Restaurant with atmosphere London

Me and DH have a night away this Saturday in London and we’re looking for a nice restaurant to go to. We like Le Petit Maison, Zuma, Scott’s but would like somewhere with a bit of atmosphere. Nothing too crazy but something lively would be good as we haven’t been out together in ages. Any recommendations welcomed 🙏🏻

Amazonico on Berkeley Sq. Great food and drinks. Super fun vibe. DJ later

Brasserie Zedel, but don't tell anyone else.

This is my recommendation too, love it.

What about Randall & Aubain in Soho, it’s quite lively and great food

AzurePanda · 08/05/2025 05:04

Sexy Fish also like eating in a nightclub but I’ve always had good food there.

I think it's too late not to tell anyone else about Brasserie Zedel. Another eating in a nightcub vibe! It's really hard to find place where you can hear yourself talk while you eat. Oh, I know it's not the hippest place (although it does have a cocktail bar), but Skylon has always been a good bet. If there are just the two of you, you are likely to get a window seat overlooking the Southbank.

Or Maison Francois. And if you want a pre-dinner drink, the downstairs cocktail bar is fun and very old-school (in an elegant way).

Thanks for all the recommendations. Someone said do we want somewhere with lots of people and loud music- not at all! By atmosphere I mean somewhere buzzy, not nightclub vibes! One of our faves was always Clos Maggiore, haven’t been for a while so not sure if it’s still as good and it’s very romantic but wanted somewhere maybe a little more upbeat on this occasion.

Just to share another place that’s been recommended to me in real life- Fallow. Too late now to get a reservation but as we’re sharing recs k thought I’d pass on!

Agree, food is good but not somewhere I’d rush back to. I’ve been for drinks in the bar with girlfriends and it’s good for people watching but a bit pretentious

Oh I loooove it there. Especially outside on a warm night. But I think OP might be looking more high end. Thanks for reminding me it existed though might go this month!

I’d completely forgotten about Lambs Conduit Street! I used to go there a lot back in the day as I worked around the corner. Always loved going there

I did not like Bob Bob City, it was awful!

I didn’t really rate either of the Bob Bobs! I do think this is the problem when places become really popular, they don’t live up to the hype!

Brasserie Zedel, but don't tell anyone else.

That's my suggestion too! It's really special and sort of a secret place.

Dazedandconfusedma · 08/05/2025 10:33

Ohh what about The Clove Club - spent but fancy food and buzzy

I really dislike London and I think it's so overrated. And always so crowded, and don't get me started on the Tube and the behaviour of people on there. No wonder people are always so naturally angry and anxious and on edge. Such utter rude behaviour. I tend to not go as much as possible.

How does that answer the OP's question??!!

Sorry but it’s really not secret! Been famous for years!

I meant how it's underground like you dont know it's there from above

KnickerFolder · 08/05/2025 11:16

If you like Yauatcha and are considering Lucky Cat, I definitely think my previous suggestion of Hakkasan fits the bill and is nicer than both of them! It feels quite intimate and it is also quite quiet even when it is full so you can have a conversation rather than feeling like you are eating in a nightclub 😂

It doesn’t fit with what you want this time, the restaurants are much more casual, but as Exnouth Market and Lambs Conduit Street have come up, I will add Shepherd Market to the list of good spots for restaurants.

I have been to Rules recently and loved it. My daughter loved Sketch.

cathyandclaire · 08/05/2025 11:17

Arlington - the old Le Caprice is one of our favourites

Sessions Arts Club if you can get a reservation. You'll love it, everyone I've ever taken does. And convenient if you're on Lizzie line. Repeat my recco for shakfuyu although not been for ages. Agree with you on Fallow. Lovely.

oceanaus · 08/05/2025 16:16

Ooh I did think of somewhere I’ve always liked the look of- Daphnes. Anyone been?

redcord · 08/05/2025 16:36

I've not been to Daphne's but that looks lovely! Also second Sessions (although I am more of a SW person). Also in SW, new opening Wildflowers is getting all the love, although maybe not the atmosphere you want.
