Has no-one beaten me to it yet?

Juicy sounding good.

WG old friend is worth seeing again.

Second not to arrange a meet up without me. Maybe down south in May.

betty - i'm also a vote for deleting. it's just a constant reminder. and is poor for the SOH band wagon as it tempts you.

bad enough avoiding text/calls never mind trying not to msn when he pops up.

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/02/2010 10:17

hey ladies... i've just gone and booked myself on a sushi making day course next wkd

cheer myself up on my crappy valentines wkd..

hope its not full of lovey dovey couples. it's not advertised as a couples valentines special. so shouldn't be.

Janos · 06/02/2010 11:27

Hello you lot

I haven't forgotten you!

Apologies if yforgotten any names, my mind is a bit shot at the moment.

Sorry I've not been on - have not been having a good time. Not men related at all but really quite depressed and not wanting to moan over what is meant to be a light hearted and fun thread.

Starting to come out of it now though.

Sorry to hear your friend's dad kdk. It's always sad. My Gran was 91 when she died (7 years ago now) and I still miss her.

And thank you all for asking after me too

aseriouslyblondemoment · 06/02/2010 11:55

sorry to hear your sad news kdk
betty hope his reply has helped to draw a line under things, still feel that it's shitty of him to communicate by e-mail fgs
juicy that course sounds fun,if i were in your neck of the woods i'd come and join you as i'm on my own on valentines day too as he's working a crappy night shift.
spotted your other thread btw
haven't posted as you already know my answer!

glad to see you back

kdk · 06/02/2010 12:19

Also where's Spice? Didn't you have a date the other day? How did it go? Was it the guy with the x? Come on, we need to know!

Betty79 · 06/02/2010 12:57

asbm-i suppose part of it is my fault with the contact as it has always been via msn, text or in person. That's a lesson learnt really, will only give out my phone number now and not add people to facebook/msn. And will expect phone calls not just texts from anyone i date in future or they r out the door lol.

juice-that sounds like fun, i hate valentines day, esp when single but never did do anything for it when married lol

havent decided on whether to delete or not, my friend says dont (she met him and has read his email lol)

aseriouslyblondemoment · 06/02/2010 14:10

betty i totally agree, whilst a bit of text tennis is huge fun at the beginning and i do love it, i think anyone who communicates purely thru this or msn is worth avoiding at all costs
ime it shows social/emotional ineptness
cue the first nobber i dated aft.my divorce, and like you having been married for years and out of touch completely with the whole dating malarkey i thought that this was normal
dp actually asked if he could call me as soon as i gave him my no as he said he found texting impersonal

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/02/2010 16:03

i agree about the communication. text/msn has its place for me as the kids can really be too noisy to talk on phone. but a call is far better.

webcam/skype is very handy for me at the moment. as close to sitting in same room as we can get. and we actually sit and not rather than written word

asbm - yup really looking forward to the sushi thing. it's 3 hours. and i make enough sushi for a buffet feast for 4 people!!... so taking it round to the girls after who are also single to have a chill out with dvd, sushi and chocolates

thought you would have seen othe thread... tell me this... i dont find myself mistrusting what he says... i just dont feel i can trust my judgement to be right in trusting he's being truthful?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 06/02/2010 16:12

top night you've got planned there
think back to some of our convos on msn when i first met my dp as i was in exactly the same situ as you are now
however, what helped me was actually meeting his close mates and family and seeing how he related to them and how much they all love and respect him
it is hard to trust your own judgement but at some point you have to take that leap of faith

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/02/2010 16:25

asbm - good point. will see what happens with regards to friends/family.

he's told all his mates at base

as they all want to know why he's eager to find out rotas when he's never cared before.

and some of his bro/sis (there's 8 of them.. so will take a while to tell them all)

he stays in hotels when he's here. but says his friends are always trying to get him to stay with them.

but he feels if he were only visiting once a year he might, but when he's over so regular he feels he would be imposing to stay with them so regular.

so i suppose they all get on well with him. but as you say. i wont know till i meet them.... IF i meet them

aseriouslyblondemoment · 06/02/2010 16:39

tbh i think you're alot more savvy re:blokes than you give yourself credit for
all this dating you've done this past year hasn't been in vain

Betty79 · 06/02/2010 17:06

I agree with asbm I think u will get a gut feeling, it's hard to know at first though isnt it. I take it you have had fairly regular contact so far then

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/02/2010 17:13

everyday

sincitylover · 06/02/2010 20:07

i agree juicy - read your other thread - I agree with asbm - you are alot more intuitive than you think.

Well the gardener text me this morning saying I dreamt of you and want you. Oh ffs he hasn't even met me!! I think that might make him a knob don't you?

I haven't replied and don't intend to.

