perhaps tell him you feel awkward discussing it as not really for you to comment on. and he wont unload that sort of baggage on you so much so early on in the relationship.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:17

that's an appropriate way of dealing with it actually
and talking of baggage cheeky chops had lots
blimey speak of issooos with the ex
it's certainly made me wary of 'in the process of divorcing' men

i have big feet too. pita.

i find alot of tops/blouses which to come to meet tops of trousers are ridiculously short on me. sitting at my waist like a tank top

was trying on things in coast and they didn't even meet my trousers. when i sit down i end up with flashing my flesh at my back between top and trouser/skirt.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:20

Hmm I have lovely size 8's
very tricky to make them look good!
Coast is lush, have a beautiful wrap dress from there, hangs in all the right places
not too attractive with my trainers tho

ninah · 12/03/2009 14:24

thanks girls that's very diplomatic, I'll do that. I agree asbm, ideally I'd like someone a bit further down the line emotionally but I'll wait and see, this weekend should be quite telling. One thing, if it involves an overnight stay with his ex I'm out of it as that would involve a degree of patient understanding I no longer possess
Love coast! but more often in asda/help the aged these days

ridingjoker · 12/03/2009 14:25

i'm size 8 too. sky scrapers are the only way to make them look good. or flats with super long trousers

aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:28

oh lordy!
he cant be as bad as cheeky chops, boy does that man dislike his estranged wife
despite all efforts of mine to change the convo.he kept bringing her up
and then wanted to know about my exh
I mean pleeease are you really going to want to talk about that on a 1st date

OP posts:
ninah · 12/03/2009 14:28

I'm a 7! tho since living in the country and wearing wellies they seem to have spread am not so dramatically tall either so real clown feet

aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:29

actually I hate feet full stop unless they're my childrens!
it's the one part of my body I would willingly change

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:30

lol at ninah

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:32

actually it's crap for shopping where I live
all we have in my town is Next or Per Una
a proper trip means a trek to Brum

OP posts:
ninah · 12/03/2009 14:35

he is too Nice to dislike ex but think he's still emotionally hooked in, and that she was the decision maker in their relationship and has that role by force of habit even now. You know when you feel like saying oh grow a spine, and realise you are not being diplomatic? thankfully had run out of red wine or might not have been so sensible
He hasn't gone on about her to be fair, since first phone call which put me off royally -and have told him so
yeah feet are plain weird

ridingjoker · 12/03/2009 14:36

i was in glasgow.

here's where i tried and found zilch

frasers
debenhams
ted baker
diesel
reiss
coast
principles
monsoon
urban outfitters
zara
next
dp
topshop

my jacket was from julian macdonald at debenhams.

the stores in glasgow are excellent actually. big flagship stores. only place i've seen bigger is london.

ninah · 12/03/2009 14:36

that was a serious shopping session!

lou33 · 12/03/2009 14:37

asbm wrt the facebook status, he reckons i am the first one he will have met from online

ridingjoker · 12/03/2009 14:40

oh an internet virgin!!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:40

hmm.has she met someone else?
and does she know that he's seeing you?

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:41

or is he just a good old fashioned virgin

OP posts:
ridingjoker · 12/03/2009 14:42

ninah the beauty of glasgow is they are all close together. within 2 huge street really. buchanon and argyle. big streets. but you are going in and out the shops all way down street. and if you go through the lanes you come to the designer area(which i avoided as cant afford these days)

versace
cruise
escada and many more.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:42

Oh Lou!
this is obv.a real deal for him
good job he's meeting you then

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/03/2009 14:44

monsoon is a bit frumpy i find, but def. agree that some of the depts.in Debenhams are good

OP posts:
ninah · 12/03/2009 14:46

I have been to glasgow but not for a few years, and didn't do a lot of shopping was weekend break typy thing - really liked it. Great art gallery. Know the streets you mean. Really miss city life, used to live in London - sound of heels on pavements, decent shops, coffee bars, drinking in the early hours here it's all cows mud and teacosy hats

lou33 · 12/03/2009 14:47

i'm a 7 too

dont on the virgin thingy, i met one of those once, he told me when we met

no i didnt help him out and we are still good friends, he is 30 now, and last time we spoke he was asking me advice about doing the deed as he had met someone, and how to make it go well

i must find out what happened there and meet him for lunch actually

he's a lovely bloke and v good looking too, just had issues with the final stage, done everything else

i do hope he has managed to do it, i told him he was too hung up on it to relax, and he would probably be better off getting bolloxed and laid that way to relieve the stress of the first time in his head

but he isn't like that

ninah · 12/03/2009 14:50

yes I wouldn't fancy a virgin, my bf at college had to train one said he was rubbish, utterly bad but then he went away and must have read a book or something because he suddenly got the hang ... not for me, tho

ridingjoker · 12/03/2009 14:51

i like monsoon when i need a structured top as alot of their stuff has bones in them. but there's nothing just now. it's all very hippy style in there at the mo
