belle and re the comments... they weren't out of place if that common place among your friends or area. mines are filthy buggers and male friends would call me terms of affection most people would be appalled and disgusted by... but its just our sense of humour. but if you all call each other lovey dovey terms of endearment then its fine.

up my way(well.. and def among my group of friends).. terms like babe and kisses in messages are only done if you have the hots for someone... oh.. or by gay friends.thats where i said would he be uncomfortable as up here most guys would be pee-ed off at it.

lou33 · 22/12/2009 17:02

juice

i am about to go try and fit all the food into my fridge and freezer, do some chores then get dinner on for the kids , will eat later with the mechanic

thesouthsbelle · 22/12/2009 17:03

eve he is we've managed to get past that I think for the most part - well he's getting his head around it - has wobbles but it's all good, at the mintue i'm having jsut as many as him so going v v slowly with it all. but both trying. (the conversation when he first said that seems so long ago now given everything else that happened)

in the mean while, the sailor has text this avo saying that he cares about me & his mates come second time for me to bow out of THAT one me thinks! lol.

GB is at the airport the otherside waiting to come home - YAY!

christmaseve · 22/12/2009 17:03

All the presents are wrapped and most of the cards given out. Turkey in the fridge but been snowed in so no other food and drink yet. Will try tomorrow or go local as I'm panicking about leaving it until Christmas eve.

Just realised that I've got DD 8 presents and non of them would fit into her stocking so no stocking fillers! damn. Will have to out something in there she will freak if I fill it up with satsumas and nuts.

thesouthsbelle · 22/12/2009 17:04

don't know if it's common place here tbh. babe is only used in the same sense really I guess here as up there. (GBF doesn't count cos a) he's taken and b) he just doesn't lol)

thesouthsbelle · 22/12/2009 17:05

don't forget some choccy coins as well?!?

christmaseve · 22/12/2009 17:06

Belle, I stopped messaging a guy who was abroad, the spoiler, because he was saying things like that before we had even met. Too draining.

passmyglassplease · 22/12/2009 17:07

hi ya donttouch, as you can see I still lurk on here

nm and I are getting on fab, he has asked what would I like for xmas and I have told him to get what he thinks I would like, it should be interesting!

He was supposed to be away for the New Year but it looks like he may have to work now, its such a shame, he'll have to spend more time with me

How was your time in the big smoke?

christmaseve · 22/12/2009 17:08

DD's already gone through choccy coins. Will get some more. No point in smellies as she has loads from last year. She prefers plain old soap. She's a strange one

DONTtouchMUMSfestiveJUICE · 22/12/2009 17:13

london was good. just a daytrip.

belle - i find the comment about friends second and you first a bit weird considering you have never met. when will gb be back?

eve - house about some cinema vouchers?..funky stationary? mobile pendants? all that kind of gash you can get at whs or even abig supermarket these days?

christmaseve · 22/12/2009 17:18

Cinema vouchers, right up her street. I've spent quite a bit already so stocking will be a cheapy, not to mention the holiday we've just had.

Betty79 · 22/12/2009 17:26

belle-i agree with juice, it's a bit weird him saying that when u havent even met, and he knows about gb!

juice-anything new to report about irish today lol?

lou-£200 on food!

eve-good luck finding some stocking pressies!

pmg-glad everything is still going well for u

I've been feelin a bit crap today think it's a mixture of cold still lingering and late night last night lol need an early night i think but really got to get some wrapping done and am praying this snow stops as otherwise kids and i will be having fish fingers on our own for xmas dinner!

lou33 · 22/12/2009 17:31

217 to be precise

i have bought stuff to hopefully last towards new year just in case

we are meant to be going to my sisters place for boxing day, but the roads leading to her may be too bad, so also bought stuff in case

lamb, turkey, ham, chicken, prawns, fresh pasta, minced beef, booze, snacks, buffet type stuff, veg etc

soon added up

at least i am fully stocked

christmaseve · 22/12/2009 18:30

I'm expecting a grocery bill of about £60 and that's not including the £35 spent on turkey and trimmings. That's for one day, hopefully more, for 6 of us.

