I just finished the old thread by accident

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 14/10/2008 14:17

wow, snow, prickly pear syrup and weird parents who diagnose febrile seizures from a book I have got to stay more current!

Dh is worried that the market is recovering too quickly and may swing independents towards the Republicans

Nice weather here and the documentary film festival starts on Friday! Yippee!!! I am seriously thinking of taking next week off just to slum at the cinema while the dcs are in school/Mother's Day Out. Have always threatened to do so and since the economy is sucking it's not like I have a load of patients to cancel

jabberwocky · 14/10/2008 14:17

oops, the weird parents should have gotten a

I am beyond at the prickly pear syrup. I have been looking for ages around here to find some. SB, you can use it in margaritas, sorbet, barbecue sauce, as a topping to key lime pie, etc. Have to admit, I've been searching for it strictly for the margaritas.

DH and I were saying the same thing about the market, Jabber. I am particularly down, having spent last Thursday in the midst of people who believe Sarah Palin is the greatest, Iraq deserves to be invaded because they were responsible for 9/11, and America is the greatest country in the world for invading rescuing them. Even when I said to look it up and see the 9/11 report fingers the Saudis and George Bush even finally had to admit that Iraq was not involved, all they said was that the media was controlled by a bunch of liberals. I just love giant sweeping statements that effectively take away all arguments against their point of view.

And people wonder why I wanted to move out of Southern Oregon. I realized with a heavy heart, there are going to be a lot of places in the south and middle of the country that I will also have a hard time living in, should DH get moved there.

SuperBunny · 14/10/2008 18:12

Dooney, that's quite worrying. Very worrying actually.

SuperBunny · 14/10/2008 18:19

I just met a family who's last name is Butella. I though Califrau might like that.

I soooo wanted to ask (have only seen it written down)

SuperBunny · 15/10/2008 03:40

Look at the moon! Look at the moon!

SuperBunny · 15/10/2008 03:47

Jabber - can you remind me where to look for making your own incense? I was thinking it could be a good holiday gift

dooneygirl · 15/10/2008 03:56

Are you and Caitlin the same person, SB? I've just had to sing her her special moon song I made up for her about 20 times.

SuperBunny · 15/10/2008 04:02

Oh Dooney, that's so funny! This evening, DS told me "sing a song about the moon, Mummy" I started to sing 'Blue Moon' but was told, "No, not that one" so I had to make one up! Ugh. I'm rubbish at improvising. It was quite bad. I need to learn songs about the moon.

dooneygirl · 15/10/2008 04:21

Mine sucks. It goes like this:

Oh Mr. Moon, (pause) Moon,
bright and shiny moon
Shine your lovely light on Kay-Kay.

We then have to repeat it for Bubby (her word for Colin), Daddy, and Mommy.

SuperBunny · 15/10/2008 04:30

Very good.

I might steal it.

dooneygirl · 15/10/2008 04:39

Colin's asleep in our room. (He said he would stay there 10 more nights and then go back to his room. I'm more than ok with that, but I think DH isn't) He has his goose that he's been attached to for the past 4 years that must be there absolutely, positively every time he goes to sleep, his koala DH bought him last Christmas he can't sleep without, his dog that MIL bought for his birthday in honor of Remy that he doesn't sleep without, and The King from the movie Cars that MIL got when we were there last week. All 4 of those are on his pillow, and there's so little room left, his face is 1/2 on and 1/2 off his pillow.

SuperBunny · 15/10/2008 04:51

aw, bless him. Is he ok now?

dooneygirl · 15/10/2008 04:54

He's been fine since he left the ER. I'm the one with ishoos leaving him in his room by himself. He really likes his nest. His words are it is warm and comfy, not like a real nest made of sticks.

SuperBunny · 15/10/2008 05:11

Can't argue with that, can you?!

jabberwocky · 15/10/2008 13:29

SuperBunny, do you have CAT? (I've let mine expire ) I can send you an adobe file with lots of different incense recipes.

I'm so out of sync - I had no idea it was the harvest moon until we got loads of luuuuney patients Monday and Tuesday

I just erased an even rantier rant, and decided to stick with a simple "Amen, Cali".

SuperBunny · 16/10/2008 01:24

Done Jabber.

When do the clocks change? It always takes me by surprise. I am determined to be prepared this year...

jabberwocky · 16/10/2008 02:06

Will send pdf as soon as MN forwards it on SB

Amen to rant!

Was just saying to dh that I'm willing to sacrifice on my retirement plan for a while longer if it makes people think twice about voting in McCain/Palin. Dow took another huge plunge today - but you all probably knew that already.
