Morning everyone just a quickie - waiting for my parents to arrive for a rare visit - (just overnight) - I've been relegated to the sofa. Hope it goes well - we don't have the best of history - I usually keep a list of criticisms from them just to demonstrate to myself that I was not imagining it - we are like chalk and cheese.

Omg the England game - what was wrong with them - I think I heard that the WAGS weren't allowed to go with them and that they are confined to early nights due to earlier bad behaviour so perhaps that has something to do with it (they haven't been scoring in any way - or that Capello is making them edgy in some way. Think I might be on to something there. Whatever it was sooo disappointing.

Lou your poor ds2 sounds horrendous.

And re exhs - my ex has gone away for fathers day and is will also be going away on ds2s birthday - well he is actually going to pick him up from school for an hour (to take him to the game shop) and then drop him back at the childminder till I pick him up - I suppose it's better than nothing but I was still a bit meh about it.

Hope everyone else is OK - where has summer gone ?

We are running a summer course at work starting Monday for ten days and the weather is always variable. Usual cracking of jokes from me about the British weather (they aer all from overseas)

I watched the match on our works night out in a pub last night. Damn disgrace! Was drooling over Becks though. I agree he is looking really hot atm. Just as he is in the photo I've got on my lounge wall of him stood between DD and I with his arms around us. Phwaor!

Couldn't find anyone to go dancing last night so was tucked up in bed by 12.30 .

Looking forward to my night on the fells tonight. We are going into the wilds rather than on a site.

Hope everyone has cheered up a bit. I fell of the wagon (cigs) spectacularly last night. Have to get back on the quit but just might wait until tomorrow. Why is it so hard?

lou33 · 19/06/2010 15:28

I was in bed just after eleven.

I finally managed to get hold of exh today,so Ds2 has gone there overnight. Dd2 didnt want to and Ds1 chose to not go because of his braces. Dd1 is out til this evening. They took him a card for tomorrow, but they are more excited about the gift they got Dp (tho they wont see him til late tomorrow)

aurorastargazer · 19/06/2010 15:33

hi everyone

lou - i'm sorry you're down ((((()))) how are things today? you're more than welcome to email me if you ever need a chat with someone in rl who doesn't know you very well hope your dc feeling better today xx

ninah - and whether or not schools have a 'christian' ethos, their own personal views shouldn't impact on how they teach children ffs! i agree with monty (?) to pull him out of htere and send him to the other school you looked at, if you can

at you lot about beckham
if capello had gone with a formation such as 4-5-2 and let players play in their natural position then they might have played a damn sight better - only 2 of the players are used to a 4-4-2 formation, these men know nothing about position (read into that what you will you filthy minded lot

i have got a grip. alas, library guy lives with his girlfriend of 5 yrs standing - it crossed my mind about him being younger thna me but his gf is apparently 50 so it wouldn't have bothered him. ah well. NEXT!

SingleMum01 · 19/06/2010 16:55

hi all, just place marking. Not posted anything lately but been reading!

Hope you're all okay x

clarabella23 · 19/06/2010 18:06

Hey all

Just thought I'd pop and say hi!

Was out last night, just getting ready to go out again tonight...god it feels weird to have a social life! Going out with my sister who is newly single and wants tips to pick up men. Shes quite awkward around men, so not sure she'll like my method of being a brazen hussy, and approaching any fella who I like the look of for a chat and possibly a good flirt!

Was chatting to a nice young fella, think he was a year or 2 younger than me, he asked for my number and had a bit of a cheeky snog He hasn't text today yet though. I would normally text him but I need to stop and let them do a bit of chasing methinks!

Also chatting to someone from POF, think were gonna go for a date next week, he seems lovely, but not sure if I'll fancy him...wait and see I guess! Does anyone else find that lots of them look nothing like there pics?I know you put up pics that show you looking your best, but I've seen some vast differences! This one enjoys snowboarding so he shall henceforth be know as snowboarder!

