hello it was very cold, chilly and misty out earlier stayed in eating banana blueberry pancakes

dh at work all weekend, have barely seen in all week, but he is in a worst state than I am

dd wants to go exploring Hmm this means wandering about outside, so not good at it, must oblige

tillyfernackerpants · 16/10/2011 18:50

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, I spent mine in Brighton with friends & no children [hgrin], it was so nice to get up this morning & not have to do anything. Am now esconced on sofa & have no plans to move anytime soon [hgrin]

FlubbaBubba · 16/10/2011 19:07

Am Pooped! DD2's birthday weekend :) - a tea party with family (cousins, grandparents etc) yesterday, thankfully hosted by my parents yesterday in Kew, then her party with friends today. 15 kids and three babies Shock in our little house, but one very happy three year old, AND the jelly castle (still no oven) worked well as a 'cake' (and the candles even stayed in!!) :o All would have been better if she hadn't been pinned to a broken flowerpot by a heavy fallen birdtable yesterday (bumps to front and back of head ! :(), and had The Boy not fallen out of our house onto his head today ! >>very bad mummy emoticon

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/10/2011 19:09

Hello!

Had lazyish weekend, but baked malt loaf. Jane Asher recipe. Not terribly impressed. Am going to try good old Dan Lepard recipe next time.

But impressed with Bakery Bits - ordered malt on Thursday night, arrived Saturday morning.

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/10/2011 19:10

Flubba - Impressed with jelly castle. Grin Hope all injured parties have recovered.

Kewcumber · 16/10/2011 19:15

hey tilly we were also in Brighton on Saturday watching my neice play in a roller derby game. Good fun, would recommend - DS loved all the bashing and pushing and racing!

4 house viewings on Saturday and another two on Monday - is that good for a first weekend? Or OK? Or bad? I sppose it doesn't really matter as long as one person wants to buy it!

tillyfernackerpants · 16/10/2011 19:21

Kew, how funny, whereabouts? We were around The Lanes, the pier & lots of bars!! I would say that's good for a first weekend, fingers crossed

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/10/2011 19:32

Kew - from a position of complete ignorance I'd say that's a good number of viewings.

vbus · 16/10/2011 19:45

Hello

hope everyone having a good wkend Smile

Kew - good luck with viewings, fingers crossed for you

Flubba - sounds like lots of fun all round despite bumps and bruises

Went to leaving do in town last night which was great but we were slightly [hshock] when we found ourselves sat on train home next to 2 weirdos discussing 9/11 conspiracy theories, one of them was just returning from a conference about it [hhmm] Each to their own [hgrin]

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 16/10/2011 20:42

Reading the latest How-to-train-your-dragon book. Grin Very exciting!

sfxmum · 16/10/2011 21:07

tilly sounds fun, when are you doing it again?

kew no idea but sounds ok to me

Flubba hope bumps have healed, celebrations sound good as does the 'cake'

vbus conspiracy theories amuse me, they are so cosy with their 'logical' explanations all so neat, they should read the book I am reading by Jason Burke that is scary

copper it looks like a very good site, I sense some browsing coming on, keep meaning start some sourdough starter but never quite do it.

here all very lazy taking it easy, dh's project thing did not quite go to plan, last minute problems, and there might be another full weekend of this, and another mad week
my race might be compromised too if he can't be around next weekend, usual babysitter is away and bedsides it is too early in the morning to call on people

sfxmum · 16/10/2011 21:08

Flubba for got to ask if you ever did the face painting and how did it go?

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/10/2011 21:32

sfx - also have been meaning to start sourdough. But too busy till after Christmas ...

