I took Bumble out for a walk in the field and couldn't see the road because of the fog, suddenly I realised I was nearly walking into the ditch! It is gradually lifting now thankfully!!

Dawndonnaagain · 14/03/2014 10:45

Clearing here and the sun is trying to come out.

Isn't it odd to think of all the mners living near you?!

Mitchy1nge · 14/03/2014 10:52

I'll be in a very orange jacket. Looking amazing. With my almost-healed calf strain giving me an interesting gait. Grin

One word for all you gushing Suffolk-lovers.

Haverhill

Ha.

dottygamekeeper · 14/03/2014 11:11

Lottie, I love the Pump Street Bakery van - I think its called Cedric, its the old fashioned Citroen that appears in Ipswich market sometimes, and I have also seen it at Snape when the Tour of Britain came through

(Studiously ignores Bird and the H word...)

floatyflo · 14/03/2014 11:43

Are from Haverhill bird

I know it's reputation very well, but still feel quite defensive of it.

Butkin · 14/03/2014 12:08

Stares hard at Bird and considers "H" to be Essex/Cambridge borders...

Butkin · 14/03/2014 12:09

Oops - apologies to Floatyflo, in fairness I like a lot of the areas around Haverhill and particularly like Horseheath Point to Point!

BirdintheWings · 14/03/2014 13:18

OK then, Floaty, I'll narrow it further to Haverhill Tesco. And possibly the bit round the old Co-op.

Mitchy1nge · 14/03/2014 14:23

I've never been to Haverhill actually, I don't even know where it is but my mental picture of it is that it's probably a bit like Sudbury and Stowmarket?

mitchy - THANK YOU - finally someone else who looks up in ipswich town centre and sees how amazing some of the buildings are!

the Cake Shop in the Thoroughfare in woodbridge does amazing bread. highly recommended.

my favourite beach is at East Lane near Bawdsey but don't tell anyne - there's hardly ever anyone there unless it's boiling, but even then the beach is miles long so never crowded.

Doobydoo · 14/03/2014 16:28

Its0kToBeMe · 14/03/2014 19:09

I'm in Bramfield just outside Halesworth. Not met anyone in suffolk that I didn't like!

ElvisJesusAndCocaCola · 14/03/2014 19:11

I live in norfolk and work in suffolk (just).

Best of both.

My parents are coming to visit next week and have requested a tour of Ipswich. I've probably described the beautiful buildings to them previously but have never taken them there. My father was born in Bury St Edmunds but moved to Kent when he was a toddler so they've tended to go out that way when visiting. So Ipswich - the tourist destination of choice!

It's time to ramp up my 'get everyone to move to Suffolk' Campaign. My father has this odd idea that Suffolk is colder than Kent/Sussex because we're on the east coast but I'm hoping the stunning March weather will hold out.

Sorry Oscar the DDs and I had ice creams on the way home from school today Smile

RuddyDuck · 14/03/2014 19:37

This thread is making me feel so homesick for Suffolk. I went to school in Ipswich, my parents live just outsude, and whenever we drive there I get to Lavenham area and the countryside starts looking like home again.

I love looking up at the shop buildings in Ipswich ( esp the Ancient House). I also really love the Suffolk coast, Aldeburgh and Walberswick in particular. I have to go back every few weeks to get my fix! Am working on Dh to agree to move there in retirement.
