erm, not sure if this will work but have started a thread in the interests of currying favour with MNHQ!

I'd love to go to Glasto minus DS but it's so hard to get tickets these days, is that why it's become so popular? Last time I went was about 5yrs ago I think

I can hear his lordship's dulcet tones, gotta go...

sfxmum · 06/12/2007 16:00

we went on the Thursday to set up tent then stayed Friday and Saturday but left on Sunday, only because dh needed to be at work early on monday, dd was fine and loved every minute of it. we did not do everything and I planned badly one day and ended up missing most of the set of someone I wanted to see.
but the atmosphere was great we spent the morning in the kids field

here
last years line up.

It was small and I kept bumping into performers with their mates or families

rosmerta · 06/12/2007 16:38

I'd love the idea of going to a festival with ds but think my camping days are long behind me - if they were ever with me

Steppie - if you don't ask... but then otoh, my mum always used to say 'I want never gets'!

Oh dear, think I'm having a mad moment. Best leave

sfxmum · 06/12/2007 17:06

Ros as the youngest you should really do the decent thing and make us green with envy at the wild times you are having

SJ99 · 06/12/2007 17:54

DH & I cannot wait to take DS camping, Dh keeps joking that we'll have to upgrade to a family size tent now though LOL

"Here's the link" for the one my bro wants to go to, it would be good to go in group, more fun & a few childminders to hand!

Latitude looks good too

sfxmum · 06/12/2007 18:06

kids were free last year which was a factor for us.we had to upgrade to family tent as we had a tiny 2person, it is amazing the kind of stuff and more stuff kids need

getting all excited again, love festival vibe

sfxmum · 06/12/2007 18:07

went free that is

SJ99 · 06/12/2007 19:07

I know tell me about it [also getting excited emoticon], I love festivals too and haven't been to one for ages. We have 2 person tent too but it might do for now as DS is so small

Going to cook now and then watch Heroes from last night

Paddlechick666 · 06/12/2007 19:12

i'm deffo taking dd to latitude next year.

h asked me earlier this week if we would go to glasto with him.

evidently he's bought a camper van

i said no thanks, but i'll borrow it for latitude

will this move never end?

the flat is slowly taking shape. carpets and laminate are down. curtains in bedrooms are up. fridge/freezer is damaged but without any more in stock i have got a £35 refund. which is fine, it's only cosmetic and i am sure my budding artist will provide something beautiful with which to cover the marks.

removal firm are due tomorrow but given how much has gone wrong already this week i am fretting they won't show up.

no more vomiting but dd is coughing away up there now......

shedloads still to pack!

paddle I have registered to buy tickets this month for next year at this years price £112 weekend pass kids under 12 go free.

even if we don't go I can sell them on as last year it was sold out long before the date

rosmerta · 06/12/2007 20:02

Well sfx when you put it like that... Maybe I'll try to persuade dh to go to one but I doubt it!

Paddle, don't worry, I'm sure the removal men will turn up, just ring up first thing in the morning and harrass them!

Paddlechick666 · 06/12/2007 20:26

oooh where do you register? i am sooo definately buying tickets, same thing in that if i don't go i can sell them on.

yeah ros, will ring first thing believe me!

oh steppie [claps hand onforehead and rolls eyes emoticon], you hire an accountant to lie to deal with the Inland Revenue.

I never did camping. Never really did festivals either (think the two may be linked) - and the fact that in my youth in deepest south wales there was no such things as "festivals".

Paddle your H is a piece of work isn't he.

sfxmum · 06/12/2007 21:03

steppie like KC said, dh went the way of hiring an accountant, because he would otherwise, just miss all deadlines

which reminds me I forgot to pass on info to lemonaid, sorry must ask him

paddle follow my link bellow and there is a box near bottom of page. this year we might hire a little teepee which comes ready, dh swore too much last year carrying the tent.

bunyan are you feeling any better?

wave to slng who popped around earlier

Paddlechick666 · 06/12/2007 21:24

i am liking the idea of a beach hut!

have registered now.

kew, yeah i have to say i was somewhat gobsmacked by this news too. he seems to think it will be a winter "project"....

meanwhile back on planet earth, if he does pull it off then a campervan for a festival would be great

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 06/12/2007 21:58

kew, yes i know..what was i thinking?
have been freelance before (so should be more sussed) and had a fab accountant who struck just the right balance between being 'creative' without being dodgy...
not sure whether to use her again or a chap a friend wants me to use...
ho-hum...

SJ...sex pistols at that festival - only my fave group of all time..
and the little fellas love kaiser chiefs
dh back from poland tomorrow, thank god.

who's going to kew sparkle? would love to but not sure if i'll be able to fit it in around everything tomorrow and got some friends staying.

but, can't wait, as leaving all the kids with dh and his mum and gong out with the girls for a goss and curry..life is good...
toodlepip

festivevillas · 07/12/2007 08:36

Hello everybody - how are you all? PC, how's it going with the flat and how is mini PC? Still flu-ridden here plus backache has kicked in so all great But just getting on with it now! Starting to feel stressed re: impending house move week after next! Packed several boxes last night - the realisation of how much we have to do has set in! Planning to spend the weekend packing and cleaning - that sounds like fun doesn't it! Will escape to Kew with dd tomorrow so that dh can get on with some stuff here. Ohhhh ... wonder what the weather forecast is like for the weekend . Off to Sainsburys now - woo haaaaa!!

sfxmum · 07/12/2007 09:32

good morning all

festive - that sounds awful poor you, babysitting and feet up is what you need, the idea of moving seems iring hope your dh has it all sorted

paddle hope movers are doing their business with no hassle.how is dd?

about Sparkle not sure yet, feel a bit rough today, will see how the day goes

hope all ok today

SushiMummy · 07/12/2007 10:54

Hi all!

As for Kew Sparkle, I think we'll be there 7-ish.

Did everyone sleep ok last night? Sooo windy, wasn't it?

SJ99 · 07/12/2007 12:34

Bonjour (getting ready for French trip)

Festive - Hope you feel better, take care of yourself

SFX - hiring a teepee sounds wild, much more exotic than going in tent or campervan

Dragged ourselves to swimming today which was great fun, will sign up for next lot of lessons.

Not sure I will make it to Kew, I feel slightly naseus, have done since last night, couldn't sleep til 1am and no Sushi, the wind didn't help. Will see how the day goes on. Need to pack soon, gone are the days of travelling light

rosmerta · 07/12/2007 13:27

Sj, are you away for the weekend? Sounds lovely, hope you're feeling better for it.

Hope everyone else is feeling better too. Will probably have to miss Kew tonight as my parents are coming down tomorrow so need to clean the house!

SJ99 · 07/12/2007 13:28

Just got DS referral through and I have to choose to take him to either Kingston or W. Middlesex hospital. I'm equidistant to both, which to choose? Does one have a better reputation for dealing with kids than the other? Help!

Kewcumber · 07/12/2007 13:30

Have only had experience of Kingston and then not much - they took blood (quite a lot) from DS at the paediatric unit and they were fab. They had a play therapist to distract him while they did it.

rosmerta · 07/12/2007 13:43

I've only been to West Mid A&E and they've always been very good with ds!

sfxmum · 07/12/2007 13:57

SJ enjoy Paris. dd had to go to Kingston when she was 12m and they were great. even when I went last week dh kept her entertained at the kids out patient unit and they were nice about it

just went out with dd and had one long tantrum from the minute we stepped out until we got back home, I tell you she is smelling weakness on my part, felt like sitting on the floor crying, cause that would have helped
I am usually got and cool about all this but not this week, not at all, just wanted this out of my chest today, sorry
