sfx - it's the same people for party. Obviously the in thing.

islandhaze · 29/10/2011 22:49

That looks very interesting, absolutely dds thing :)
Thank you!

islandhaze · 29/10/2011 22:50

Sfx, do you think its ok, if we join you on Monday? Just because she is really looking forward to it...

sfxmum · 29/10/2011 22:57

yes island do just drop by after school, our pick up is 3.15 so any time after is fine

sfxmum · 30/10/2011 08:35

so have you all put your clocks back yet?

fireworks woke me up at 2.30am, dd at 6.30 [yawn]

UptoapointLordCopper · 30/10/2011 10:08

Good morning!

I woke up at 6 - somewhere in the house a book or something fell off a bed or something. Angry No more books on bed.

Roast dinner today. But must have expedition to buy more milk first, or no yorkshire pudding.

sfxmum · 30/10/2011 14:58

great science party Smile

Kora · 30/10/2011 20:24

Just had a vodka orange because no Wine or beer in house. It's gone straight to my head and reminds me of being rather younger. Feel all nostalgic (or is it tipsy...).

Science parties sound great. DH is always trying to do little science demos at home, but still refuses to bring dry ice home from lab. I don't know, health and safety gone mad... Grin

Pumpkin is duly carved. I think I'll keep DD1 home though tomorrow as she's still a bit small for the general shenanigans.

Wierd week coming up as I'm off on Wednesday to Lisbon for a work conference, coming back Friday evening. Lucky to have been there on a family holiday, so won't be too annoying being stuck in conference hall, but still quite annoying as would love to see a bit more of town. But I might get a lie-in til about 9am on one day, looking at timetable! Here's hoping... DH will be doing parental duties by himself, can't help but smile a bit... Oh, but then I recall he's off for a week in December, when it'll be my turn. Swings and roundabouts!

sfxmum · 31/10/2011 09:54

now it is too quiet....[hhmm]

quick stop for breakfast then tackle to do list, top priority, find time for a little run

kora hope you manage to have time to see the views when on work thing
we did not get a pumpkin I am sure dd will be very cross with me about it, maybe I can sort out some decorations

islandhaze · 31/10/2011 10:58

Morning!
Having a cup of coffee in peace...
Trying to sort out furniture change with the landlord. I hope he will do it soon...

Sfx, our pick up is also 15:15, i assume we will be at your place at 16:00. I will give you a call when we will be nearby :) DD is very exited as she never had trick&treating before :)

sfxmum · 31/10/2011 13:16

island yes that works, will feed them something green and with vitamins before sending them out Smile

UptoapointLordCopper · 31/10/2011 18:07

Am I the only one who is stressed about the possibility of people knocking on my door this evening? Oh God. I have so much work to finish before tomorrow morning. >

sfxmum · 31/10/2011 19:53

copper one of the perks of living in a flat, rarely do people come trick or treating, dd however went out and had a great time

vbus · 31/10/2011 20:56

hello all

Hope everyone well

Kora - good luck for trip, hope you see some sights

Back from various parties, DS1 had great time at his Halloween do dressed as a wizard and Ds2 had a treat a friend's birthday party. We had a few trick or treater's I just left a bowl of sweets outside along with pumpkin so that meant they avoided disturbing us and ringing our bell [hgrin]

DH got tonsilitis and has been in bed since Saturday, not much fun having to look after 3kids

Can't believe back to school tomorrow, not sure I'm ready for back to school routine

Good morning!

Less stressed now.

Me and DC went for travel vaccinations. Then ate fudge - leftover from last night. Neighbours' kids came treat-or-tricking, and a couple of teenage girls. Kids wanted to go too but settled for being able to eat whatever was leftover.

Nice sunshine here.

sfxmum · 01/11/2011 14:01

hello
lovely to see some brightness, went for short run, dh called saying some of the team are being let go by December best keep positive

copper are off soon?

contemplating doing the Kingston 10K n Dec 4thHmm

vbus · 01/11/2011 14:26

Sfx- go for it, nothing like having a goal to focus on. I went to gym today after not going last week but was v. lethargic, feel better for going though. Good luck for DH job, must be worrying for you both

Copper - was wondering the same thing, where are you off to?

Been trying to sort out more stuff for build, had totally underestimated how much time and energy this would consume Hmm Dh said he's going back to work tomorrow, phew, one less person from under my feet Grin

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 01/11/2011 14:46

Going to Malaysia - third world country, apparently, don't drink unboiled water, don't play with animals, don't do this, don't do that etc etc. (according to nurse, who is herself from there. Hmm Grin)

sfx - good luck for dh's job. And for run.

Do I put my feet up for 20 minutes or start another job?

sfxmum · 01/11/2011 16:22

don't eat on street Wink

mine is bankrupt country, who are due for a rude awakening
do you know they have 14 salaries a year? the so called 13th month at Christmas, a salary without enhancements, same deal in the Summer, called a holiday subsidy, the salaries are generally low and this keeps the populace happy, until now, it is all gone, harsh times ahead

not sure yet about the run would rather go for a 5K might register for ParkRun instead

sfxmum · 01/11/2011 16:24

vbus meant to add, glad patient is feeling better, tonsillitis is actually quite nasty
hope first day back went well

dd seems quite different now, her confidence was boosted, and she is also happy to have an extra friend outside school in island's dd

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/11/2011 16:46

Yes, forgot about the don't-eat-from-street-vendor one. Also don't eat ice cream from road-side store. When we were little we bought and ate icecream from man-on-bike with a tin at the back of the bike containing ice cream. Hmm Thinking back he must have had some sort of ice or cooling thing, or sold his ice cream REALLY fast.

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/11/2011 16:47

Ice cream sandwiched in toasts/cream crackers. Yum!

islandhaze · 01/11/2011 18:50

Good evening ladies!

Feel so proud of myself :o managed to take a good nap and still do all the planned things :o

Copper, sounds like a nice vacation trip you are going to have. How long are you going to stay there?

Vbus, good luck with studies! im so getting myself ready to do so one day too (hope next year). But honestly, i think then its a real mummy art to have time to do everything and still stay happy :) or you hire a housekeeper, a cook, a babysitter ?

Sfx, likewise here! DD is so happy and much more relaxed. She talked about inviting your DD to the playground near her school today. When i picked her up she asked if it could be a Halloween today again, so she could go with your DD :) i told her she has to wait until the weekend. Btw,DH is going to stay home with DD2 , so i can go together to the Bonfire night on Sat. I am very happy:)
And last night DD1 was so extremely excited and tired, that she felt asleep in that 5 minute long ride home :)

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/11/2011 19:42

Hello!

Island - 3 weeks. We'll probably all be driven up the wall by then. Grin As for "doing everything", It's all about prioritising. Round here there are important things (like food and play) and unimportant things (like tidiness of house and whiteness of shirts). We do the important things, and unimportant things are either done sloppily or outsourced. It is about recognising that grey is the new white. Grin

Kids are now fans of Paul Simon. The magic of You can Call me Al. Sure beats Justin Bieber and his ilk. Smile

islandhaze · 01/11/2011 20:00

We went for a short vacation before we had kids, and then we always go for 3 weeks or more (because its visiting relatives all over the country etc) We ALWAYS swear to ourselves that we will never do that again. that we will only go for two weeks maximum. but i guess we never learn from our mistakes Hmm
we now starting to think about going to Brasil next year, and just thinking that 2 weeks looks just too short...:o
