Also I can't seem to find alot of online shops - is this right, if so how depressing! I used to buy most things online in the UK and hate going to the shops with dc (16 months and 3yrs).

Hi there everyone.

Just back from a month in the UK, and it's nice to be back. Perhaps we should organise another meet up once Quokka's a bit more settled?

Online shopping: pretty crap all round, although I've never tried Kenny Grocer.

Cold Storage: fairly comprehensive, but often they call you later to tell you that half your stuff is out of stock.

NTUC: looked at that, but quite a small range and they didn't stock cat litter which is the thing I really wanted, bring very heavy

Egrocery: I think I tried this once but never again (can't remember why) which implies not too good.

If you're fairly new here, you might be best to go to Tanglin Mall. The supermarket's a bit dearer than the rest but it has the widest range of Western goods and the stuff you'll be looking for at first. They'll also deliver non-frozen/chilled stuff after you've picked it out (which also ensures quality).

Doesn't solve the buggy/trolley problem. My son is only 6 months so I'm only now able to put him in a trolley and buy more than 2 things at once.

Swiss Butcher: Great steak, and the other stuff is good but I'm not sure it's worth the price differential.

Good luck, and hope you settle in soon.
