Bad vibes in certain places in london

Does anyone else just get a horrid feeling in certain places in london?

The only one that particularly freaks me out is Russel Square tube station. I feel so much sadness and get quite on edge down on the platforms and I don't know why! Does anyone else feel this way about anywhere in London?

Really! I quite like Russel Sq. Get yourself down to Lambs Conduit Street for a Ciao Bella pizza and you’ll soon perk up

BathshebaEverdene1 · 01/05/2024 17:14

Wardour Street.
Anywhere with crowds of confused looking tourists sucking at bubble tea really .

Finsbury Park

This is where the majority of the fatalities happened in 7/7 and the casualties were brought out through the station, so maybe you're picking up on something there, who knows.

No.

FanofLeaves · 02/05/2024 12:56

I hate Euston. The shape of it, just a big indoor rectangle of misery as everyone stares up at the screens then does a last minute pour to the platforms as they always announce them last minute.

The Elizabeth line platform at Farringdon still smells of earth 😅 I find that strangely fascinating, those fresh tunnels and the smell of dirt.

Supersimkin2 · 02/05/2024 12:58

Croydon’s terrifying.

Renamed · 02/05/2024 12:58

Holborn

TheShellBeach · 02/05/2024 12:59

Palmers Green is terribly depressing. I can't bear even driving through it.

FrothyCothy · 02/05/2024 13:03

Euston really is awful, utterly soulless, I agree with previous poster!

OhYoko · 02/05/2024 13:04

I always get a bad vibe down on the platforms at Mile End. I feel like the artificial light is extra artificial down there or something. I've felt this way since I was a kid, it's hard to explain, it's just "off" down there somehow.

ImWearingPantaloons · 02/05/2024 14:22

Oxford Street.

Just feels really hustler-y these days.

WibblyWobblyWeeble · 02/05/2024 14:24

No, I love it.
I'm a tourist when I go, but not a confused one, promise!

Revelatio · 02/05/2024 14:31

Outside Notting Hill Gate tube, I find the whole area pretty depressing and bleak. Isle of Dogs makes me feel uneasy, same as Poplar and Blackwall. Hackney Wick station and around Homerton, especially by the hospital. Archway.

On the contrary, I know a couple who got engaged on the Eastbound District line platform in the mid 60s. When I get down there I always think of that lovely occurrence.

@Bear2014 after getting back to the hotel I did have a google of Russel Square! I just felt such an odd feeling when on the platform which just wouldn't shift, I needed to research the place when I had the time. This was the first thing that came up. So upsetting :( I didn't know the location of where any of the attacks happened. It'll definitely be on my mind whenever I'm there.

This is the best description of Euston station ever

TheShellBeach · 02/05/2024 15:15

I love Euston Station!
It's always exciting to be travelling somewhere.

Horsewhisperers · 02/05/2024 16:35

Elephant & Castle. I always get lost there and the area has a bad feeling.

Yes to both of these.

Though I do also get anxious on the Waterloo concourse, but that's not me picking up on deep, psychic vibrations, it's just because it always reminds me of whichever Jason Bourne film it was where Paddy Considine plays the Guardian journalist, and because I keep half-consciously looking for the Eurostar.

East/west central Croydon is bleak. I’m south and it’s LESS bleak. The town centre is appalling some days. This was Barclays Bank, as I passed on my way to work last week. Bear in mind the police station is two minutes away, HOW was there this much opportunity to cause this amount of damage?! The local paper says it was an act of vandalism. Well, yes.

It's a railway station, I love the bustle

WinterMorn · 02/05/2024 17:18

Croydon/Thornton Heath are the absolute pits.