Hope everyones OK, and having lots of fun on this miserable looking saturday night!

thesouthsbelle · 19/06/2010 19:12

just a quick place mark till ds is in bed - football - pah! there's 2 hours outta my life I won't see again but would like to!

did the whole kids/soldier (better call him BF now I guess) today - all went swimmingly, boys got on like old mates, everyone had fun, everyone's suitably tired! can't wait until tomorrow now when i'll have a few hours with BF out of the house all to our selves. YAY!

ninah · 19/06/2010 20:07

ah, belle's got a bf! great to hear you so happy belle
went to bbcue was fine, even more fun dissecting everyone afterwards!

thesouthsbelle · 19/06/2010 20:53

clara - yeah let em chase you I say.

ararua - agreed totally on the position thing. but becks - come on girls Frank Lampard - shame he's one of the redknapp clan but wouldn't say no to him! sorry about library man - nout wrong with an ogle thou & harmless flirting.

eve - what's fell night?

sin - hope the visit isn't going too bad.

monty - lou ninah, hope you're all ok.

pirate how's DD.

juicy where are you atm???!

dear god! I am sad!

anyhow, gonna get & have a swim in the tub. & bed. XH is coming tomorrow to take DS for the day - apparently I should appreciated yet again him messing me about with contact again - ie having DS all weekend this week - when he knew i'd made plans - and also knew he was meant to be having DS for next week so I could go to cousins wedding. anyhow having him tomorrow lets see how DS gets on.

Monty100 · 19/06/2010 20:59

Evening All

Lou - are you feeling better today?

Clara - have a lovely evening.

Belle - that's lovely about the boys.

Ninah - are you going to fight ds' corner? Is there any flexibility?

Eve - lol at you not having anyone to go dancing with. You're probably glad today though. Hoping your evening in the Fells is lovely.

Aurora - I'm very impressed by your dissection of the game.

Hi to everyone else.

Well, apart from domestic drudgery today I found myself in IKEA of all places!!! . I was quite liking a canvas print (I know I know) but it was ££££. So right at the end in the bargain basement, (as you do), there was two of them at half price. So I was standing there humming and ha-ing about getting it and up behind me comes this lovely friend that I haven't seen for yonks, and she had been admiring it upstairs too. So, we stood there trying to justify buying one each, so I bought her one and she bought me one. Do you see the psychology there? lol.

now you have a picture with a story to it, always good
tell me I am the only one that thinks this - the more Venture photos per room the unhappier the marriage? or am i being a cow
Monty the gloves are off re school, I have been the non complaining british parent too long
the irony is that if ex went in with his shiny car and pillar of society aftershave they'd fall over themselves

lou33 · 19/06/2010 21:29

hi monty, yes i feel better today thank you

i just spent today doing bugger all really, until about 6pm

ds2 is staying overnight with his dad, i have spoken to him twice and he is fine, dd1 is out all day til about midnight with friends, so its all quiet here with just 2 of them, though ds1 was a bit of a pita earlier and had to be told off

amazing how much easier domestic life is when you take one or 2 children out of the equation

lou33 · 19/06/2010 21:31

ninah, i think they may well take you more seriously if you are not usually one to go arching in to complain about everything, and you stay firm and calm

at least that is my experience anyway

would home ed be an option, even if temporarily?

ninah · 19/06/2010 22:04

I will be calm and state my case, as I did on the phone, and try to find out more. I will def have my parent hat on not my employee hat though.
home ed is just a thought at present. It would mean a rethink of work as atm I do pretty much a full time week
you have home ed'd haven't you lou?
I have done bugger all today too
never buy wine on offer from Total Garages, even if you think you need to

lou33 · 19/06/2010 22:09

yes i home ed dd2, have done since feb last year, though we are considering getting her back to school as she feels more ready for it now

you dont have to follow the national curriculum to home ed, just show that they are learning rather than being sent up chimneys for a living

Monty100 · 19/06/2010 22:11

Lou - glad to hear it . Good to hear you've been chilling too!

Ninah - I'd be livid and would prob go in all guns blazing I must admit. If I didn't get what I wanted I'd have him out of there too! Yep, I'm loving the story behind the picture lol.

SMO1 - how are you? Is MrBlue still around?

I have just stuffed my face with a t-bone steak and all the trimmings (apols to veggies). It was lovely (dp cooked ).

ninah · 19/06/2010 22:12

that's a pity, he's very thin and bendy

Monty100 · 19/06/2010 22:16

eh?

OP posts:
ninah · 19/06/2010 22:21

chimneys
shame I can't get him out earning really
perhaps we do the odd 'Victorian Week'

lou33 · 19/06/2010 22:58

i guess as long as you teach him something as well then he could sweep the odd one, or send him to a match stick factory?

ninah · 19/06/2010 23:37

oh the scope is endless for poorly paid menial labour in t'village
and i should know
nn all
hope all has settled down for you lou and you have a lovely time with dp tomorrow
