Lie to whom ?

crokky · 12/08/2007 22:02

truth!

fryalot · 12/08/2007 22:03

I don't think 2 years is anything to be ashamed or embarrassed about.

And if you are lying to a new potential partner, if it gets serious then you will get found out and that's no basis for a good relationship.

Good luck

fransmom · 12/08/2007 22:03

is it anyone's business(sp?) but yours? then you wouldn't have to lie or let someone know.

snowwonder · 12/08/2007 22:04

sorry to a bloke....

ok will go for the truth....

thankyou

ok snowwoman, sorry i didn't understand properly. could i ask why the question came up?

nutcracker · 12/08/2007 22:05

I'd say tell the truth, can't see that it matters how long it as. Good luck

snowwonder · 12/08/2007 22:09

well i asked him how long he has been single and he told me 5 months, and asked how long i had been single.....

it is my thinking, that when you come out of a long term thing you need time to get over it, and not jump into somrthing else straight away - although thats works for some, (like my ex who gets married next week)

but i def needed time alone to re adjust, and accept things.....

i will go for the truth, and hope he doesnt think it is because no one else wants me, obviously in the 2 years i have had to turn plenty of lush men away!!!! (in my dreams)

you were just readjusting your standards maybe but i do agree that after coming out of a long relationship i too needed time to come to terms with things.

snowwonder · 12/08/2007 22:15

thanks fransmom good answer!!!!!!!!

i will go for it, if he soent like then move along for the next one

fransmom · 12/08/2007 22:21

good for you

brightwell · 12/08/2007 22:21

I don't think admitting to 2 years is a problem. It takes a while to get over a relationship and to readjust to your new life.

allgonebellyup · 13/08/2007 10:23

snowwonder, dont worry, i dont think 2 yrs is that long anyway - i am sure i will be alone for at least the next ten years..

tell the truth so you dont get caught out later..
hope he is a nice bloke? how did you meet?

Nymphadora · 13/08/2007 13:22

I was on my own for almost 6 years!
I admitte dto it with bf but he knew I hadbeen single for years anyway.

Pinkchampagne · 13/08/2007 13:25

I would tell the truth, definitely. I don't think 2 years is that long to be on your own.

snowwonder · 13/08/2007 21:50

thanks all

didnt put him off.....

he asked me out....... so i may be going on a date
