Jes, have you read the "is this normal behaviour for a head?" thread in education? Boy did I get some info today!

jes74 · 17/03/2008 22:20

guessed that was going to be thecase never mind dr who can wait till another day - just looked at other thread looks like your coffee meeting went well, and have you been upsetting other peoples perseptions of private schools or was i misreading some of the responses???. The word bully comes to mind from that list.

jes74 · 17/03/2008 22:22

ouch such bad typos i bow my head in shame

avenanap · 17/03/2008 22:35

Ohh, that's why they were so defensive . The coffee morning was enlightening! He's loosing a few kids, he's pissed alot of parents off, the rest are kissing his behind (kids are getting into the sports teams and good parts in plays though!). Day at another place went well (I think, I've asked them not to get a reference from him as I have told them he's not long started and I don't think he knows ds enough to make such an important judgment. I also told them that he had firm views on th type of school ds should go to next and I did not agree with them, she was going to talk to the head of new school and maybee ask for a reference from ds's teacher instead). I like the word arsehole, I think it fits him well.

I can meet you in the museum in the city centre, the one with lifts and stairs if you want, there's 2 of them doing it.

jes74 · 17/03/2008 22:54

glad the day seemed to go well, and that you have had a chance to find out what else has been going on, shame he appears to be able to get away with such behaviour.
are you sure you want to subject yourself to my four? dh just told me if i go i have to bring him back a dalek!! one day he will grow up

avenanap · 17/03/2008 23:04

I think a social services tip off may be required . I can see that going down well!!!!!! Just kidding. I'll be pleased when he's not there any more. Other school have a debating team and can talk whilst eating lunch! . He told me he was told off though. I asked him what he had done, he said that he was told not to run. I think his school has a bad effect on him, it's a sad, sad world when kids think that this is getting into trouble. I definetly think he'll need counselling after leaving.

We'll split them between us, I'll take your boys, you have the little ones. Ds is fairly responsible (she says quivering). It'll be fine. Take them for lunch after. Then ice cream (yum!). There's a third museum with trains and boys stuff in it. It even has some knex and a brio train downstairs.

jes74 · 17/03/2008 23:32

but can he talk with his mouth full of food at lunch? said only because aiden decided tto ask a question at dinner and covered me in pizza.
Saturday would be good what time were you thinking of i can do anything from 11 onwards but ds still takes ages in the morning to feed. kieran and aiden would love it.

avenanap · 17/03/2008 23:39

That's fine. ds is lacking on the table manners side of things, despite my efforts . I'll check tomorrow what time it's on, I think there's one in the morning starting at 10:30 until 12 and one in the afternoon. I shall bring goggles, a hat and wipes for the food . 11 is ok but I'll check tomorrow.

jes74 · 17/03/2008 23:47

children are great, kieran has just submerged to get a drink andsays we can do 10.30 if needed as he will help get everyone ready not sure f he intends to bf brother for me or what.

avenanap · 17/03/2008 23:49

Ok. You could express it and give him the bottle . Do you know where the big museum is?

jes74 · 17/03/2008 23:56

if i go to the cafe where we went last and walk through the arcade and turn right would i be in th right location? near the big library-had a nose around last thursday waiting for kieran who was at a show in the assembly rooms.

avenanap · 18/03/2008 00:01

Yes, walk to the end of the road and it's on the other side. There's a set of magic doors (my brain is dying, I must appologise) with a mummy or some kind of statue in the doorway. I'll meet you outside at 10:30. I will double check tomorrow and let you know if things have gone pear shaped. The library is under the museum.

jes74 · 18/03/2008 00:07

thats great my brain arms and boobs are dying ds has been feeding since 10pm and still wont succumb to sleep hence dodgy typing looks like im going to bed with him still attatched.

avenanap · 18/03/2008 00:09

He's going to be one big baby! The more they suck the more you make you know!

AbbyLou · 29/03/2008 09:58

Hello everybody, I used to check this thread a while ago and it was always empty so it's nice to see people chatting now. I actually live in Long Eaton now but used to live in Derby and still class myself as a Derby mum. I used to live just off Ashbourne Road so Markeaton Park was our regular haunt. I have a ds who is 3 and a dd almost 11 months.

jes74 · 29/03/2008 13:51

Hello Abbylou we seem to be chatting more on the race for life thread at mo. Markeaton park is lovely and its thanks to this thread i finally took my dc there and they love it.

avenanap · 30/03/2008 23:20

Hello AbbyLou, I live off Ashbourne Road. Welcome to out thread .

Hi Jes, how's the holiday?

avenanap · 21/04/2008 19:36

Are you ok Jes?

jes74 · 22/04/2008 14:02

hello all, i'm fine took on an allotment so we have spent alot of time there plus as was hols time away visiting family, so not been near the computer much.
just looked at education have you been upsetting the teachers again. It would be nice to meet up again kieran has asked about joe coming to play.
so are there any derby ladies out there that know what i should do with my allotment other than dig it?

avenanap · 22/04/2008 18:05

Hi. That would be lovely. I'll have a look and see if I can find something for the little darlings to do. He likes digging . I think it's a kid thing. I have some new potatoes that have started to sprout if you want me to keep them for you.

jes74 · 22/04/2008 18:21

he can come and dig anytime he likes i have planted potatoes, onions and garlic so we shall see if they survive - i do not want to see another sprouting potato thanks as niav played hide and seek with half of mine and they are still turning up where they should not.

avenanap · 22/04/2008 19:16

What a helpful child! Strawberries are very easy to look after, just remember to put straw around them or they will be slug food. We can do a sunday or a staurday afternoon.

jes74 · 23/04/2008 21:52

The guys have put a strawberry plant in each but I think they may need more, the boys have scouts parade this sunday marching from the town centre to the cathedral then church service what fun apart from that we are aound most weekends.

zulubump · 25/04/2008 17:46

Hello Derby Mums!

I was very excited to find this thread! I've been going on Mumsnet since being preggers and have found it a great source of info & support. I live in Littleover and have one dd who is 7 months tomorrow. She is lovely and lots of fun at the moment. We have also just taken on an allotment - it's on the ring road near Littleover. Only planted spuds so far.

Best go and bath dd and hope she wants to sleep this evening!

Bye for now

jes74 · 25/04/2008 18:01

hi zulubump it's not exactly allotment weather is it!! my son no3 is just 5 months, i lovethem about this age as they do really develop so quickly. my allotment is highfield lane with thick clay soil so my spuds are learning to swim rather than growing.
must go and sort out dinner we are running late today.
