Oh no Sfx, funny how they manage to save their tantrums for when you're out and about in public. Hang in there, have some tea & choc, always makes me feel better

Think I will go for Kingston, had a look at map again and it is slightly closer. Good to hear that DC have been well looked after there

rosmerta · 07/12/2007 14:37

sfx, this is exactly the place you need to get it off your chest! I've got some friends coming round this afternoon and am dreading it slightly as I know we're going to have tantrums from ds about sharing!

And I second sj's suggestion of tea & chocs

SushiMummy · 07/12/2007 14:41

Oh sfx. Sorry you are having a trying day with DD. Hope you feel better and have a peaceful weekend.

SJ, sorry no advice re hospital (only have experience of C&W). Have a lovely time in Paris.

SJ99 · 07/12/2007 14:44

Might have to go for Middlesex now as they don't seem to have any appmt's left at Kingston, lucky I have a choice in the matter

Have fun with your friend's Ros, I hope DS enjoys himself too

Off to Paris for a romantic wkend woo-hoo, well as romantic as you can be with toddler in tow. DH's treat, it goes some way to making up for working in Bristol I suppose

sfxmum · 07/12/2007 14:55

dd just told me 'I love you very much you are my best friend' well that is ok then
it is ok really just a really bad week for me, makes it harder to deal with. thanks for support

took the precaution of putting a tub of chocolate mini rolls from M&S is basket, clever me.

actually West Mid A&E were ok when we took dd ages ago they did not even mock us, not to our face anyway. no experience of out patients.
the SCBU was awful very short staffed.

If my paperwork was sorted we would be heading for Bruges and do Christmas markets, so beautiful there, haven;t yet taken dd abroad, but looking forward to.

sfxmum · 07/12/2007 14:57

ros enjoy your friends, hope ds finds amusement some other way.

sfxmum · 07/12/2007 15:05

I sent dh an email recounting the days adventures in toddlerland and apparently it popped up during some techie demo he was doing for a group of people, to general amusementoh well could have been worst

SJ99 · 07/12/2007 18:16

SFX hope you didn't write anything too embarrassing in the mail!

Just back from Kingston, I couldn't put it off taking hat back any longer. Went into Montezuma (I'm holding SFX responsible for this!), swiped some tasters and left with some chilli/orange choc for journey tom, yum!

Paddlechick666 · 07/12/2007 19:59

evening all from Chez Paddle!

we are in, the beds are up and dd is sleeping now. the phone and broadband work - whoo hooo! the TV does not

was really looking forward to a quiet TV night tonight!

there is still some stuff back at the old house and it is in a completely untidy state. i hafta get back there tomorrow to tidy/clean up but in all honesty, i sooo cannot be arsed!

H has had some pretty full on ranting texts from me this week. Especially when DD was throwing up the night before last.

the removers turned up half hour late but they were fabulous and took a shedload more stuff for an extra £50.

my mum and step-dad have also been great this week. they're in their 70s but they'd done so much.

i think i will go to bed soon! doubt dd will go thru the whole night in her new bedroom tbh. she was up for an hour or so last night - think the wind woke her.....

roll on 2008 eh? i feel like i've made a start even if i am scared to use the microwave in case it wakes dd and i have no dishwasher

hope everyone well and enjoyed the kew sparkle thing.

sj, west midd were fabulous with dd when she was admitted overnight last nov. enjoy paris ma petite choux!

bahKewcHumbug · 07/12/2007 20:59

well sort of congrats Paddle - do you need a hand at all tomorrow at old place o just unpacking on Sunday?

Having said I would go to Kew sparkle - I did arunner because.... my mum has bought me membership of Cedars healthclub for christmas and says she will babysit on a Firday evening so I can go to my old aqua class once a week . So I went this evening - it was fantastic to do some exercise (albeit carefully with my doddery old body)

I LOVE MY MUM

rosmerta · 07/12/2007 21:00

Paddle, so glad you're in your new place! When's the housewarming?

I'm having a nice evening with dh watching the last few episodes of Heroes (1st series), can't imagine what's going to happen!

foxcubinapeartree · 07/12/2007 21:21

Congrats Paddle and minipads - you are in your new home!!!

Can't believe your DH BTW!!

Kewhumbug - Aqua-wotsits sounds fun - I love your Mum too

Did you se Ds2 today?

Hi everyone else
Did anyone make it to Kew Sparkle?

rosmerta · 07/12/2007 21:22

All these christmassy names, guess I'll have to come up with one!

