My DD3 has stage 4 Cancer

We are in shock, horror, disbelief. Last week she had a sore leg and went to A&E, now she has stage 4 Neuroblastoma and chemo starts on Tuesday.
She's only 3 but she's taking it in her stride. She cried the other night and said 'I don't want to be sick, I just want to go to nursery with my friends' it broke my heart.
The implications are just hitting, our whole lives are turned upside down for at least a year. One of us will have to give up work, how will we cope? Financially, emotionally.
I have a black lump in my stomach and can't believe this is happening to us

I’ve just seen this. What an absolute trooper she is. I’m so glad the surgery went well.

My oldest daughter has multiple health conditions and as a baby we spent a month on a paediatric oncology ward (she didn’t have cancer), it was a weird mix of wards! The children and the parents were just unbelievable. So strong. My heart goes out to you and I hope she continues to improve Flowers

@ToddlerMumma

She's ok!! She's sore and uncomfortable but the surgery went well. It took 10 hours as the tumour was wrapped around her internal organs from her diaphragm down into her pelvis. They got all visible tumour out and now she has a rainbow shaped scar from hip, over her belly button and down to the other hip. She is doing extremely well. She is thirsty but can't drink for a few days as her stomach needs to rest. The pain team have upped her meds so she can sleep a bit. My little superstar is ok Star

Wonderful update OP - I've kept checking back & am delighted to hear she's doing so well Smile

Dear goodness though, the stress you have been under has been immense. Hope you can find time to look after yourself - not easy with a little one in hospital I know. Are they feeding you? Can you sleep?

All the best to you & Little Miss Superstar 🌟

So pleased to read your update. 10 hours - oh my! Bless you for having to wait so long for your precious girl.

I love that you've called her scar a rainbow. I was always told that a rainbow is a sign of hope and a promise of better times to come.