Spooks! Harry is in so much trouble!

sfxmum · 16/10/2011 22:31

oh dear rather a lot of trouble

islandhaze · 16/10/2011 22:35

Hello :)
Just typed to all, but it all disappeared...oh well.
We had a lazy/cosy weekend. played in our back yard (kew gardens :o ) and took a long walk in Richmond park today...
Sfx, we can babysit your DD if you wont find anything ;) My DD is going to be more then happy :) (we wake up early ;) )

Half term week is coming!!! Lets meet up in the Kew Gardens?

sfxmum · 16/10/2011 23:10

Hi Island glad to hear you all enjoyed the sunny weekend, and yeah for half term we need it now. thanks for offer I need to think about the logistics of the whole days as we also have tickets for some late evening entertainment, when we thought all would be sorted, we shall see
will do last long run tomorrow, a bit late but not much choice the a short one Wed, then rest, it might all work out fine in the end

Kora · 17/10/2011 10:27

Nice chilled-out morning. Broken sleep last night, so kind of daysleeping. Hope to make it through the day! Apparently Stone Roses are going to reunite. I still remember listening to their first album on my "walkman" on holiday when I was about 15. Oh dear, that was quite a long time ago...

vbus · 17/10/2011 13:57

Hello

Kora - Hope you're not too tired. I heard that too about the Stone Roses, was v [henvy] of friend who got ticket to their gig when we were at school Grin

Sfx - I'm convinced one ofteh men on train wasa dybuk [hgrin] good luck for running, hope DH's work plans come together so you're set for your race. Also around if you need a sitter

Copper - having an enforced break from baking Wink I'm starting to get itchy feet (or should that be hands?) how was the malt loaf?

Island - yes let's go to Kew Gardens, which day?

Tilly - lovely to see you both earlier, DS2 enjoyed it too but no nap, the journey was little too short!

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 17/10/2011 14:59

vbus, ds2 enjoyed it also, talked about it the whole way home! No nap either, but he's watched a bit of tv while I baked fairy cakes for tomorrow

sfxmum · 17/10/2011 16:17

hello all

Kora hope you are heading for a quiet and early night, shame a I missed you today but ended up going on a near 10mile walk with some running here and there

which helped quell some of my irritation, well sort of (why do people meddle with joyful glee? soooo annoying)

anyway it would be lovely to see some/ most of you at some point over the half term, you lot are reasonably sane and thankfully lovely people Grin

dh told me he will be able to support me on race day after all I was disappointed overjoyed yeah! blardy race I am not ready for and no have no excuse, still better than the sofa Hmm
many thanks for the offers of babysitting, I will likely still go out at night, some sort of comedy come jazz night thing, no idea dh booked it, will try to get nephew to help out

sfxmum · 17/10/2011 16:24

The Stone Roses last time I saw them was at Reading in 96, that was not a good gig, except for those doing target practice they were rally awful straight after Sonic Youth, went to eat pancakes instead

sfxmum · 17/10/2011 16:27

actually that was an good line up year Ice-T was hilarious top of the gangsta thing, imagine him next to Placebo

UptoapointLordCopper · 17/10/2011 21:37

Hello!

Just finished "How to steal a dragon's sword". Grin Getting darker and darker ... Such a brilliant book. Can't wait for the next one.

vbus - malt loaf is so-so. A bit dry and solid. Tasty though. Am going to try this version next.

sfx - who has upset you? Saw pics. Was that richmond park? No chickening out of the race. Smile

Half-term - can possibly do Tuesday or Thursday. Work the other days.

Flubba · 18/10/2011 07:16

Ooh you lot don't half chat!! Can't keep up! :o

sfx haven't done the facepainting yet (fair is 19th Nov), but realising (a bit late Blush) that I should have public liability insurance, which costs about £70 which would put a bit of a dent in my potential profit margin, so think it's probably a bit of no-goer. :( Got to email the organiser today to see if they'll still have me just as a craft table.

Sorry I haven't managed to catch up with everyone's news. I feel I'm always chasing my tail at the moment. Come on half-term! :o

sfxmum · 18/10/2011 09:30

hello looks prettty out, dh doing school run yeah Grin
must get on with study

flubba ouch would it be the same at a school fair? I guess that is why they ban it for children under a certain age and have huge signs talking about allergies and so on

copper the books sound good, although dd might take some persuading to read them, which is odd as she is such a Potter fan

about annoyance can't really say much here but I imagine you would agree with meWink blardy jollyfication really gets on my nerves
oh lets do this it will be fun - stunned looks when not met with shrieking agreement