Hi foxie

foxcubinapeartree · 07/12/2007 21:28

Had mega stressful evening here - spent 1 hour stuck in traffic taking DS1 to party in Kingston (Friday evening traffic madness).

Arrived at car park to discover I had no change to buy a Pay & Display ticket. Met nice Asian man who took my £10 note and went to get change for me while I sat and BF DS2 who was by that time howling.

Party was good though - a bowling party and DS1 had a fine old time (so did DD who gatecrashed)

Had a fabby swimming lesson (my third this week) - I actually swam all by myself today [proud emoticon] I lurve my swimming lessons and hate it when each one ends. Pool is warm and luxurious with a low glossy ceiling so you can watch yourself swim. I have invested my credit union savings into paying for a personal swimming trainer, who takes no prisoners

foxcubinapeartree · 07/12/2007 21:29

Hi Rose [waves]

rosmerta · 07/12/2007 21:30

glad you're enjoying the swimming foxie, its my favourite exercise & I can do it for hours (not that I often do!).

Hope you're relaxing now after your mad evening!

foxcubinapeartree · 07/12/2007 21:35

Rose I can't wait until I am competent as my ambition atm is to go swimming every day - if only I can find the time. I have joined a health club next to my workplace (corporate discount) and its really lovely there. I never want to get out of the pool. I love the teacher who is really strict and drives me relentlessly, which is brilliant. I feel like a child learning something new and exhilarating

foxcubinapeartree · 07/12/2007 21:37

Rose do you go to the Fountain place in Brentford. I was in there last week, nosing around

rosmerta · 07/12/2007 21:39

I do go there if I'm swimming but I usually take ds to Richmond

foxcubinapeartree · 07/12/2007 21:53

How long has DS been learning? I can just imagine him swimming

rosmerta · 07/12/2007 21:54

I've been taking him since he was about 3 months old, he loves it! He usually manages to scare me silly by jumping in off the side or the steps

quokka · 08/12/2007 04:50

I found you guys - have been searching and searching!

Well done on the move PC, I'm sure dd will take a couple of days to settle in. You can buy really cheap dishwashers on ebay - it might be worth it to keep your sanity!

Rosmerta and foxy we go swimming every day (sometimes twice)! Ds1 is now jumping in off a high ledge with just a ring around him. He can kick his legs once resurfaced and swim where ever he wants, he thinks its fab. Ds2 isn't as brave but he still likes jumping of the edge into my arms, but not really going under the water.

I have done my baby massage course and even started holding classes! I ended up calling the business Baby Bliss. I can't tell you how much I love it, I have had a 2 week old baby and his mum start classes on Mon. My other class has 2 older babies 4 and 5 months, which is a challenge as they are both movers! Once I have finished my prac hours (25hrs) and assignments I can start charging, much to dh delight.

Now I have a favour to ask you all. I have a friend who lives in the US and shes moving to London with her little ds and dh. I'm going to point her in the direction of this thread. Shes not sure where she wants to live yet and wants to meet some mums (shes a sahm). She is LOTS of fun, so I'm sure she will fit in nicely.

Take care guys and Merry Christmas! xx

Paddlechick666 · 08/12/2007 09:36

morning all, we had a pretty good night. dd was awake about 4am coughing so a dose of medised adn a bit of messsing about tehn she was back off till 7:30a!

virgin engineer came at 8am and showed me how to put the TV back onto HDMI signal to fix the problem. me-thinks mini-paddle had a hand in causing the problem!

kew, your aqua class sounds great. am really pleased that you're going to get to do that on fridays now. it'll lift your mood for sure.

am off to get my aussie mate (foxie's ex-lodger) shortly and we'll do some "mopping" up at the old place. he's coming back with another friend to lift the bookshelves up for me this arvo. should then be able to unpack some of these books and cds!

anyone want a Thomson wi-fi router? it's DSL so won't work with a cable provider. very easy to use, very good signal. had no probs with it all. just a bummer it doesn't work with cable.

Quokka, Baby Bliss sounds fab. Glad things are going well for you.

Now I have a bus right outside the door which goes to Kingston. I guess I can check out this Montezuma place

will be around this arvo foxie if you want to pick up that walker/ride-on for ds2. gimme a ring first tho....

now I need some advice. Nanou loaned me a bunch of her dd's clothes but we agreed i would return them. i tried several times before she left (i'm assuming they've gone now?!?) but never managed to sort it out.

i really don't want to get rid of them but i am very short on space now.

what to do? was wondering if anyone else out there would like to take them till she gets back but no one else has a girl aged 1-3yrs (yet) do they?

ho-hum.......
