Ooh, ooh, I've been to Kenosha. (preen)
They got it when I took Caitlin to the Dr. the day after we got back from Chicago, and DH made me take her for her lip, even though it had been 4 days and was healing great. I made it very clear that I thought going was a waste of time, and after the Dr. looked her over, she asked if I would feel like it was a more worthwhile visit if they got the flu vaccine.
I had already promised her there would be no shots involved, because we had just been there for their check-ups, and she didn't want to go because she remembered shots. She said it wasn't a shot for children that age anymore, and I agreed. I guess the puff thing protects them longer than the shot, too.
It is only about 70% effective, anyway, as they are just guessing what kind of flu to vaccinate against, as they have to make up the vaccine before it arrives. And sometimes it makes the person a little bit sick after they get it, and something about if they get slightly sick, it doesn't work as well, either because the body doesn't have enough time to build up as many antiflubodiethingies.
