Local pub. Jeans, converse and a vest top. tis "me".

Have text Carrot to let him know (promised each other we would).

hatesponge · 09/11/2010 18:11

Good luck for tonight with man a :)

work bearable today but still feel rather sad about wm. i wish i understood why it was no. if it's all about looks then i can dismiss him as an idiot. but if that's not the reason what is? he liked me enough to spend months texting me. but not enough for even one date :(

lou33 · 09/11/2010 18:24

Did he say no to a birthday drink sponge?

Janos · 09/11/2010 18:29

Wahey lou! How are you wearing 'em?

hatesponge, what happened with this guy - is it all upthread?

flame - good luck with man a

WingWoman · 09/11/2010 18:33

I don't understand wm :(

WingWoman · 09/11/2010 18:58

Carrot has told me to have fun, but not too much, and to think of him the whole time. Hmm :o. This is insane.

hatesponge · 09/11/2010 20:07

Janos the (v brief) backstory to wm is we met at mutual friend's wedding in the summer. sort of became friends after that, but never sure if he saw me as more...

so as it's his birthday this week, thought i'd ask him for a drink and find out one way or the other.

so i asked him to come for a drink having already found out he had no plans to celebrate and was free that evening. he said no, he didn't want to.

i then asked him if it was that he didn't want to go for a bday drink, or not for a drink at all.
the text was delivered so i know he got it. but he didn't reply. i've never asked him a question by text that he hasn't replied to til this, nor one he hasn't replied to within a couple of hours at most. sadly, his silence speaks for itself. twas all a waste of time :(

Janos · 09/11/2010 20:22

sponge, I'm really sorry. What an arse. I'd be really hurt & feeling quite pissed off if that happened to me :(

kdk · 09/11/2010 20:35

sponge - I'll go and kick his ass for you if you like although he's not worth your time especially if he hasn't even got the decency to reply and say what he's saying no to ...

Janos · 09/11/2010 21:02

Exactly kdk. I would prefer even a blunt no thanks (not that I would be delighted to get it mind you) to just being ignored.

Talking of which, I texted bloke from Sunday who seemed massively keen earlier, just to say how are you and looking forward to seeing you again - no response. This after 2 messages (from him) and a phone call yesterday. Oh well.

WingWoman · 09/11/2010 21:24

Fabulous. I now want Carrot even more. :( Perfectly nice guy, but not carrot.

WingWoman · 09/11/2010 21:44

wm really is a twat.

I said I would see man a again. He seems nice enough but if I say he is a salesman i think it tells a lot... I felt like he was pitching himself to me. Plus he was very feely.

Not texting Carrot. Seeing him tomorrow night and we normally text during the day. He can stew a bit.

Janos · 09/11/2010 21:47

Feely on first date WW? Yuck! (Unless it's been made clear feelyness is welcome, or required even :))

MaMoTTaT · 09/11/2010 21:50

ewww at feely on first date.

lou33 · 09/11/2010 21:51

Sorry To hear that sponge its really shit of him to string you along as he has.

On another note i have to tell you that my oldest has an actual real date tomorrow.

Woohoo!

She is not giving much up tho dammit

MaMoTTaT · 09/11/2010 21:52

ooooo exciting stuff about your oldest Lou Grin

btw - did you see my update earlier about the CP Grin - I'm so relieved, actually relief doesn't even begin to cover it.

kdk · 09/11/2010 21:54

I think you should bin the veg, Flame, unless you can both agree on what your 'relationship' is .... to me, looks like you run the risk of getting badly hurt if he finds someone who meets his needs - although I have to say I don't really understand what they are ....

Are you unwilling to have more kids/get married again? Has he said he only wants to get seriously involved with someone who hasn't had kids/been married before coz sounds a bit excuse-like to me ...

Because I for one am finding the whole thing really confusing - if you like each other, go for it, don't try to define what it is or where it's going or what might happen - just accept it for what it is and live in the moment.

Remotew · 09/11/2010 21:58

I was chatting to someone from POF this past week, chatted to him about a year ago, but I think he disappeared on me. He sent me a message last week and we exchanged a few, I waited a few days for a reply and he did apologise but I wasn't getting any encouragement or positivity from him so thought I would reply but didn't rush. I've been logging in and out today mainly to check out usernames with colleagues who are also on POF.

He sent me a message tonight to say he noticed I'd been online but ho hum I haven't replied. I was going to reply later as I've had stuff to do, then when I logged on again he sent another message to tell me I was a fake which he suspected all along and that he was out of my league anyway! Shock. I wrote a curt reply back to explain and it didn't go through, he's blocked me! What a fecking cheek!

Glad I've started chatting to someone else now.

Janos · 09/11/2010 21:59

lou Grin

Exciting news about DD1. It's a milestone!

MaMoTTaT - what is/was CP? I saw your post upthread, something to do with your ex? Sorry If I've missed something.

WingWoman · 09/11/2010 22:00

Oh yay Lou :o

It wasn't excessively feely and backed off when I moved etc, went for a full on snog which i turned into a peck, and again no issue. Just kept thinking back to that first date with carrot where I desperately wanted him to touch me and he gave me such a lovely gentlemanly kiss on my cheek. I was extremely sex deprived then though. Prob would have jumped this guy six weeks ago purely because he was willing!

He managed to slip in how much he earned and property he owned but i felt it was all a pitch. his emails were much more gentle. he could just be that he turns into tigger with nerves.

Freaky thing though... we worked together before dc!!! Same floor diff depts. I KNEW he looked familiar!

Janos · 09/11/2010 22:01

eve - what a cheeky bastard! Maybe you should flag up his post to POF?

Sounds like you had a lucky escape if he's that petulant.

Janos · 09/11/2010 22:03

WW - have you only known carrot for 6 weeks then?

MaMoTTaT · 09/11/2010 22:04

Janos - CP= Child Protection. They had to be informed because of twatarses nonsense a couple of weeks back (kids absolutely fine but could potentially not have been)

Had them heavily involved last year aftr the incident with exH when he was ill (which we - CP and I - did dicuss briefly on the phone today) and although once past the initial SW things were fine it was a horrid horrid time.

I was absolutely dreading having them back in my life again, so mightily relieved that it was a very short, very friendly, phone call which was "case open", 2 minutes to discuss what I'd said with her superior, call back to me "case closed they're happy I'll make the decision that are best for the boys"

WingWoman · 09/11/2010 22:06

I think we're both coming out of this hurt kdk.

I was meant to be rebound girl as much as he was meant to be rebound guy. It went wrong. It is all very well falling for ME but I come with 3 children. I can understand why he has backed away from that. Its a bit like wine... it tastes good, feels good, we know it isn't what we will want in the morning but we still get the next bottle.

It is stupid. We will be strong enough to stop it eventually, but not now...
