ooh the excitement of starting a new thread

copper should be nice, is it over Christmas or will you incur the wrath of the school authorities

island dd was pretty tired too, told me she could not possibly sleep due to excitement but was out in about 5mins

posted a pic from her diary on FB, I could not resist it, she had asked me to write the date of the last day of term and of the Christmas fair

have to really study tomorrow first essay due soon, I expect some ironing to be done but also my first day of new training programme (yeah)

Over Christmas + 1 week of school. Haven't told them yet. But they know we've been for travel vaccinations. A letter, you think? Or just "oh by the way" the day before?

sfx - did see the diary. Very funny. Good to have priorities right. And it's all about planning.

someone in dd's class went away at half term and knew they would miss the first day, so they wrote to ask for the day, it was denied, they were called yesterday morning, while at the beach, if the child would be coming in
they are hardcore on attendance this year

sfx - we've already written a similar letter. Will probably just recycle it. Get DH to write it... So far they seem to be quite OK with days off for good reason (including chinese new year celebrations). Hopefully they will be reasonable. But I don't really care...

Productive day all main points covered thus does not include much housework

sfx - proud of skiving? Never understood this reluctance to miss school for a good cause. Seems to imply that school is the only place education happens.

Taking a break from marking student scripts. If I finish it I can have coffee with friend tomorrow morning. Incentive. May even go out tomorrow night for spicy food (and hopefully a trip to John Lewis to exchange filofax refill - apparently "personal" size is not "mini" size.)

Still reeling from the idea that some people would put a lot of effort into trying to solve a problem without actually knowing what the problem is ... Should be used to it by now - have been lecturing for enough years.

I want a party. Will you lot come if I have a party?

Has anyone seen the scarf-tying vid? So funny. I myself favour "The European Loop".

wondering what sky did with my favourite show, most unfair to pill it away and not inform me

I mainly use DH's scarves. Long enough and very warm and he doesn't use them.

I mean Fringe love it but last I saw was about 3wks ago, thought it was to synch with US season but they seem to be showing it on Sky HD, very cross

I think they're still showing it on regular Sky, just at strange hours, I'll ask dh as he watches that. It is annoying though, I missed out on Caprica because they messed it around so much.

Alphas is on one of the Channel 5's, think it might be 5*, might still be able to get it on the catchup. Its ok so far, not amazing, but we'll see what happens.
