Hi everyone, I’ve created a new thread as I am overwhelmed to see that the last one is full. You have all filled me up with your hope and encouragement. I’m keeping going as long as I possibly can!!

Wishing you well for the journey. What is extraordinary is that you hadn't even seen an oncologist in Ni yet. I'm so pleased Prof Bridgewater has come up with a plan - even just having a plan is better than the alternative.

I'm so glad you're going. I've got everything crossed for you and your family. I really hope there will be a miracle end for you. As you said, you have to try.

Your thread made me cry as I'm 41 and have been under investigation for abdominal pain and gastritis but luckily scans show nothing too significant (I may need my gallbladder out, but nothing more serious) - however everyone in my family made me feel like I was going to the hospital over a silly muscle strain and your thread reminded me that as mums we so often put everyone else first and I'm not going to be made to feel silly for pushing hard. Thank you for that.

I'll be thinking of you all day today xx

So glad you finally have some agency, being a passive bystander must have been crushing. This (and another thread about childcare in NI has been a real eye opener about the inequality that exists between nations)

I read through your updates last night - aaaargh, I felt such rage on your behalf & for all of you waiting for essential treatments.

But then I saw that you have decided to come to London - Hurrah!

Will be thinking of you today as I fly in the opposite direction. Well London to Dublin for me but it’s not so far. I hope you are as comfortable as possible and are in as little pain as possible on the journey. It’s a brave decision to make but it will hopefully be the right one.

It’s shocking to me that you have to do this and face this decision and journey and were so badly let down at home.

I really really hope this will be a turning point.
