I just finished the old thread by accident

OP posts:
dooneygirl · 09/08/2008 03:11

I think they're great. Of course I have a raging sweet tooth, so probably not the best person to answer that.

SuperBunny · 09/08/2008 03:22

I like things like that too but have to take the train, so they'll be out of the fridge for 90 mins or so. I don't think it'll be that hot tomorrow but they may not be at their best. No idea what else to do - they were the easy option.

dooneygirl · 09/08/2008 03:31

Are they that easy to make? My easy option has 4 ingredients. Maybe I should change it to my lazy option.

SuperBunny · 09/08/2008 03:35

Yes, amazingly easy -

butter & water, melted
flour & eggs - mix in

whipped cream to go in middle when cool

Chocolate sauce on top at end (or earlier if eating cold)

SuperBunny · 09/08/2008 03:38

wHAT is your easy option?

dooneygirl · 09/08/2008 03:38

But that is a whole 6 ingredients. 50% more than mine.

dooneygirl · 09/08/2008 03:43

Go buy a ready made graham cracker pie crust. Get a tub of mascarpone, some lemon curd (I almost always have some in the freezer, since I always make too much) and blueberries. Mix the mascarpone with a few tablespoons of the lemon curd and stick it in the crust. I put the blueberries in a bowl with another couple tablespoons of lemon curd, and maybe a small spoon of sugar if they are not very sweet, and cover it with something, and sit it in the window or on the very lowest setting on a burner for a little bit, until the lemon curd gets a bit melty. Put that on top of the pie and stick it in the fridge. I guess that could theoretically put me up to 5 ingredients, though. It usually goes over really well.

SuperBunny · 09/08/2008 03:48

You're right, mine is more complicated. But not much

Yours sounds lovely, but I can't get to a shop so I have to make something out of flour, butter, sugar and eggs. Will try yours next week, I think.

dooneygirl · 09/08/2008 03:53

I think everyone will definitely be happy with yours. I would totally ignore the tomatoes (and probably everything else there) and head straight for them).

On another note, where did you say the butterflies were. C+C were talking about Chicago, and Caitlin is going on and on about butterflies that daddy promised her right now. I can't remember where you said. And I haven't even said anything about the Lego thing that opened up there, cause not sure if we'll have the time.

SuperBunny · 09/08/2008 03:59

Butterflies are at the Nature Museum(right by the Lincoln Park Zoo) - easy bus ride from the city. Free on Thursdays (I think)

dooneygirl · 09/08/2008 04:33

Thanks, I forgot. That has got to be probably the most important thing for us to see. We got a car. DH doesn't trust public transportation. Us west coast people are awful with that.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 09/08/2008 15:17

If you have a car, the Brookfield zoo has a butterfly thingy too but you have to pay extra.

kiera · 10/08/2008 08:10

hi wideawakeinseattle - we may be moving to seattle in the autumn also - would be nice to chat

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 11/08/2008 01:54

Hello

I've been in IN again. Think it is fizzling out though... not really sure about BF tbh. Saw the Batman movie which was fab because it was all filmed in Chicago and I saw some of it being filmed. But sad because of Heath He was very very good.

I'm reading Fast Food Nation - it is quite worrying. It claims that the average American eats a burger 3 times a week.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Think she means Indiana .

dooneygirl · 11/08/2008 02:20

I was hoping you would become a bona fide redneck, SBIUR. (I wish my 2 loved Max and Ruby more, that is my favorite cartoon.) You could become addicted to fried food and sport a mullet. Actually that depresses me. The fair is this week. We keep having to explain to Colin we won't be going on his birthday, because it ends next Sunday, and his is Monday.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 11/08/2008 02:27

Yes, Indiana, sorry!

Will work on becoming a redneck and getting a mullet, Dooney. I may have perfected it by september. Poor colin, missing out on the fair for his birthday. Will you do something on Monday as well?

dooneygirl · 11/08/2008 02:33

Have cake and a small party with in-laws. All he wanted was to go to the fair. I gave him many different scenarios, and he just wanted to go to the fair with Grandpa and Grandma.

I don't really feel bad. We'll go on Saturday. At least it is close to his birthday. It is kind of hard to hit it perfectly when it is only 5 days long. We'll go to a place that has games and rides and mini golf sometime after that with some friends for a kind of joint birthday, since Caitlin's is 9 days later.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 11/08/2008 02:38

Sounds lovely, Dooney. I was planning a joint party for DS wth one of his friends, but am only allowed DS on the day (Saturday, when he is usually not with me) if his father can be there and since I think that is really inappropriate, DS can't have a birthday party. If I though ex would be ok with DS's friend's parents, it'd be alright but he's always so rude to me and unpleasant to them, it'll ruin DS's birthday.

I just don't know if I can get my sideburns like that!

That's what all Hoosiers look like though

Remind me not to move to Indiana.

at Dinner's dad. I am incandescent with people who cannot be at least even icily civil to each other for the sake of important events for their children.
