Hi. Single Parent Dad. That has just started a blog

Hi.

I'm a single parent dad. Sadly I'm a widower that is raising a young boy. I'm also a freelance writer and have started a blog about my experiences that may be of interest to parents that use this forum.

Please visit me for more info and I would love if you would drop in some comments.

BTW - you may want to reconsider using SPD as your sign off - the intials also stand for a rather painful pelvic disorder some of us Ladies had in Pregnancy

This forum has already sucked me in to comment on a few other subjects. But it's so vast, so many subjects and so little time. Looks like a great resource for comment from other parents.

Yes it is, wheter you want to hear it or not, you will get an honest opinion and a laugh if that is what you want.

Pick a few subjects and find your feet then dive into active convos. Any thoughts on how to cook a jacket spud? I just had the most response to a post ever - about a potato

Various promises have been made, and believe me, bribery has been tried extensively.

BTW Jacket Spuds, keep them in the oven and away from that horrible microwave. Patience is the key to a quality spud!

think I'm going to enjoy reading your blog

fwiw: toilet training my girls was a breeze, but my son is totally different. He seems to take great pleasure in weeing anywhere BUT his potty (daddy's chair, mummy's cup of tea, sister's doll....) am still working on him. Some advice I got was to put a ping pong ball in the potty and encourage them to "aim" for it

I don't envy you potty training a boy, my Sisters 2 were both dreadful - I have the wee stains behind my sofa to prove it! Her youngest was 3 when DD was born, the first time they visited he weed in 3 separate places! We think it was a bit of jealousy that he was no longer the baby in the family.

Here's hoping the theory that Girls are easier works for us!

Very good stuff. Have had a quick butchers on your site Misdee and have left you a comment on your latest post. Heart Surgery is something I can relate to, as my late Wife had valve replacement surgery 6 months before she died. Will most definatley be back for a more detailed look when I can.
