I don't understand it, I just do what the book says LOL.

But having just done about 5 hours of probability I think I might just get it now. Soon find out, I have an online test to do next!

I was struggling with Combinations and Permutations til I found the magic button on my calculator that does it all for me yay

SuperBunny · 07/03/2009 23:02

Oh, Stats. I remember those. I had to do a whole module on stats and vaguely remember something about goldfish and a T-test. I quite like the logic behind it all and, if you just do what it says, it all works out correctly but it can be a terribly lengthy process. I like caluculators with magic buttons.

I have spent my afternoon at the flower show, next to a bowl of knitted vegetables

Bugger, the clocks changed tonight, didn't they?

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 08/03/2009 15:51

Yep, lost an hour

I really needed that hour today....

mananny · 08/03/2009 15:52

Did they??? No idea.

mananny · 08/03/2009 15:56

Ooooh crappety crap they did!!!! I wondered why it is later than it feels IYSWIM?

jabberwocky · 08/03/2009 15:56

Spring forward, fall back.

Computer will change automatically which helps.

mananny · 08/03/2009 16:00

Yeah, all of my techno stuff has changed itself which is helpful. Could have used that extra hour though as I have much to do it's bloomin ridiculous.

SuperBunny · 08/03/2009 17:33

I knew they were changing yet I still feel surprised and robbed. I needed that hour

SuperBunny · 08/03/2009 18:56

V good. I shall remember this

I am had an interesting choice of things to do this afternoon: Balkan dancing or Cuban food. Can't imagine having to make that decision in Leeds!

Have you ever been to a Cuban-Chinese restaurant? Dh has and said it was quite good.

kickassangel · 09/03/2009 03:21

sooo, on thurs eve it's 'fleece blankets round at barb's'
wtf?
apparently these are no sew blankets, i need 2 yds of plain material & 2 yds of a matching pattern. one of the lovely women from my rl version of mn has offered to take me to get the materila, but i am really short of time, so it would be much eaier if i just go to JoAnn's on my way past sometime. but does anyone know if i walk in & tell them the above info, if they'll understand me, or just look at me ?
may not even go, have a 1-2 hr appt with the accountant on turs am (for which, many thanks mum of, i spoke to him last week & he knows what he's talking about)

SuperBunny · 09/03/2009 03:47

Chinese-cuban? What a bizarre combination.

Those fleece blankets are where you have 2 giant squares of fleece material. You cut a fringe all the way round each one then tie the 2 pieces together by knotting the fringe of one square with the fringe of the other. Does that make sense? Joann's will know exactly what you mean.

SuperBunny · 09/03/2009 03:50

lots of blankets here

DS has one which is pale blue on one side and has fire trucks all over the other side. He loves it but the bastard thing unties itself every night and I have to re-knot it.

kickassangel · 09/03/2009 12:08

many thanks
so, i don't go round to barb's with my own blanket, snuggle down & chat/drink (which i'd hope it was )
the time change has hit this house today, none of us want to get up.

still trying to work out how cuban/chinese works? what were the cigars like?

jabberwocky · 09/03/2009 15:01

lol, I'll have to ask dh. Something about Chinese immigrants going to Cuba getting it started?

I like books like that Cali. One of my all time favourite books is a Year in Provence. No recipes but lots of talk of food.

Thanks superbunny.
i'm sure i will be hounding you all with questions in the up coming weeks.
Wish we moved last year when the exchange rate was MUCH better and more job opportunities but what will be will be. Getting very excited and nervous.

mananny · 09/03/2009 18:37

Ok I need some advice from you guys: I recently found out a friend of mine has fallen in love with another person who is married, and they are convinced that person feels the same way about them and so they are putting themselves out there a bit in order to "tempt" this married person. I can't talk to anyone in RL about this as everyone knows the two people in question and I feel like I've been put in a v awkward situation in having found this knowledge out. This friend is a generally nice person, as is the married person, and both would actually make a great couple BUT there is a marriage and children involved. I have told this friend to do NOTHING as the fact the other person is married means they are not on the menu. I got laughed off. Now I am seriously concerned that something will happen. How much responsibility do I take for this situation given that I know what is going on??? Do I tell the married person what my friend is planning??? Or do I let them make their own beds so to speak? I am so worried about it