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/02/2010 20:18

scl - fair enough if he had met you to say that.... but a bit since he's never met you?... i find that odd... very full on .

thesouthsbelle · 06/02/2010 21:06

oh god sin don't respond - run fast and to the hills!

juicy - go with it i'd say and agree with the other girls, you know when you're being spun a yarn or not.

betty - delete I'd say esp if you're sure the door is closed both ways but hell what do I know - gymboy's been deleted added deleted more times than that lately! his number still isn't in my phone but i know the last 3 now so know when it's him.

janos - hope you're feeling better now.

hate, lou, monty, kdk, pirate (any others hiya, big waves)

sounds like fun all of you girls meeting in london, if my budget allowed i'd come along as well but I don't think it will do this side of brother's wedding.

things are plodding here, have submitted my forms y'day for uni in september double eek.

gymboy got offended y'day when I asked him if he was on a match date last night instead of out with tom (his friend who he drinks with) funny cos for a man who doesn't like match/know why he's on there he goes on there to 'read' emails. had a bit of a set 2 y'day, which was sorted today - since when's it acceptable to have a shite day in work then ring up someone you 'care about' and give em both barrels? still ho hum, maybe I compartmentalise too much?

roll on tues - first night out in ages with the girls, then another on thursday, and if i'm lucky another on friday & sat nights and possibly seeing the sailor on sunday if he's not on shift.

ooh also phase one of bagging the marine (god I sound right bad with the military men! lol) has been put into action. - Juicy is the one I told you about from the gym - another one I know I know but this chap is actually lovely, and has a body that well I would just about do anything to lick ice cream from!

sincitylover · 06/02/2010 22:05

oh yes the london meet up - if its Thursday I might be able to get out for a couple of hours early evening - what time are you all meeting up - otherwise its difficult without paying for babysitter.

kdk · 06/02/2010 22:41

Don't think we've decided yet! I just said Thursday because I'm at uni in the west end on Thursdays so central. Really any day works for me so long as my mother, aka the babysitter, isn't busy! My main criteria is cheapish as only working part-time atm so largely skint!

Maybe sometime after half-term (week after next) would be good?

sincitylover · 06/02/2010 22:50

ooh excited emoticon I am also in the West End and thurs is a possibility. After half term yes.

sincitylover · 07/02/2010 11:30

morning all.

Need to fess up before I take ds2 out to football.

Bad night for the SOH club. Sent exbf abt 4 txts - I know he was there (IYWIM). Very short and cryptic. First one hello (our usual original greeting) , then asking if he was better (was ill last week when we meant to meet), then creating my own little drama - next one along the lines of I'm worth more than this (shit) finally the old chestnut asking him if he wants to stop and that its hurting me.

No idea why I did this - had drunk a bit of wine. But not that much - have been pretty good recently with handling things but for some reason last night was feeling petulant and emotional.

feel better for getting off my chest, thanks for reading.

sincitylover · 07/02/2010 11:31

which are not good emotions in a woman who should know better

Betty79 · 07/02/2010 13:21

Well my night out was good fun, but ended up bumping into mrjack in last place which was akward at first then we talked for quite a while, snogged a few times (I was quite drunk)went round in circles with it all. Went home alone which was a good thing, then was left feeling a bit confused this morning so asked him outright what he wanted today, said he cant give me what i want and wants to be friends, said i might find that hard. anyway have deleted from phone and fb, havent deleted off msn yet but am going too i think lol

Feel better about it today tho, like I've drawn a line under it properly now.

scl-well we all have those days tho dont we hope u get back on the soh wagon pronto

belle-why is he still on match? still think he doesnt deserve you from what you say about him.

sincitylover · 07/02/2010 14:54

betty hate that I can't give you what you want line. It makes me fee but glad if you feel you have drawn a line under it.

Betty79 · 07/02/2010 19:39

yep is a naff line really isnt it!

well after saying im gonna take some time off dating, have re-instated pof profile tonight can only be a good distraction if nothing else lol

where is everyone else, hope you've all had good weekends?

ninah · 07/02/2010 20:05

sorry about mr jackass but you sound philosophical betty. Agree that mainly text/email communication doesn't help you to get to know someone all that well, I def prefer phones or in person (with the odd text as a back up)
juicy haven't read your thread but agree with everyone else that you are def sound in sussing out a nm, is nice you have found someone you are keen on, and the sushi thing sounds fab!
sin I trump you on non soh behaviour. He called round with a bottle of wine and I ended up having THAT conversation yet again then spending the weekend
belle I am confused, you are now exclusive but he's on match? and you are going on other dates? Good for you tho, I think you are right to keep your options open
janos I'm sorry you have been feeling fed up, but glat to hear you are coming out of it know what you mean ...
monty charity shopping, I Loooove that would be a top day for me
