i think it's a great thread as it's so light hearted but relevent
I know that there are alot of serious issues that need to be addressed on MN but this one is just so positive which is how life should hopefully be as a lone parent
it should be all about the future and the future being for living and making the most of it

I used to put a tenner on my mobile (prepay) every 4 to 6 months. Texting included. Now it's £15 a month on one of my phones.

I prefer skype though.

I have used more texts this year (already) than I have in the last 3 years all together. Social texts only. Other texts are hobby related.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/03/2009 21:52

Evening all, been reading through the thread. I got really busy at work and then came home and decided to tackle the ironing after giving DS a bath! I've been reading through the thread for the last 30 odd mins.
N1 - thanks for your email
Inthemist - I wondered whether you'd been hasty with Bob, anyway pleased you've got another chance to reconsider.
NSM - welcome, hope you find some inspiration on this thread, like asbm said it is light hearted but very relevant to single parents situations and the whole dating thing, throw in children and of course it all seems quite daunting. I met someone on POF, nickname for him is fitguy or fittie. I met him last Saturday and were seeing each other again soon . Stay on this thread as you will get a lot of support and good luck with your potential nm.
Going back to earlier conversations, I like a guy to take a bit of pride in his appearance (but not in a metrosexual way!!) but personality is probably more important. Oh and someone as least like my exH as possible is a big bonus which fittie appears to be!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/03/2009 22:01

HI LOU!!!
look was so pleased to see you typed it in capitals
some welcome eh?
how are you doing?
i will email you also when i get my email probs.resolved
i blame my overflowing inbox on FRD lol
Evening Holly
oh god yes someone very unlike the exh is a big plus end of.

ooh N1 too many cyberwomen!

Just one woman who got that many texts. Most people are lucky to get more than one or 2 a week or sometimes a month.

Holly23 · 05/03/2009 22:07

bob, still hanging in there, have just had a very in depth conversation with him and we are possibly planning a weekend away in the future, god it all sounds so grown up!

N1, I have received the photos and will be passing it on to the others in the group, hopefully we will eventually manage to meet up!

Holly23 · 05/03/2009 22:12

NSM - what do you think about guys and waxing? we were talking about this earlier today.

N1 - whats your opinion on men who wax? is it something you've done or would consider doing?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/03/2009 22:13

I didn't cut my hair for 5 years. Someone who I was in court with a few months back was that bothered by my hair - so it was cut.....but not to short. It takes me less than 5 minutes to get ready, and I am not to fussed about how I look. As long as I am warm in the cold, I am ok.

Holly23 · 05/03/2009 22:16

Inthemist - sounds very grownup! good for you though.
NSM - looking good with nm, we need a nickname for him tho.
also going back to what you said about saggy tummies and all that, I feel the same!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/03/2009 22:18

N1 don't avoid the question you're not in court now!
not cutting your hair for 5 yrs will give us all Forrest Gump moments lol

ok hands up here on this thread who has given birth?

I think that is all of us cept N1, I am sure he would have liked to!

Hands up all of us who have body issues?

ok thats pretty much all of us, forget it, real people are not interested in the packageing ( although I will say it helps!) but about the person inside.

Anyway thats my take on it!

Night night, going to dream of ??????????

lou33 · 05/03/2009 22:21

Me wax?????? noooooo. Some people bleed from waxing and it looks painful. so count me out. If I was with a girl and she wanted me hairless - a possible solution would be for her to shave it off but that opportunity would come with a cost (and hopefully a deterrent). When my hair starts to grow back, I would itch and have possible ingrown hairs. Both need sorting and I am to lazy.....so the shaver would need to accept responsibility for that job, along with rubbing in the talk powder or cream or what ever it takes to keep the itch away. Decided before the hair comes off.

A bloke who waxes - errr, I think it's a bit to girly like. I guess each to their own but I can't see me joining the "waxing club".

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/03/2009 22:26
