Hatesponge · 19/01/2011 10:31

lou, fantastic news re DD1, well done to her! What is she studying? Am sure she will have a fab time whatever...some of my fondest memories are from my uni days :)

tookool - am impressed by list of prospective dates! I have to say I can't do anything midweek, I'm always too tired from work and my 3 hour commute :( re the weekends, easier said than done I know, but do you have any friends who could have your DD overnight? Is she of an age where she could (conveniently) have a sleepover at one of her friends? I have managed to do this with one or both DSs in the past, the only downside being when I then have to have a houseful of boys for the return sleepovers.....

nothing doing on the dating front here. went for a job interview yesterday so that has distracted me from dating woes for the time being :)

Flame · 19/01/2011 10:39

Yes congratulations Lou :o

Bananaman is changing to FBS as it is easier to type Wink. Going now. Argh!

lou33 · 19/01/2011 10:45

thanks, she has to wait to see if she has other offers before she accepts, as it wasnt her first choice, but it still means as long as she gets the grades then she has a place to start somewhere at least!

she will be doing film/media studies

proud mum here Grin

sincitylover · 19/01/2011 10:58

congrats to your dd lou

sponge do you get train to work are you still in mini manhattan? - that must be an awkward journey

ASBM - think it's partially the time of year.

was talking to friend last night - the start to my ny (apart from work) has actually been ok mainly due to going to theatre on first day back to work, going to panto, winning £9 (I know it's not much but its the shape of things to come) and ll sending plumbers round to fix the crumbling bathroom. I'm easily pleased me!!

Just trying to maintain PMA at the mo'

Remotew · 19/01/2011 11:13

Lou, will DD1 be starting this September at Uni? If so doubly congrats that she has got in at the right time.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 19/01/2011 11:20

pmsl lou that's exactly what i was thinking about your fuckwit exh!
really thrilled to hear the news, enjoy your proud mum momentSmile
scl think we're missing the lovely juice and her dating antics on this thread tbh

Remotew · 19/01/2011 11:31

Juice is long gone now Grin. She was a multiple dater, sometimes meeting a blind date for coffee then another one straight after, but she kept an open mind didn't angst over every one of them.

persephonesnape · 19/01/2011 11:47

congratulations lou! bet you're bursting with pride.

:)

aseriouslyblondemoment · 19/01/2011 11:51

oh but her whole approach to it was great, she just didn't get anxsty at all did she?
and some of the fellas she met too!Grin
i do miss hearing about her dates esp the ones with strange habits

lou33 · 19/01/2011 12:45

Ooh now she just got an offer from another uni, so that's 3 offers from 2 unis (she has been offered places on 2 different courses from one place)
She messaged her father yesterday but afaik he hasnt replied.

I am extremely proud of her!

Zanywany · 19/01/2011 14:01

Congratulations on your DD's uni offers Lou

What is it about men on POF that makes them send strange messages to me. Just had an offer of a few drinks, sex and then go home to our normal lives until the next 3 weeks when we can do it again. WTF.
On the brightside I have a date (unless he cancels due to my lack of interest) on Saturday with fairycake guy

lou33 · 19/01/2011 15:09

thanks, we are delighted Grin

now for my bad news

that bloody exh of mine has emailed me with a letter attached from his solicitor

the divorce papers have been returned to them because he forgot to fill in one part, and they forgot to fill in another ffs

so now he has to go do it again, apparently i can drop him down there when i am passing his way Hmm

Flame · 19/01/2011 17:19

We seem to be collecting friends on dating sites Hmm. Download is back to being chatty again.

FBS was really nice. Walked, he was good with DD2, quick peck saying goodbye and been texting all afternoon. Will see him again :)

Flame · 19/01/2011 17:44

Lol so Download appears to have changed his mind. I have no idea how I am going to cope with the juggling men thing.

persephonesnape · 19/01/2011 18:52

it's a really weird thing that Flame, a delicate balance- i mean, i'd like an element of frisson....and it's important to me to actually like someone, as a bit of a mate before the knicker-dropping....but...come on - a bit of flirting doesn't go amiss...

Janos · 19/01/2011 20:57

Wow lou congratulations due to your DD1!Proud mum time indeed Grin You must both be over the moon.

Shame about your xh being a tosser re divorce but don't let it overshadow DD1s achievement. F him and the horse he rode in on (etc).

asbm, good to see you too. What are you up to these days? Agree r ejuice, she had some great stories, didn't she.

Man front - Still can't be arsed with dating, not got the energy for it any more; quite happy, nice to see whats going on with everybody tho :)

Janos · 19/01/2011 20:58

Flirting is great fun persephone! Think I've forgotten how to do it tho.

Hatesponge · 19/01/2011 21:16

I don't think I've ever known how to flirt.

Wonder if I'm too old to learn? Grin

lou33 · 19/01/2011 21:21

Never too old sponge!

Mzdemeanourunderthemistletoe · 19/01/2011 22:18

christ sponge if you're too old, I am positively geriatric - so no, not too old ....

Zanywany · 19/01/2011 22:18

Loving your comment Janos F him and the horse he rode on Grin

I just got a txt from the guy who cancelled on me, before we had even met, because I wasn't interested in him enough. Anyway he is being all chatty and asking if I want to meet. wtf I had to remind him that he was sending nasty messages so I get lots of apologies and x. I'm running for the hills

elastamum · 19/01/2011 22:49

Ohh zany stay away Hmm

Having an interesting night! Have just had a chat with physio and are going to arrange to meet up nxt week. Sounds really nice on the phone but not sure he will be my type.

Have also had a few messages from gorgeous man with lovely blue eyes who says he thinks I am really attractive and wants to meet me. So am going to give him a go too, although he does live a bit of a hike away.

And then there is always radioman, who bought me dinner last night and now wants to be my friend...... Grin

StellaBrillante · 19/01/2011 23:06

Freaking hell! I've had this Italian guy semi-stalking me and guess what? Just as I was considering deleting my profile from POF (yep, I always chicken out before anything happens), can you believe that I got a message from the same guy?!?! Bloody hell! For starters, how on earth did he find me? I've even put down a different town for goodness sake. OK, so maybe he wasn't looking for me at all but just selected a wider search range but still... I feel...humiliated?!?! He's read my profile (which pretty much says 'no tattoos, no bad english, bla, bla, bla). Argh, this is SOOOO embarassing!!!

Flame · 19/01/2011 23:15

Shock I am having a conversation with a man who cares about grammar and punctuation. :o I am a little in love.

StellaBrillante · 19/01/2011 23:20

those are seriously hard to come by flame!
