My only reservation with the Big Chill is that while it is more central in the country perhaps, actually there are far more South-based people planning to come.

I'm hoping that it will open in paint or similar? Or you can right click and select edit? Then you should have the options down the side so you can draw a circle or square or something over where you are?

Oh yes, how clever

Pillo have emailed you back, just playing with the map at the moment

undercovercat · 19/09/2008 11:18

Did you get my map back(charliecat/[email protected]) Sorry about the state of it!

nappyaddict · 19/09/2008 12:34

have sent mine back - not sure i put my dot in exactly the right place but it's close enough.

FlightAttendent · 19/09/2008 13:17

Could someone really kind and sweet please convert the map into a word document maybe, and send it to me so that I can open it?

My pc says it hasn't got the right type of file to open it iyswim. I'm not sure what it needs.

FlightAttendent · 19/09/2008 13:18

Also how do you get 'paint'? I would love to have a painting program on here

Can you download it from somewhere?

undercovercat · 19/09/2008 17:14

can you save it?THEN when you click on it...then OPEN WITH, and select something from a list?
Thats what i did...
I have no idea where i got paint from...it just appears to be on the laptop.

FlightAttendent · 20/09/2008 08:41

There are no details set as yet but we are looking for festivals during the summer hols next year. There is no official signing up as such so feel free to email me and get added to the list so you get all the updates, I won't force you at gunpoint to follow through

I don't envisage there ever being a 'sign up' as such, I kinda thought we'd just decide as a group where we were going then purchase our own tickets for wherever we decide on, and once we've all done that I'll contact the organisers and ask if we can all camp in the same area, although I guess they might say we just have to turn up early enough to do that ourselves!

Can I come too please? Have just emailed offering to share my tents!!!

Debra1981 · 21/09/2008 00:56

Can I interest anyone in Endorse-it as it sounds similar but looks to be cheaper than Bestival? I can't get the info for next year but suspect it will be similar, this year it was 8-10 Aug, £75 per adult £40 for 10-15yos and £10 for under 10s. Latitude in Suffolk (slightly more north) also looks lots of fun but is same cost as Bestival.

nappyaddict · 21/09/2008 10:50

Green Man is quite cheap too - £95 per adult.

nappyaddict · 21/09/2008 10:57

Oh and Sunrise Celebration is £100 per adult, £25 for 5-15 year olds and free for under 5's.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/09/2008 11:03

I have emailed round the link for Endorse It already, it was the lack of detail that put me off but I did sign us up to the mailing list so will get the details when they come out I guess.

If you want to suggest other festivals that's great, but can you email me the link to their websites so that I can just forward it on to everyone?

does anyone know anthing about the off the tracks festival?

my friend has just booked tickets for the end of the road festival at £90 per adult but it is 11-13 september so probably no good for a lot of people?

there's womad but there's no details up yet.

The taste festivals are meant to be good too.

nappyaddict · 21/09/2008 11:26

oh there's also wychwood at £95 per adult but i'm not sure if it fits in with the may half term or not.

gillybean2 · 21/09/2008 11:30

Some of the prices look a bit steep to me for a camping holiday. I know it includes the festival and things, but wouldn't we be better off doing a block booking at butlins or a hoseasons camp even?

Not trying to throw a spanner in the works sorry but for not much more that the festival prices ds and myself had a week on a farm in wales in a self catering cottage (own bedroom but shared bathroom/kitchen/lounge) and that was a lone parent holiday too. If i'm going to spend around £300 I think i'd go for the week's lone parent holiday option again sorry

I went with a lone parent group to a hoseasons place in Hemsby Norfolk this year at easter and the 'chalets' (more of a shed but had a decent kitchen and two bedrooms plus a sofa bed) were around £100 for a chalet that slept a family of up to 6 people for a week and included a kids club every morning, indoor pool and evening entertainment! They had a lot of empty chalets then too. Price does go up quite a bit in the summer hols though. Was a bit basic and probably wouldn't choose to go there on our own, but as a group it was great and the kids loved it.

Just a thought...

nappyaddict · 21/09/2008 11:36

oops forgot to include links for some of them.
