldn't bear to plough through the rows and rows of tunics and t-shirts. Where did they all come from?? Oasis is a good sale if you have one, although the one near me hasn't much left now.

DS is really hard work at the minute so, if he gets a holiday with exh then I'll be pleased to get away with dp on our own, but there's the issue of exh's gf if I have to leave him. It's a tough one. I remember last year when dd went along with you.

Have been in rooms full of 'suits' again today, a good job they can't read my mind . I'll be glad to get on that train tonight, in fact, this afternoon lol.

Remotew · 23/07/2010 14:49

We do have Oasis, thanks for the tip. I will have a look next week.

lou33 · 23/07/2010 16:43

looks like we will be picking eddie up in 4 weeks time ....

Remotew · 23/07/2010 17:35

Lou, there will be more dogs than people living in your house soon.

lou33 · 23/07/2010 17:39

well boris isnt here all the time, but someone else said exactly the same thing

i put a pic of him on fb in the puppy days album

Monty100 · 23/07/2010 19:06

Lou - rofl.

Eddie

Have you had Dora 'done'?

Eve - Here's a preview link. I like this one

I'm very glad this week is over, have cracked a beer already.

OP posts:
lou33 · 23/07/2010 20:09

Not yet, she hasnt had her first season yet, and boris has been done, so we will have time.

Tho dp is now hinting at dora having puppies, now by eddie. . . .

He is so cute tho, and sooo tiny right now too

Monty100 · 23/07/2010 21:00

Lou - what age is he? Is he a Springer?

OP posts:
lou33 · 23/07/2010 22:41

He is only 4weeks atm so not ready and a patterdale jack russell cross, aka a patterjack lol.

Much smaller than a springer. Have a look on my fb

Monty100 · 23/07/2010 23:20

just had a look.

OMG gorgeous!

OP posts:
lou33 · 23/07/2010 23:30

I know lol

Monty100 · 23/07/2010 23:41

It's more to do tho Lou.

Kitten is is going to have kittens in the next week or so.

Al (pseudonym for dp) was going to sort all that.........

I'd have a doggie for 10 cats any day.

OP posts:
lou33 · 24/07/2010 00:06

True but just look at him. . .

clarabella23 · 24/07/2010 09:43

Morning!

I do get quite sad at times that I'm not at home enough to train a pet...but its more responsibility I suppose anyway. Pretty sure I've got enough of that in my life already.

With regards to Next, I was a manager there for 5 years til earlier this year. We have mahoosive stockrooms, nothing gets transferred out during the year or with the midseason sales. You find that for the first day of sale, its everything "current season", i.e everything thats on the shopfloor whats already out on display, so you can get some good bargains-especially in childrens if you're there early enough. As it sells down, it gets filled up with whatever is left upstairs, which is normally stock from over the winter, the rubbish that wouldn't sell at previous sales, all that crap.

The staff get first dibbs on sale stuff, and the hold room is always rammed with stuff to buy. I have TONS of junk what I bought cos they were barains! If you go first thing, the best things to buy are the jewellery and homeware...those were always the best reductions. However, they were always sold out after the first hour of the doors opening.

Sorry, bit of a ramble there...hope everyones doing well and enjoying the sunshine!

lou33 · 24/07/2010 14:45

We went to see the puppy again today and it started nibbling my toes

lou33 · 24/07/2010 19:00

i think i am in shock ladies, exh and i have had a couple of v reasonable conversations this last week regarding dd1, he has actually been agreeing with me about it all

AND earlier he actually said what a good guy dp was, and would he like to borrow his flatboard dinghy with engine to take ds2 on the river!

i think i need a drink, but let's hope it continues
