New to the area

I am new to Winchester and looking to make some friends.

DC 3.9 and I have been to several groups/activities in the area since moving but haven't yet found any friends (or people who want to talk to us :( )

Would be lovely to meet some others in the Winchester area.

Hi everyone! Me and DS1 will be at the River park park, might be a tad late but I will try to remember to wear my ebay scarf! I also have a bright pink Boden mac so you really can't miss me

We will go for a bright orange colour so if you see a nanny in orange chasing or shouting at a small boy in orange - that's us

So tomorrow at 2pm ladies, but where's the River Park soft play? I'm not that familiar with the area yet. I'll be wearing a blue patterned mac if it's raining. Otherwise, probably a stripy maxidress and looking out for people in bright pink & orange!

Hopefully we'll all manage to be in the same place at a similar time :)

I thought we were meeting in the outside park? It's sort of round the back of the sports centre; as you drive into the car park, it's the very first turning on the right, but you can't drive down there - just park and walk round.

Or if walking from town, head down Middle Brook Street, cross over North Walls, past the uni and you'll see the river; park is on the left.

I will see you all there tomorrow afternoon - I'll have a large green Orla Kiely bag (oh and a three year old boy who will no doubt be trying to run in the opposite direction to wherever I am trying to go!).

Missing, Curwy, Amber - so lovely to meet you! Mog - we missed you . Are you ok?

We are going to try another meet up so there is another chance to join in the fun! Mon 10th, same time, same place.

And we need a secret sign to check for Mumsnetters, so here are some suggestions;

repeatedly scanning the sky for birds of prey
demonstrating ballet moves
waving a tissue around to emphasise a point
standing on one leg
all of the above

Ha ha, Mistress Ploppy, we definitely need a secret sign! I'll give the sky scanning a go on Monday to see if anyone approaches me. If they look like psychiatric nurses, I'll pirouette out of the playground on one leg while waving a tissue :)

Hi all - it was lovely meeting everyone today. My little boy was exhausted by the time we got home - all that leaf throwing in the park completely tired him out!

We are definitely up for meeting next Monday afternoon and hope those who weren't there today make it next week.

Yeah, mine was knackered too, Curwy. And had a nappy-full of leaves (not digested, thankfully )

Hello! CS kindly PMd me and I was (am) hoping to come along today. Unfortunately DS is asleep right now and I don't want to wake him (he was I'll recently and still seems unusually tired). Don't know how long you're all planning to stay at River Park but I only live 5 mins away so will pop along as soon as I can on the off-chance.
