erm, not sure if this will work but have started a thread in the interests of currying favour with MNHQ!

hi all, just catching up on Ugly Betty, am hoping to get to the Posh episode soon!

'love muscle' [snort]

Will try to get down to Kew for the xmas thing sounds great. Syon Park are also doing their Winter Wonderland thing which was really lovely last year.

Had a tutorial today and as it was our last one before xmas we all had to teach something not antenatal related. So I did tap dancing, but we also cooked a french meal, learnt how to wear a sari and decorated fairy cakes! And its left me really motivated so I've done loads of work on my essay now!

Anyway, will sign off for now and try & get some more done!

Paddlechick666 · 26/11/2007 19:39

i just put the microwave on for 5 minutes and forgot to put my dinner in it

dd has announced to my CM that "mummy paintin my new b'room pink"

she is most definately sadly mistaken!!!!

move things are going okay so far. ordered my new fridge/freezer and washing machine today.

oh and i signed all the contracts today too! tenants will be gone by Wednesday so exchange will happen then.

am getting excited now!

steppie, you crack me up

ps: what's a love muscle?

Another quick one, does anyone fancy a mini-meet up to go see Golden Compass at the cinema? I really want to see it but know its not really dh's type of film, so thought I'd beg you lot to come with me!

sfxmum · 26/11/2007 19:49

LOL paddle I fear dd also said her bedroom will be pink NOT

Ros I would but dh is looking forward to seeing it too so might be our next date, can't wait (in fear)

off to get dd to bed she seems full of beans, we found her sitting on our bed pretending to read her book, very funny reciting from memory but tracing with finger

Paddlechick666 · 26/11/2007 19:50

I'll be in that Ros. My sister bought me a cinema voucher for my Xmas present before she went home with the express instruction to use it for The Golden Compass.

I'm not one for doing the movies on my own tho.

Last thing I saw at the cinema was Sin City and I was quite pregnant!

Kewcumber · 26/11/2007 20:06

Steppie can I book you for our Xmas cabaret now?

Lets try to agree a KewGardens Xmas evening date with DC's, I'm not planning on subjecting DS to father Xmas as I don;t know a child that hasn't been traumatised by him!

Paddle - so exciting that it looks like your move is coming together. I think I'm going to order a laminate from that carpet place which is slightly cheaper and whole kitchen fitted will be just under £500.

Not sure golden compass is really my thing but frankly I'd go and see anything just to get to the cinema. However I really don;t have any remaining get out of Jail free passes with Ma before Xmas - could we do it as Jan meet-up or is that too late?

sfxmum · 26/11/2007 20:43

anyone taking kids to panto this year? was thinking we might take dd to Richmond theatre

we will go on the 7th I think, dh will probably meet us there

all for meet up are we abandoning the December one?

rosmerta · 26/11/2007 20:45

I was thinking about it sfx but will probably go to Watermans if we do go and to matinee!

SJ99 · 26/11/2007 22:04

Ros - Would like to see Golden Compass, I love the cinema and it is such a rare treat these days. BTW your tutorial sounded fab, didn't know you could tap dance!

SFX - which panto will you see? I don't think DS would sit still for the duration but I hope that you enjoy it. Don't plan on taking DS to see Santa either, he's starting to get scared of the man with trumpet at playgroup, zikes

Paddle - great that move is going well, exciting stuff. Stay away from the pink! My parents used to always try and put me in pink which I hated, consequently my teenage yrs til I was about 28 my wardrobe was predominantly black, no pink in sight (that flourescent pink swimsuit doesn't count)

Kewcumber · 26/11/2007 22:08

DS's attention span will just about stretch to my consumption of a cup of coffee - can't see a pantomime being a pleasurable experience for a year or so!

bunyanvillas · 27/11/2007 07:30

Took dd to the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon recently and it was a big hit (dd will be 3 in Jan) - but show was an hour long and any longer would definitely have been a problem! Think we too will give panto a miss for a year or too (although I am dying to go - have never been!)

