Who else would be up for an MN Lone Parent Festival camping trip? Or are Pillock and Ate just a little bit crazy ......

Whooooo, Pillock! You've been busy

lunavix · 22/07/2008 21:04

quite like the look of bestival, camp bestival, end of the road and endore it.. will look at the rest

don't forget glasto and the big chill

lunavix · 22/07/2008 21:07

oops just seen big chill

larmer looks ok but can't see anything for kids

lunavix · 22/07/2008 21:08

oooh furness and latitude look good

lunavix · 22/07/2008 22:14

oh and ATE -

where is the tannery you get the cheap sheepskins from? I'd -love- some but can't find any bargain ones nowhere near

prettyfly1 · 23/07/2008 17:16

some of those look really good - still well up for this

PillockOfTheCommunity · 23/07/2008 20:01

Glastonbury scares me a bit because of the size of it

According to the mag, Larmer Tree have "the Larmer Lawns with children's theatre, teddy bears' picnic, a circus and a Sunday carnival." "There are also award winning toilets as well as emergency procedures for lost children."

Latitude is over my way, is smaller and supposed to be really good, but wouldn't be so easy for those using Public Transport to get to as the place itself has no train station, although they do provide shuttle buses that go from the nearest main station to the site.

Smallest ds is poorly, has gone back to sleep after being dosed up on Nurofen and Calpol. Trying to take my mind off feeling quite so helpless because he doesn't understand

Yell.com findings for Tannery in UK

They are all over the place, just have to hope there's one near you!

totally agree PoftheC, small is good
pmsl at Award Winning Toilets!
Like the sound of Latitude but happy with anything on the smaller side.
Hope your ds better in morning.

Hey man, I might be up for it. Anyone decided on a particular festival yet. I have car, tent, equipment and a DD who will be 15 next year and can help with the little ones. Keep me posted.

stukkaroo · 23/07/2008 20:10

oh yes yes yes!ive got a 4yr old girl, and weve gone by ourselves every year since she was 1!!a bit tricky at times but with a group it SO MUCH FUN! its theBEST for kids i reckon!

stukkaroo · 23/07/2008 20:14

p.s endorseit, big green, and womad have all been good so far....I reckon though the smaller, the better. and also more local ones.
Glastonbury is just STRESS, unless youve got teenagers who can look after themselves....
Big chill has got rather big, and Larmer tree rather expensive.....but thats just my opinion

stukkaroo · 23/07/2008 20:16

oh,and big green has just gone bust.oops

Not a lone parent but have just done Camp Bestival and it was fab, didn't camp cos we live there but had friends who did and they all enjoyed it, small festival, huge amount to do for children of all ages, local train station and free transportation for festival goers.
