Also I can't seem to find alot of online shops - is this right, if so how depressing! I used to buy most things online in the UK and hate going to the shops with dc (16 months and 3yrs).

Hi Quokka,

Not sure if you remember me from your other thread, I don't live in singapore but have family out there. If I remember Cold storage is one of the supermarkets out there so if you put into google I think they have an online delivery service. Hope you are getting on ok!

xx

There is a company called Kenny Grocery, if I was clever enough I would put a link in. They do all your shopping for you, deliver it and sometimes even put it away!

quokka · 10/06/2007 12:53

hi Laksa, of course I remember you! I have just registered with cold storage, problem is I'm so used to Ocado that I have been comparing it to everything here.

How are you getting on, if I remember correctly your pregnant right? (ignore me if I'm wrong)!

I am not sure they are on line but you can phone your order through and they do the shop for you. Have not used it myself but know a few people who do and are very pleased eith it. Most shops deliver if over a certain amount but that means that you have to go to the shop and fill you trolley but then you just walk away and they deliver. I have three kids 4, 3 and 7months and find this the best way as it makes the whole experience much quicker when I have to take all three with me.

thanks singapore I will check that out! I don't have a car and as I go out with a buggy, its hard to steer that and a trolly! I'm sure I will find a solution.

Do you live in a condo? We are on the 18th floor and the windows are freaking me and dh out. They open right out with no locks and ds2 is a climer so worry that he might get up and fall out

We live in a low rise condo, only four stories and we are on the first floor so not too bad, if you are worried speak to your landlord/owner about fitting some locks, they are usually happy to help. We did look at some high rise and i fully appreciate your concern

quokka · 10/06/2007 13:03

we have bought the property and we really hate the metal grilles, just can't believe there isn't any locks . My dh bought it after I went back to the Uk so I only saw it when we moved in!

Well then I would just get a handyman in to sort something out for you! Otherwise you are set to become a nervous wreck.

Singapore · 10/06/2007 13:08

Quokka how long have you been here and how are you settling in. We have been here almost a year and am still getting used to the place

quokka · 10/06/2007 13:09

tell me about it! I'll speak to the condo management tomorrow. Do you know how long it will take to get a gas metre installed so I can use the cooker? Everything was supposed to be sorted before we moved in and my dc need a decent meal.

OP posts:
Singapore · 10/06/2007 13:13

Oh sorry not got a clue, we are on bottled gas but maybe management office would be able to give you an idea. But this being Singapore I am sure it would not take long!

Singapore · 10/06/2007 13:15

Oh my god you are not even over your jet lag! I am Irish, DH English and first two kids born in London, DS born here! Living in Shelford Road, off Bukit Timah/ Dunearn Road.

You have a good memory, am just over 24 weeks now so have the whole hot summer to go

Singapore · 10/06/2007 13:26

singapore we came from west London (Gunnersbury). We are just tucked behind Lorong Chuan its a new condo - hence no gas metre! Actually it was built 2 yrs ago but the previous owners never lived here.

OP posts:
Singapore · 10/06/2007 13:38

Laksa, how can you tell its summer and hot, I reckon its just hot all year round! Did the last three months of pregnancy here and it was a relief when he finally arrived!

Qoukka not familiar with Lorong Chuan and too lazy to walk down for the A-Z where else is it near?

quokka · 10/06/2007 13:42
