Ok just wondered.

One of the reasons that samename2 and I took so long to meet was that he wanted me to go his area then he would pick me up in his car. Although I thought he was mostly OK a bit of me was worried I was making myself too vulnerable if I did that. But then I thought I was being too cautious. Anyway he turned out to be OK but I made him come over to my area for first date (told him I had run of out petrol )

But meeting in the middle is a good idea.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 13/03/2009 12:25

SCL just a thought here as I was reminded of this when posting on another thread

will take an in depth look tonight but yep looks like some most of the men I am attracted to!! I suppose I want to be the one to change them.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 13/03/2009 12:52

hmm yes it helped me with that bastard LDR man
god I'm still so angry about what he put me thru thank goodness I wasn't in love with him

OP posts:
sincitylover · 13/03/2009 13:05

trouble is I think most men I have been involved with (since age 15) have been emotionally unavailable so perhaps I think its the norm.
exh was the most damaging tho.

I would probably feel most uncomfortable with a truly emotionally literate caring ordinary man - very sad!

I know with exh I just wanted him to show his vulnerable side.

At least exbf can do that. But its probably a hook!!

Sorry don't wish to sound negative - I just think I myself am prob own worst enemy - I have built up an external armour over the years.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 13/03/2009 13:14

I've been involved with a fair few for sure
It is hard not to break the cycle tho

hello, quick pop on. supposed to be doing housework.

trying desperately not to be convinced by minx of friends who have been sending me text all day encouraging me to drink tonight.

will power of steel.lol. i will be on top form for tomorrow!!

holly - police man is plain clothes. so no uniform

as for emotional armour. if i am entering a relationship purely to satisfy a sexual need. which i have been known to do if i'm looking to build up confidence after dodgy break up and have some fun being single...then i too will put on my armour.dont give away much, and tend to be very unpredictable.

however....if i am ready for a relationship then i dont wear it. tend to be very open.

sincitylover · 13/03/2009 13:55

what I have noticed from glancing studying some other women's profiles on my site (they have pics of men and women on the home page) is that some of them are quite specific and almost aggressive about what they want whereas I am not.

Prob because I want to go with the flow and ma looking for that certain undefinable way - I do have a type but I find if a bloke writes like that in his profile it is not attractive and comes across as quite bitter.

but perhaps I do have a problem with boundaries.

sincitylover · 13/03/2009 13:55

undefinable something

CrackerNut · 13/03/2009 14:02

I have come to the conclusion, that men on smooch.com cannot read.

It clearly states in my profile that I am looking for someone between 28-40, but I only seem to attract 45+.

So I change profile to say that anyone over 40 won't get a reply as i've been there and done that.

Since then i have still had loads of replies from over 40's and over 50's.

I am beginning to think it is me.

ridingjoker · 13/03/2009 14:07

on smooch can you not have mail setting preferences??

scl - what site you looking at? pof?

dollparts · 13/03/2009 14:27

I did worry that my profile was a little on the aggressive side but having had the nutjob perverts I've been subjected to I decided to be blunt about what I was looking for and hope it filters the numpties, pervs, chavs etc etc.

I figured that as so many of the responses are from the obviously thick-skinned, clueless morons I had nothing to lose. I'll see if it works then maybe tone it down if the freaks start to leave me alone.

sincitylover · 13/03/2009 14:27

I am looking at smooch but am also on pof.

Cracker you can search according to age but don't think you can limit who contacts you. I just don't reply if they are over a certain age or much younger than my lower limit.

And in fact hardly reply to any really.

sincitylover · 13/03/2009 14:28

I have also blocked about five people on smooch one of whom was serious stalker material.

Holly23 · 13/03/2009 14:28

Never mind RJ, have fun tomorrow anyway, what time are you meeting him?
I think most of the men are terrible spellers, read a few on pof just before lunch and they are truly awful!
CN - can't you change your profile settings or block the ones you don't like?

lou33 · 13/03/2009 14:55

aseriouslyblondemoment · 13/03/2009 15:05