lou33 · 22/12/2009 18:56

omg i couldnt believe the price of turkey at sainsburys, mine was £18 for one to feed 6 ffs

my period just started so it will be interesting to see if i almost bleed to death again or not, after i have been taking the pills the gp gave me

mechanic has been informed of this factor and is still coming down to have dinner, bringing something to drink as well

he managed to get off work earlier today, but they ran out of grit so i will have to wait for the next load to come in

Betty79 · 22/12/2009 19:04

I'm lucky i havent had to buy a turkey as my mums is cooking, I did buy the food last year tho and have bought the veg this year

lou33 · 22/12/2009 19:10

i usually buy a frozen one tbh they are cheaper, i dont know why i didnt today

right well laundry is done, house is tidy still , kids are eating dinner, baileys is poured and my bath is awaiting

going to wrap some gifts later and watch a dvd whilst swigging some wine

cant wait

christmaseve · 22/12/2009 19:10

My turkey crown was £30 to feed 7-10 so should be eating leftovers all week.

My Dsis is doing boxing day party so not all work for me.

New friend hasn't been in touch . Will call him doorman, no he's not a bouncer, hope naming him will be a good sign.

Have a good night Lou and everyone else.

lou33 · 22/12/2009 19:26

maybe he will get in touch later eve, try not to fret too much

hopefully i will not be doing boxing day but it depends on the roads round here, if i make it to my sister (only a 15 min drive but lots of single track lanes with passing places so therefore rural and not gritted)

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/12/2009 19:27

evening all!!
can believe that for a grocery bill as i know that your kids like their grub just like mine do
it seems that most of my money goes on food lol
redeemed all my nectar points for groceries and filled the freezer with meat, fish etc,but still have the usual bits like fruit, veg, milk and bread to do

mechanic sounds a real star lou bringing the grit,dp just used table salt for me

irish is battling the snow. its really bad here.. and a really dodgy road.. and he's a terrible driver. ... to come round here tonight.

first time he's come to mine since OCT... and... kids are here in bed... yet it was still his idea to come round and he's obviously intending on staying over as he's asked whether i want white or red brought in with the dinner.

but... still think he'll realise snow is awful and not bother and just turn around.

so no doubt i'll be back later to moan about my food shopping bill.

which was £60 just for veggies etc.. fresh meat is ordered for thurs. that'll be about same.

i'm off for a shower and to panic and smoke 20 cigs till he gets here.... actually.. i'm flaming shattered and should have just said no.. i fancy going to bed early and i have AF

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/12/2009 19:45

see juice he's another keen one
hope you said that you couldn't decide so he'll have to bring both

gymboy is back today - his flight has been delayed thou by an hour still just had a long chat (10 mins! lol) which is ooh about 8 mins longer than the last 4 days. good news is he's not going back to wales till Thurs now so will deffo see him tomorrow (with a strong possibility of going shopping together during the day YAY!! am doing my well if we do we do if we don't we don't think still thou on it - ie no pressure i'll be here when you come back type thing.... might have to dust off some of my anne summers gear ) some of the sailors comments have got a bit well more.....

this is his latest one... ' i'm going to get funny on you now, so forgive me! you seem like a top lass I KNOW you're a top lass! a Tadge blonde beautiful & cute and puddles are a threat due to size lol. and if you weren't with someone you would have prob guessed I would be in there like a shot, and if he fucks up I will be! but you are also a top friend and someone I know I can talk to about anything and hope you feel the same x x'

My response....... HOW much exactly have you had to drink today he says 3 largers only - I'm saying after talking to gymboy no more. it's not fair when he's where my heart lies.

eve - new friend - which one is this? is this the 10 year old one? (we deffo need to keep names for new guys girls my brain can't handle it otherwise lol) 7-10 for dinner on xmas day? rather you than me - althou left overs and turkey sarnies/curry/salad/rolls etc etc are what it's all about!

glad you're seeing mech later lou. and hope those tablets work. Frozen turkeys are the way forward I tell you - honest it's easier to pull the giblets out with tongs if they're still frozen.

betty - sorry you're feeling poorly - and hey fishie fingers are good - esp when you have them with beans/spaghetti as well.

eve - i'm liking the cinema vouchers for things- or how about some mum owes you vouchers as she's 15?

juicy - how are you and irish today?

thesouthsbelle · 22/12/2009 19:47

that's far too many smileys there.

see juicy we all knew you n isish would get together again! lol. it's all good. I assume stopping means he'll meet the kids in the AM?
