So. I am finally compiling the details for the Lone Parent Camping/Festival trip next summer. Any last stragglers want to join us?

He might be, but I don't take time off work in half term as his dad and my relatives can cover it, I have to save my hols for the long 6 weeks!

ah that makes sense!

Sorry I didn't mean to upset you. I haven't read the whole thread from teh begining but I guess I thought it was a camping trip and that the idea of linking it to a festival had come later. But if it's a festival you really want to do then go for it.

For me camping isn't my favourite thing but I would join in a camping holiday with other single parents as my son would love it.

Festival doesn't appeal to me and as I said looking at the prices I would rather spend the money on other options.

I do think you should finalise which one soon though as when I looked at some of the websites the tickets seemed to be selling outfast. Plus presumably you'd want the others going with you to be in the same camp area, so you're going to have to try and book together on some kind of level to get that. Would kind of defeat the objective to go with others that you weren't even in the same camp field with!

Wherever you go I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's not for me though I'm afraid

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/09/2008 18:50

Oh how I long for the days of going away whenever I felt like it, School is fab but trying to plan around hols is not

As I said earlier on the thread, I will be contacting the organisers of wherever we decide to go and asking them to put us all in the same field, but I think you'll find camping isn't allocated it's just as you arrive you find a spot.

Camp bestival sounds good to me, I'm south so even better. I forgot to add pillock I can probably now only do summer holidays anyways as I've started uni and don't get half terms.. but I get 7 weeks over summer

Will be looking at braving trains, if people who end up using public transport post their routes we might all be able to meet up and help each other out en route anyways.

Tinkerbel6 · 29/09/2008 12:47

Camp Bestival looks good, quite fancy that

PillockOfTheCommunity · 02/10/2008 21:49

I'm back

been away for work last week and this so not been able to do anything more on this.

Pillock - can I help in anyway, it is my families land they camp on.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 02/10/2008 21:55

then quite possibly yes!
I need to know best person/people to contact, if we choose to go there we'll all be booking tickets seperately but would really like to camp together so I need to find out if there's any chance of us having a corner reserved for us, or that sort of thing

OK will have a think the other thing I can do is have a chat to DH and go and corner off a piece of ground for you guys, we are staying with my sister at teh far end of camping field as the organisers are in my house so no problem to shoot our with tape and sit and be ferocious

PillockOfTheCommunity · 02/10/2008 23:08
