It is Friday and as usual the dc will be off to their dads. I am extremely lucky that he has them overnight I know, but I hate the Friday evenings.

I do have stuff I can do like ironing and assembling flat pack furniture but neither are appealing lol.

Going out isn't an option.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Bubbly bath, pj's, dvd, wine

funkypumpkin · 07/11/2008 15:19

If you lived near me you would have been most welcome to join my friends and I for a drink as we are going out for a drink.

Agree with brightwell relax and pamper yourself.

IllegallyBrunette · 07/11/2008 16:50

Will definatly do the bath and bubbles thing, but not sure about the dvd, prefer to watch them with company.

No doubt i will resort to my default of mn and fb lol.

Good idea Mutt, but funds do not allow for anything like that at the mo however cheap it is.

Will keep it in mind for when I am a bit better off though

I just hate Fridays so much I wish i'd never suggested xp have them overnight at all.

Invite a mate round? Cheap bottle of wine?

ChasingSquirrels · 07/11/2008 17:43

what about going to the cinema? I am considering that myself for tonight. I am just about to start a week long down period (menstrual, I know it's coming, not alot I can do about it) so given that next time he has then I will be howling into my pillow I might as wel try and go out tonight.

lou33 · 07/11/2008 17:45

what about the cinema?

lou33 · 07/11/2008 17:45

oh i didnt see the last post lol

ChasingSquirrels · 07/11/2008 17:48

lol - shall we all go together!

Pinkchampagne · 07/11/2008 17:48

Crack open a bottle of wine, watch trashy TV, come on MN, enjoy the silence! I do kind of miss having my boys in the house when I am here alone sometimes, so kind of know where you're coming from. I often go to check on them, then realise they're not here! I do appreciate time out though.

IllegallyBrunette · 07/11/2008 17:48

Any other time of year i'd do it Mutt, but I am knee deep in 3 dc's birthdays and xmas so can't spare it.

Can't invite anyone round as no one to invite lol.

IllegallyBrunette · 07/11/2008 17:50

Can't go out as won't go alone, so thats out. I know I am a wuss but there you go.

Hopefully in a few weeks I will be working every friday evening so I won't have this problem.

You watch the offers come flooding in then, when I can't actually go.

OP posts:
ChasingSquirrels · 07/11/2008 17:51

why can't you go to the cinema alone? No one will no, it's not like sitting in the corner of the pub on your own.

ChasingSquirrels · 07/11/2008 17:52

no one will KNOW I meant.

IllegallyBrunette · 07/11/2008 17:55

I dunno, I just can't, i'd feel daft, and like what I am, a person with no one to go to the pics with.

OP posts:
lou33 · 07/11/2008 17:56

just get there last min and sneak in, noone will even notice you

IllegallyBrunette · 07/11/2008 17:59

Oh I know that, but i'd know, and i'd feel crap about it.

ChasingSquirrels · 07/11/2008 17:59

umm, that's how I feel - but this thread is making me more determined to go.
I haven't been to the cinema for YEARS, the last time was in Auckland in Jan 00 - ex wanted to go out, I was completely jet-lagged and knew I could go to sleep in the cinema. We went to a bond film and I fell alseep during the opening credits and woke up to the closing ones.
The time before that was when I went to Cairns on my own for a course and went to see 4 weddings and a funeral.
Off to look what's on.

lou33 · 07/11/2008 17:59

but once you get into the film you would forget that

you could scan the seats for a hot man to sit next to
