how many 'living in the usa' threads have there been & what have they been called? we're not going to try rivalling the 'pears & starfruit' thread for best thread titles are we?

cali, hoping you're putting the ds's to bed.

with kids, they tend to either be really ill, so you'd know by now, or just 'get rid' then start to recover. sounds like he is just needing to sleep now. how long til dh can make it home? pants that he's stuck in a meeting on a fri night.

SuperBunny · 28/02/2009 03:59

Well done Cali. What a night Hope you can eat something.

We've had a few, Kickass. Two or three, I think, maybe more. We're not competitive so no need to rival the 10/10. Besides, that is my other regular thread I can do without the rest of MN but am glad to have this thread as my home.

ah, so who is responsible for those titles? i'm so impressed by how they keep coming up with them all the time.

i should try to do something about losing weight, it was when i belonged to a gym in the uk, and i looked at a summary of my workouts. i'd done 32,000 claories of exercise. hadn't lost a single pound, so presumably i'd EATEN that much excess?

dooneygirl · 28/02/2009 04:09

Sorry about DS2, Cali.

Must say, I love how you explained Coach Al and Al.

A new title already? I have a hard time with that. Every time I see this thread, I get the James Brown song "Living in America" stuck in my head.

SuperBunny · 28/02/2009 04:15

We all contribute titles on the 10/10 threads. My best one was 'Shiny Happy Peapods' or something.

I think sometimes weight just doesn't shift, even if you do exercise. Well, mine doesn't.

cali

we had this at our house a couple of weeks ago. I'm not quite officially phobic but awfully close. Dh is a big help in that department.

SuperBunny · 28/02/2009 17:24

How is he today, Cali? And how are you?

At least he's eating, Cali. That sounds good.

Hope Anorak's ok.

Poor DS2. Poor Cali. That stomach flu with a cold thing is going around big time up here. They're averaging about 25% of the class being sick per day almost. My two have oddly cast iron stomachs. Caitlin's never been that kind of sick, except for when she was little and had a thing for sticking her fingers as far down her throat as she could, and Colin's only done it once when he was a baby, and all of us had norovirus.

I FINALLY feel almost all the way better from my sinus infection. Today was the first day I've done proper cooking in weeks. I should have cleaned the house, but spent literally all day cooking, instead.

SuperBunny · 01/03/2009 02:40

I seem to be ill now - my whole face hurts and I am very snotty

OP posts:
dooneygirl · 01/03/2009 02:43

Hopefully your gulps won't hurt, too. Sorry to hear that.

SuperBunny · 01/03/2009 02:58

Hopefully not!

Cali - I have to make Bara Brith tomorrow and need mixed spice which I do not have. I usually make it up for christmas cake & hot cross buns etc but what would you put in it for Bara Brith? What would you want more or less off?

Ooo, Cali... I just hear rumour that Wales will be in Chicago to play the US at rugby! In June! How cool is that? Obviously, it's not millenium stadium or Twickenham and the outcome of the game should not be a surprise but YAY!

I bet they send complete unknowns though. They'll probably only send their youth team.

The Valleys to Boston is quite a move!

Fruit been soaking for hours. Am debating taking the final product to a potluck with me where it will not be appreciated or if I should selfishly keep it and home for me and Dinner
