Hi all

just working out logistics for 12th - I can get there for 7.30 - is that about right?

Flame, do stay, you are v welcome. Let me know if you want to come via mine before we go out or meet at the bar with your bag (Raf collecting us in car)

I am so looking forward to this Grin

lilac21 · 02/11/2010 10:19

Morning all

7.30 is fine for me, though earlier is no problem. Dress code? How glam are we? Grin

Text from soldier this morning, he was working past midnight and v apologetic, so I've got my :) back.

aurorastargazer · 02/11/2010 10:27

i can't go Sad

sincitylover · 02/11/2010 10:31

I would prob get there a bit earlier and would have to leave early I think unfortunately.

Is anyone on Smooch - they now want you to put your weight on your profile for all to see - aren't alot of people quite sensitive about this (either way) - I have put a weight on there for now but thinking of removing my profile.

AIBU?

mummyilubyou · 02/11/2010 10:42

YANBU Sin, I think that is not something that should be on a profile personally

hatesponge · 02/11/2010 11:22

Have realised I'm off work on the 12th so can get there as early as needed - 5ish? will be pleasantly merry pissed by time MILY arrives Grin

SCL agree re the weight thing; totally unnecessary imo, I think asking you to describe body shape is absolutely as far as it should go. and thats nothing to do with the fact I am overweight - back in the (distant) days when I was a shapely size 12 I still weighed between 10 and 11 stone, and theres no way I would have wanted men to know that!

mummyilubyou · 02/11/2010 11:40

I may well get there earlier, depends on how quickly I can drop the girls for their sleepover and jump on the train

kdk · 02/11/2010 11:50

Hi all

SCL think there's an option of tell you later (yeah, like never!)

POF guy has responded by sending me his mobile number asking me to call if I have any spare time.

BTW check out yellowbubble if you fancy a laugh!

And depending on whether my mum is happy to start babysitting earlier rather than later could probably get there about sixish.

Remotew · 02/11/2010 12:22

KDK, result! Are you going to ring?

TweetTweet · 02/11/2010 12:52

i liked your message. :) Carrot had a song quote on his so think i finished the quote as my intro. he sent a message to me saying there were no decent arm related jokes.

If i could come to you first MILY that would be good as Im driving up.

:( for the horse

sincitylover · 02/11/2010 13:47

Oh Yes there is the 'ask me' option - it just threw me because when I logged on last night it asked me to fill all that in.

So I got all Les Dawson huffy over nada LOL

Don't really know why I'm bothering as I have become too world weary to date anyone. eg just had a mail from someone who said if I fancy a chat sometime to contact him - there was nothing that stood out about him to make me want to.
It said on his profile he was bald and worked in IT.

KDK - are you going to ring the guy from pof - he looked quite quirky - presumably an 'artisan' carpenter - I sorta need somewhere in the middle of him and the bald IT bloke Grin

not metrosexual not neanderthal.

kdk · 02/11/2010 13:55

what do you reckon to him? Shall I send a message?

Have just decided to go for it in terms of sending messages to guys I think look (remotely) possible rather than wait for them to contact me. Am supposed to be going on dates at some time with two guys of girlsdateforfree - will dig them out for you all to have a laugh look at. They both asked me for a drink before I went on holiday but I asked to raincheck - now not sure whether I should contact them or wait for them to contact me!

hatesponge · 02/11/2010 13:58

yes kdk ring him! and then update us Grin

kdk · 02/11/2010 14:00

Sorry - should be datingforparents - look for jaqueverde and pharmacy123 from girlsdateforfree.

TweetTweet · 02/11/2010 14:02

i like his profile kdk

hatesponge · 02/11/2010 14:08

sorry the ring him bit was in relation to the one from yesterday :)

as to this one, yes send a message. nothing ventured etc!

and as to the dfp ones if they seem normal ish then why not rearrange drinks as well?!

at this rate I will be the only singleton left Grin

mummyilubyou · 02/11/2010 14:11

Tweet, what is the best way to get in touch to give you directions etc? am on FB, how do I find you?

kdk · 02/11/2010 14:19

sponge - how do you fancy checking this out? I've been thinking about it but wouldn't want to go on my own - just like going to a bar but at least you know that most/some are there to meet people so not too embarrassing to make eye contact etc - or am I kidding myself? And what do we reckon to Stephen Fry's comments re sex and women - have to say that at times in the last six years I would have even shagged the man himself even on Hampstead Heath so think I for one don't believe him!

hatesponge · 02/11/2010 14:46

kdk yes I'd give it a go, I wouldnt go on my own either - although I cant really do midweek, do they ever do anything on a Friday/Sat?

Re SF, I dont believe him either, far too much of a generalisation.

sincitylover · 02/11/2010 14:55

no sponge think I will be the last one left

(shall I turn the lights out?)

KDK - think the one from POF looks alright.

As for Stephen Fry - I don't think he knows what he's talking about - have been reading through the other threads on that and really have never traded sex for shelves or to keep someone happy or as the price I pay for being in a relationship.

Ive always liked (loved) sex for sex sake but the difference is that I would pick my partners carefully for safety reasons (tho when young did a few risky things) and when I can't use BOB. Grin

He also does gay men a disservice by suggesting they all hang around in public places looking for casual sex.

I have also been in two long term live in relationships (one lived with and one married) where my sex drive was alot higher than the mans.

kdk · 02/11/2010 16:08

Just had this message on a website
'Hi there,

I'm getting in touch on behalf of Women's Only magazine, who are doing a short feature on women who are divorced and now happily dating.

Fees are usually paid upon feature...

Please get in touch ASAP if you would like to be a part of this, or if you would like any more information.

I look forward to hearing your stories!

Best wishes,

Grace'

Anyone want to take part - I would but can hardly describe myself as 'dating' more 'hoping to date' given a fair wind and the existence of Father Christmas and the tooth fairy Grin

lou33 · 02/11/2010 16:20

afternoon everyone

just placemarking and popping in to say i wont be able to come on the 12th, sorry

VonUberwald · 02/11/2010 16:41

Before he pulled his twitter account SF said that the quote was a misquote from another interview that had already been taken out of context. I believe him as he has reacted so strongly.

MILY - will send you a message.

VonUberwald · 02/11/2010 16:41

Nooooooooooooooo lou!

lou33 · 02/11/2010 18:37

i said sorry :(
