tilly - How is ds1?

tillyfernackerpants · 11/09/2011 11:51

Sorry I left you all on tenterhooks. Ds1 is fine, he had some calpol and fell asleep. GP rang back and said just to observe him overnight, if he got worse or still had the pain in the morning then to take him to A&E. But he woke up in the morning, went to the toilet & was his normal self, think it was just a bit of constipation so feel a bit daft now Blush. Must remember to never ever google symptoms!!

Hope you're all having a good weekend

sfxmum · 11/09/2011 13:50

tilly I am glad it turned out to be nothing serious but with little ones it is always worth keeping and eye and worrying is natural, my GP told me to call if I was worried and not be concerned if it turned out to be nothing, this at my 8wk checkSmile

UptoapointLordCopper · 11/09/2011 16:21

tilly - glad it's a false alarm.

sfx - I don't know about our GP but the surgery receptionists would just say " is not an emergency". To which the standard reply (from me) would be "Are you qualified to make that diagnosis". It's very wearying.

Been out on our bikes. Pub lunch then park. DS1 cycling on the pavement and on the road sometimes. DS2 finally manged to keep his balance and even cycle along a bit on his own. A fruitful afternoon.

sfxmum · 12/09/2011 09:33

Hello back to weirdness dd was crying when I left her this morning or never happens. Am at hairdresser half thinking I should cancel it in case she gets distressed. Probably over reacting but my girl usually likes school. She was being comforted by TA Sad

vbus · 12/09/2011 09:42

Sfx - Sad Call the school if you're still worried. Hopefully anxieties will pass soon for both of you

Tilly - just realised you didn't reply to my email, you're welcome over if you've not already made plans otherwise we can rearrange for next week!

Copper - trip out sounds lovely

We spent all wkend clearing out garage and started packing up kitchen, exhausting. Good excuse to freecycle and chuck stuff out though.

SFx - that must be a worry. DS when through a phase of doing that a childminder and I hated it but it did pass. Did she has a similar problem settling back into school afetr hols last year - I only ask because DS is extremely tired (still up late than he should be and exhausted by getting back into school routine) and he often ends up in tears after school.

Kewcumber · 12/09/2011 11:23

On a separate but equally scary note - I've just nearly been hit by a tree! Shock

parked the car outside my house and heard a crack as I shut the door to see tree outside neighbours house hit the pavement as it fell... thankfully it fell away from me and missed our houses and the cars falling neatly along pavement!

sfxmum · 12/09/2011 11:25

KewC&vbus no this is a first. She is also quite anxious getting to sleep lately. Where previously she would shut her bedroom four now she wants it kept open.
I suppose tiredness not helping but she is never like thisSad will call school shortly I think

sfxmum · 12/09/2011 11:26

OMG trees falling? It was pretty windy overnight

islandhaze · 12/09/2011 12:11

Hello all!!!

Sfx, oh i hope DD is going to be allright. And let her know that she has a friend ;) DD is always happy to play with her!

And just so you know, your dd has a very strong academic knowledge, and she is very smart. My DD is very social, loved the school, made friends and etc...but id rather have her wanting to learn how to read or write... i guess we always want what we dont have.

We are back from Danmark. It was so lovely to see friends, and our home...was a bit sad when we had to leave.

We stayed home today, as everybody need some sleep.

Vbus, i would love to have a new kitchen :)
KewC...that is so scary! Glad you are ok :)

sfxmum · 12/09/2011 12:15

Island that is very sweet thank youSmile nice to see you back

Vbus yeah to kitchen and freecycling always makes me feel good sorting and giving away

Called school she seems to have settled but likely chat needed this afternoon
Thanks for listening to my wobbles

vbus · 12/09/2011 13:06

Sfx - that's what we're here for. Glad she seems ok

Island - glad you had good trip home, must've been nice to see your friends

Kew - pretty scary, sounds like you (and your car) had a lucky escape! Washing is going mental on the line, winds are pretty strong

MIL just rang to say SIL has just miscarried and is understandably very upset Sad

oh vbus that is awful poor SIL, how far along was she?
I hope she is having plenty of warm support

UptoapointLordCopper · 12/09/2011 14:37

Hello!

Work schedule still not fixed. Angry

Kew - scary!

vbus - poor SIL. SadSad

sfx - DSs always sleep with door open these days, in case of monsters. But hope DD is ok and recovers from whatever bothers her.

Islandhaze - hello and welcome back!

vbus · 12/09/2011 14:45

Copper - how frustrating for you

Sfx - she was 13wks but told us at 8wks and had even picked out names etc Sad

Having Brew then going to wake DS2 then heading out to DS1 gym class

Kewcumber · 12/09/2011 14:55

Poor SIL, vbus.

Can you beleive tree is already chopped up and carted away Shock Single instance of efficient council! Shame really as was hoping to show DS - now we just have a hole in the pavement.

sfxmum · 12/09/2011 16:14

vbus that is awful, do bear in mind her due date, she is likely to have that clearly on her mind and when the time comes everyone else would have forgotten about to and she really feel it.
such a loss is a bit like loosing innocence, you might have noticed someone announcing a pregnancy 2wks after testing so I am guessing no more than 5wks along, I just shudder but it is nice when people are so confident

KewC I expect it is cheaper than settling lawsuits and injury claims

Kewcumber · 12/09/2011 16:55

with my painful and eventful path to parenthood I too shudder when people annouce pregnancies so early. You do tend to get the "innocence" kicked out of you rather painfully! I sometimes think the days when people couldn't be sure for some time were better, though I suspect people were less understanding of a miscarriage then.

My grandmother had a still born baby with spina bifida I think just after the war (she remained convinced the baby was born alive and smothered by the midwife due to degree of disability Sad) the midwife said "well we don't want that do we?" and walked out of the house with the body immediately. I can only imagine how that must have felt.

tillyfernackerpants · 12/09/2011 20:14

sfx, poor dd, how was she after school?

vbus, so sorry for your SIL. And sorry I didn't reply, completely slipped my mind Blush, plus I had tutorial today anyway, next week?

sfxmum · 12/09/2011 22:23

Tilly she was fine after school got a friend over but bedtime was painful, lots of tears, I feel sick mummy, and I think I just have a recovery rest day from school tomorrow and just stay home.
I really hope it all settles soon
Thanks for asking

Do you have a new crop of babies Grin?

tillyfernackerpants · 12/09/2011 23:05

Sfx, I hope she's ok and settles in soon. Does she have a new teacher as well?

I do have a new crop of babies, will be meeting them all in a couple of weeks. First crop is will all be turning 1 this month Shock. Am slightly fed up now though, have 3 essays left to do, just want to be finished. I may have to turn my internet off to get them done Grin

sfxmum · 13/09/2011 07:44

Tilly Grin 1 that is amazing
Regarding dd yes new teacher, also new to school apart from odd supply lessons and not with her, new TA although dd was in her phonics group last year
Maybe once all the extra curricular activities are settled and the actual work starts she will feel more purpose.

Must run and practice bike today

vbus · 13/09/2011 14:13

Sfx - good luck with bike, you can do it! Good point about due date, it was meant to be day after BIL's birthday so not easy to forget

KC - that is an awful story about your grandma Sad

Tilly - can't believe your babes will be 1 soon Shock will email you soon about meet up

Been busy getting building paperwork sorted in time for builders to start, it's all going to the wire Grin