Paddlechick666 · 27/11/2007 08:48

grrr i am sooo looking forward to owning my own home again and not being dicked around by demanding landlords.

agent rang yesterday wanting to photograph house. i am in the office all week this week so suggested i take him some keys and he do the pics on monday after my cleaner had finished.

this way, some of the moving detritus would be out of the way and the house would look it's best.

woke up to a snotty email from landlord implying i am being obstructive in not making myself available. calling the 24 hour reasonable notice thingy from the contract.

honestly, he's known the liklihood of the contract not being renewed was pretty high and he already pressured me into extending longer than i wanted to. all due to his extended holiday and not wanting to organise re-letting whilst away. which i can appreciate but that's life and i have always tried to be as reasonable and flexible as possible.

it's not like he even organised backup cover for his absence if something happens. so, if the roof fell in i'd have to email him and wait for him to get back to me FFS.

anyway, i have sent a snotty email back saying i resent the implication.

Paddlechick666 · 27/11/2007 08:50

oh and i've already put myself out at the drop of a hat so that several agents can come and value the place so.

jeez, i've got enough to blardy think about!

sfxmum · 27/11/2007 09:07

good morning all

Ros yes tell the story of your tap dancing skills

Paddle rarely are landlords reasonable, not that it is any consolation, hope it get's sorted without much hassle

hi Bunyan how is work? leaving do planned?

about the panto we were talking about it last night, as dh was the one who wanted to take dd, but Richmond T is £25 pp and kids half too dear I think, will check out Watermans otherwise we will stick to Kew's offerings and then next year do something special I think she will need more fussing over then.

woke up with my eye hurting but no idea what it is just feels very unconformable

hope you are all ok today

sfxmum · 27/11/2007 09:07

gets

Paddlechick666 · 27/11/2007 09:22

sfx, yes i guess you're right but having been a landlord for the last 3 years i haven't found it all onerous to be accomodating and reasonable to my tenants.

who actually have both phoned this week to thank me for being such a great landlord and to say how sad they were to be leaving but to wish me all the best for the future.

lovely girls.

this guy is all fabulous as long as things get done his way and immediately. he's as immovable as rock when it doesn't tho.

what doesn't help is dd has woken up in some sort of a foul mood and is so demanding and intolerant! hope she's not sickening for something again......

OP posts:
sfxmum · 27/11/2007 09:28

paddle my last landlord was lovely polite accommodating man as was his dad who took care of stuff when he was away. we also had one who run off with our deposit and nearly a full month rent while the bailiffs were knocking on our door because apparently the flat was being repossessed. all this a week before Christmas

hope your is not poorly and just has the grumps. must find the energy to take dd out somewhere

Paddlechick666 · 27/11/2007 09:37

oh god! what an utterly awful situation to have been in.

we're off to swimming this morning. we've missed 2 lessons thru illness and will miss the last one next week due to moving.

monumental waste of £30 given she'll only have had 2 out of the 5 sessions.

maybe dd is grumpy because i am

OP posts:
sfxmum · 27/11/2007 09:40

enjoy swimming I think puddles beckon for us

will book swimming for January as well as tumble tots I think, dd needs it and so do I.

have a nice time

Kewcumber · 27/11/2007 11:05

paddle I'm not signing up DS for swimming next term because I can;t take more time off but I have decided to take him once a week until I think he's ready for proper swimming lessons - if you like we could fix a standard weekly time say early Sat or Sun morning and have an MN swimming session (anyone else welcome too of course)

SushiMummy · 27/11/2007 11:16

Morning all. Hope you are all well.

MN swimming sessions! Brilliant idea, QC! I'm deffo going if it's Sat/Sun.

So what's happening on 7 Dec? Is it Kew station parade or Kew Gardens? [puzzled emotion]

Paddlechick666 · 27/11/2007 11:28

kew, brilliant idea for a MN early morning w/end swim. i will miss my tuesdays off with dd

it was a good lesson today but the pool was freezing!

sfx, hope you're having splashing fun today

OP posts:
sfxmum · 27/11/2007 11:44

Kewcumber · 27/11/2007 12:48

stepfordwife · 27/11/2007 12:52
