Nice out!

Been to cafe after drop off and just back. Thought I'd have an hour off before starting to chase my own tail again. Grin

LOL at sfx not shrieking agreement. Don't tell me you don't skip about and clap your hands either?

flubba - never thought about public liability insurance. Sad Hope something else can be done.

sfxmum · 18/10/2011 10:14

see copper that is what I am doing wrong

back to study, not helped by the fact that this module is heavily based online, so much easier to drift away with books alone

tillyfernackerpants · 18/10/2011 13:05

I will confess to some skipping & hand clapping at the weekend due to excitement [hblush] in my defence we had had a few cocktails [hgrin]

Flubba · 18/10/2011 13:43

Mmmh. Cocktails.

sfxmum · 18/10/2011 15:03

dh thinks I am being unreasonable, he forgets his role is to agree with me at all times

caught up with study
course tonight tired now Grin

dh doing school run yeah!

tilly cocktail do have that effect on people, and that is a good thing

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/10/2011 16:57

Q1: What to do with bramley apples?

Q2: Why did I not turn on the grill if I was going to grill mackerel for tea?

sfxmum · 18/10/2011 17:05

Bramley apples bake, crumble and so on

no help on grill early senility

tillyfernackerpants · 18/10/2011 17:11

Agree, cakes & crumbles is what's needed, or roasted apples with cinnamon & ice cream?

Flubba · 18/10/2011 18:08

A1: Apple & Blackberry crumble every time.

A2: Because you'd rather drink cocktails than eat grilled mackerel.

HTH

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/10/2011 18:59

No no no! I'd rather eat mackerel than drink cocktail. Not very keen on cocktail. Mine's a G&T, or a straight whisky/brandy, or Wine of any persuasion. But not cocktail.

Besides the mackerel has inspired a poem on ichthyosaurus for DS1's homework. Grin

I like my apple crumble with eating apples rather than brambley. Saw this though - does it look likely?

Now must go and see what the "poets" are doing about pre-bedtime tidying up. Hmm

vbus · 18/10/2011 21:25

hello all

Copper - how was the pudding?

Flubba - bummer about insurance Sad

Sfx- try to stay awake at course!

Just when things are looking up on building front we have hit another major problem Angry

On a positive note had parents evening last night and Ds1 got a glowing assessment Smile

tillyfernackerpants · 18/10/2011 22:02

vbus, oh no, hope it can be sorted quickly Sad

sfxmum · 19/10/2011 08:01

Vbus sorry to hear, keep thinking of end product
Yeah DS1 Smile

Bit cold last night course ended I think it was worth it
Hope everyone is well

sfxmum · 19/10/2011 08:03

Yummy sticky toffee copper

Is everyone having parents evening already? Ours only mid to late Nov afaik

islandhaze · 19/10/2011 10:54

Hello all!
Just stopping by to say, that Tuesday and Thursday fits well for us for the meet up in the Gardens.

Sfx, i ve got parents evening yesterday ;)

vbus · 19/10/2011 13:40

Island - hope parents evening went well.

We're free on Tuesday and from lunchtime on Thursday but I'll only have DS2 with me as DS1, don't mind which day we meet up....

The situation seems to have gone from the sublime to the ridiculous. We've had 4 inspections from council in past 4wks at various stages of project and all have been fine. But because neighbour kept complaining, the head came out yesterday and has overruled his team's decision Shock and now we're faced with resolving issue with shared drains. This been the main cause of contention on this project all along. We thought it was agreed, signed and dealt with in summer and now neighbour is saying she doesn't agree to plans even though signed them Confused Now Building control are asking builders to do it differently which may cost us thousands if we can't resolve in the next few days. It is beyond belief Angry

Sorry for rant

vbus - Shock at all this trouble. Hope it gets sorted.

No parents' evening as yet. Phew. Another thing on my plate is exactly what I don't need. Apart from edible things.

Haven't made sticky toffee pudding yet. Where do you get toffee? (Is that the most naive question ever asked on MN?)

sfxmum · 19/10/2011 17:12

Copper you make it or melt some if cheating or buy in squirty bottle

Island hope it went well

Vbus that us really awful, obviously she likes drama, does she gave much pull in the council? Hope reason prevails

At pool watching swim lesson the heat makes me feel sick and dizzy, friend nit here to distract me. Have extra child instead

Kora · 19/10/2011 19:48

Flying visit, but hope the building dispute gets sorted out soon vbus, sounds awful. Big hug.

islandhaze · 19/10/2011 20:41

Vbus, that sounds stressful Confused Btw, how old is your neighbour? and is there any way to silent her? i mean, it just doesnt sound normal anymore. how can it be her problem, if it is your property?

The parents evening went very well. I am so proud of our DD!!! She is doing really well, thinking that she left kindergarten in May, and now she is starting to read and can count till 100, write in small letters...there is so much! i was surprised to see her workbook with neat writing. we do work a lot at home, we listen a lot of audiobooks, we count everything everywhere. i sometimes feel so tired and impatient, but now when i heard that result is very good, i feel very proud :)She is still shy at school, as many other kids have been together since reception, but it will all come. also funny thing, DD2 is learning everything together...so she can count in English and sing ABC song :)

So next Tuesday it is? 10 o'clock Victoria gate?

sfxmum · 19/10/2011 20:50

island well done dd1 and you too, lots of change and the settling in is going well, I am sure in great part thanks to you and your efforts. We are all impatient sometimes and you have had a lot on your plate.

Tuesday works for me

must watch telly sci-fi fantasy night yeah

new Misfits on 30thGrin can't wait

UptoapointLordCopper · 19/10/2011 20:53

Islandhaze is sounding sinister, "silencing" neighbours. [hgrin]

But well done DD1!

Date down in diary.

islandhaze · 19/10/2011 21:07

Copper, i am a rude person [hgrin] [hgrin] [hgrin]
i never fought with my neighbours, but if one is nice, polite and sweet, then the other one can torture and use this for hers/his own satisfaction? i think its not right. And maybe some different attitude could be used. but as i said, iam rude [hgrin]

sfxmum · 19/10/2011 21:45

so island not in charge of hit squad for bothersome neighbours then? Grin

Kewcumber · 19/10/2011 23:56

we are in Majorca next week [smug emoticon] so can;t get to Kew Gardens....
