Hello!

Nits again. Angry Washing machine on. Duvets and pillows being sunned.

Ordered new raincoat. Bright yellow this time.

Tired now. Modern human beings (of which I am one, most of the time) are not meant to do the laundry at 7.30am.

vbus · 01/09/2011 09:35

Copper - oh no to nits, hope they go away fast

Islandhaze - good idea taking it easy with classes as they can get so tired/overwhelmed. DS1 already did swimming then we added gym the 3rd term on schools advice, he does enjoy the activities and has his physical confidence and ability has really improved. He also does football on saturday which we'll probably carry on with as he likes it. He wants to do computer club in Yr1 and as it's at lunch time so that's fine

Off to playground, got to enjoy the last of the summer sun Smile

hello

kora thanks for links I am dragging my feet as I rather she did not do classic ballet and more of a general dancing movement type of thing, me and my prejudices tells me parents are likely to be less precious yummy types

thanks everyone for reassuring stories of childhood traumasGrin I know it is hard making sense of the world.

NITS! mercy! that dance may well start soon, must persuade dd to wash her hair more often and with the supposedly preventative shampoo and most of all let me comb it everyday.

finally managed a little run, not great but glad I went, must do the same tomorrow swapping babysitting with friends
but I seem to have a serious problem on my neck, at first it seemed to be just a niggle but now seems to be affecting my ear, so it is freaking me out a little and even more because it means a visit to the doctor, doubling freaking out I have it so much

might pop to Kew tomorrow late morning/ early afternoon, weather likely to be acceptable

sfxmum · 01/09/2011 14:54

I hate it that should be, honestly the prospect of visiting the doctor really fills me with the most dreadful anxiety

island I think it is sensible to wait and see about after school stuff, last year dd had 3 classes during the week and 2 at weekend, she wanted more but it in Winter it can be hard particularly hard and tiring when they first get to grips with the new term

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/09/2011 16:44

Hello!

All day at Black Park country park. Well, after all the laundry anyway. It's fabulous. Now chilling out in front of Rastamouse. Smile

sfxmum · 02/09/2011 11:26

hello will likely end up at Kew at some point this afternoon do let us know if any of you are about

did swapsy again and went running, partner currently getting all sweaty on towpath Grin dd wants to go to pool so will oblige if she does not change her mind

vbus · 02/09/2011 13:08

Hello all! Hope everyone had a nice summer holiday. Mum is going back to Japan tomorrow, the house will be quiet without her.Sad DS back to school on Wednesday (yay!).

Kewcumber · 03/09/2011 19:59

Hi Sushi

Anyone medically minded? I'm totally confused = GP thinks the lump (or two!) on my chest is my rib Shock so he has referred me to a rheumatologist. Surely if he thinks it a bone poking out it should be someone orthopaedicy? Confused

tillyfernackerpants · 03/09/2011 20:30

Hi everyone, am back in internet connection land now Grin. Though getting to London at rush hour just highlighted how quiet Norfolk is! Had a lovely week and ended up spending the whole of our last day on the beach as the dses found people to play with.

vbus, guess we'll have to find a new morning to meet up?!

kew, no idea, sorry, hope its ok

Will go & put my name down for the night out

sfxmum · 03/09/2011 21:18

hello all

sushi hope all settles down soon, guess not long until you see your mum again, I actually bumped into her&DS a few weeks back, she looked perky Grin

tilly week sounds lovely, traffic in London always feels awful.

kewC is it inflammation of some sort? I expect a lot of these specialities interconnect, I hope it is all ok.

We went swimming today and generally spent the day out and about, off to Richmond Park tomorrow for horsy stuff and running

last few days before school starts again, dd asked at the last minute to have swimming classes so booked her for what was left a group of 10, but she will be going with 2 of her friends, the girl is now super enthusiastic about it, still need to buy some trainers and a school jumper and that will be it.

sfxmum · 03/09/2011 21:20

and the London toothfairy might visit very soon indeed

UptoapointLordCopper · 03/09/2011 21:57

Hello!

Been out and about. Bought jeans. Dinner at Baozi Inn. Yummy Sichuan food. Also bought Persepolis. Hope it's good.

tilly - I'm reading that Clan of the Cave Bear book now. If I read another paragraph about how a woman must always defer to a man and it's not because the author believes it but it's just the way these Neanderthals were, and how Neanderthals have racial memory I shall bloody scream. I'm already half way through on account of having to flip through pages of this. Hmm Hmm

Kew - hope it will turn out OK.

sfxmum · 03/09/2011 21:59

yes copper very good both book and film

tillyfernackerpants · 03/09/2011 22:13

Copper, must admit those books had never really appealed to me, that just confirms it

Have started The Hunger Games, so far I'm hooked but I get the feeling it may end up hard to read, just because of the subject matter

sfxmum · 03/09/2011 22:20

copper meant Persepolis
is the cave bear thing about awful things happening to pre historic children or something?

tilly I have had the Hunger Games, all 3, at home for a while but am yet to start them

UptoapointLordCopper · 03/09/2011 22:48

Cave bear thing about orphaned Cro Magnon girl adopted by Neanderthal clan. So far. She learns the "Clan" way which is all about the patriachy and how the Neanderthal is going to lose out to the new evolutionary wonder that was the Cro Magnon. Or something like that. Probably.

UptoapointLordCopper · 03/09/2011 22:49

Hunger Games looks grim ...

sfxmum · 03/09/2011 22:51

copper I hear the Author, I thing on woman's Hour talking about the latest instalment, read a few reviews all very Marmite really

Hunger Games is being filmed now

hester · 03/09/2011 22:59

Just popping in to tell vbus that I am currently eating my way through the most amazing ice cream I've ever tasted - it's Honeycomb, but has a real burnt caramel taste, and I got it from Cook on Teddington High Street.

You must try some Smile

hester · 03/09/2011 22:59

And anyone else who visits Teddington High St, obviously.

sfxmum · 03/09/2011 23:02

I am reading Al-Qaeda frankly scarier
but well worth reading

feel like doing away with all politicians (again)

sfxmum · 03/09/2011 23:07

Hester thank you, that is generous and essential public service announcement

In the same spirit do try the marvellous Gelateria Danieli in Richmond, the chocolate sorbet is a guilt free super delicious treat
but my absolute favourite is the Cinnamon Caramel and Date Ice cream

hester · 03/09/2011 23:12

Cinnamon Caramel and Date?! [starts hyperventilating]

That sounds like the world's best sex translated into frozen dessert. I will be honouring Gelateria Danieli with my custom very very soon...

sfxmum · 03/09/2011 23:17

Grin after my own heart you are
