sb, bet the auditions are just to make sure you sound 'british' enough, rather than letting bad fake accents through - do you think you'll pass.

with dh in uk, lost all track of rugby, what is ahppening? he's irish all the way, and has managed to persuade a friend to allow him inhis house to watch raugby & drink copious amounts of beer, whilest telling his mother he can't see her cos he's flying home. (blatant lie)

SuperBunny · 28/02/2009 02:52

Oh Cali, am sorry

I don't know what to suggest. Can DS1 help?

Have you sprayed something to make sure there is no smell?

Could you call a babysitter

cali, sorry missed this in a x-post. ok, breathe. i know exactly how you feel, used to be the same way myself (won't tell you how i got over it, it would make you ill if i did)
try telling yourself it's normal, it doesn't kill, and of course you'll cope, in a very calm voice. can you put on some soothing background music?

do you have any really big towels? if so, put one under ds, and one over him, witha bucket nearby for him, maybe iwith a towel under the bucket. then if he 'misses' the bucket, you just need to grab the corners of the towel, gether it up & drop it into the shower for dh to deal with later.

use towels all over his bedroom, again with bucket near his head.

and breathe again.

it IS a normal part of life, no worse than a dirty nappy.

kickassangel · 28/02/2009 03:01

cali, and having read sb's last post, focus ALL your angst onto the pathetic welsh losers who call themselves a rugby team.

SuperBunny · 28/02/2009 03:01

Oh Cali, it isn't your fault - try not to be too hard on yourself. I am sure DS2 understands and at least he has DS1 there for moral support. If I were closer, I'd be straight over to help.

Can you do something to calm yourself down a bit so you're not so panicky? Have a quick bath with some lavender oil or something? Sorry if that sounds stupid.

Kickass

OP posts:
kickassangel · 28/02/2009 03:03

and remember, cal, the worst bit of it is over now, so you have already coped, and it is now getting better, you are on your way 'out' of the situation.

SuperBunny · 28/02/2009 03:04

Cali, if you need a bit of distracting, I just posted the recipe for the Girl Scout mint thins on FB. It says it makes 100 so you might want to half the recipe!

i'm so english it hurts, i could kick the queen out for not being english enough, but dh is predominaantly n irish, so that is the team we support
(WHAT has happenedn to my typing tonigh? can't be bothered to change it, but only had 1/2 beer!)

kickassangel · 28/02/2009 03:08

cali, i knew i heard it somewhere on mn!!

i used to be really awful, as bad as you, if not worse.i still don't like it, and have to leave the room, but can just about cope without the nightmares for weeks after if i have to, though dh is first in line to deal.

think how proudly you can tell dh that you coped without him!

don't be too confident though, he may think he doesn't have to bother in future.

SuperBunny · 28/02/2009 03:11

Well done, Cali - a bowl is v good! And candle was a good idea too. Maybe DH's meeting will finish earlier than expected and he'll be home soon to help.

cali how old ar eyour boys? do they sleep in the same room? i used to make dh sleep on the floor of dd's room if she was ill, could ds1 do that, or is he too young??

if ds2 is well enough to argue about bedtime, he is not too bad. it's prob a good thing to keep him up for at least an hour after he's been ill.

can you text your dh to let him know what's happened, so he gets a message asap, or leave a message with someone in the office, asking him to phone you?

well done on the bowl & candle. don't do too much more, or dh will think you don't need him.

what time is it with you? how long is it since he was ill? it sounds like he's ready to go to sleep & just sleep it off now.

yep, dh would sleep through too, even though he was in dd's room to look after her, i could tell by her breathing when she was about to be ill, would go in, kick dh, and depart rapidly, shutting all available doors, singing to myself to drown out any noise. dh would come & tell me when it was safe, and go back to sleep on her floor.

sick is deffo a man's job, they just deal better with it. no idea why, but never met a male emetawotsit

SuperBunny · 28/02/2009 03:43

CF, ime being sick can make you feel much better, even if you look hideous, so maybe DS2 will be ok now. Just needs some sleep and TLC tomorrow, hopefully.
