My 31 year old husband has been today diagnosed as terminal. His cancer which had gone in July has come back rapidly and now there is nothing they can do Sad. How do you move on from here? We had his sperm frozen to hopefully try ivf but he won't even be alive to try that.

I'm so utterly heartbroken Sad

Sending you light and love, niffler.

You’re amazing.

Eenymeeny123 · 09/12/2017 20:34

I am so so sorry, I remember going through this with my mother so many years ago, she died at the age of 40. Even now I can still remember those painful week's before her passing, I felt in total automatic mode and watching others going through the normality of life when I was going through the most painful time imaginable was just surreal. Sending you love and thinking of you and your husband xx

Thinking of you. Flowers

Melonsonic · 09/12/2017 20:39

I'm so sad... my sister died after an awful illness and it was dreadful.

It sounds like his mum is struggling, but you are the one who needs to manage the last stage... If she is ignoring his wishes, then that must be so difficult...

ClondawWarrior · 09/12/2017 20:41

Thinking of you and sending you love and strength. Make sure you have plenty of calm and loving time with him - just the two of you - and the dog of course. This time is very precious. I hope he is as comfortable as he can possibly be xxx

Sending lots of love to you both Flowers

ElephantsandTigers · 09/12/2017 21:14

I'm so sorry Niffler. I hope your dog is able to be on the bed. My friend told me when her dh was dying her dog didn't leave from by the bed and then as the end became near he jumped up on to the bed and snuggled in to friends dh. He stayed there until he'd passed away.

TheMamaYo · 09/12/2017 21:15

Just sending you buckets full of love. My heart goes out to you and his mum and other family. No parent should have to go through that, and I am sure difficult as it is for you, it will always be appreciated. Lots of heightened emotions now as well.

My thoughts are with you, and I hope your husband will be peaceful and painfree tonight.

PiggyPlumPie · 09/12/2017 21:16

Gosh you have been brilliant by the sounds of this. What you put earlier doesn't sound heartless at all.
I am thinking of you Thanks

feska5 · 09/12/2017 21:38

Can’t stop thinking of you and the heartache you are going through. You are so brave and so is your DH. I hope you both find solace soon.

Yellowpokadotbikini · 09/12/2017 21:40

Am so sorry, hope he finds peace soon Flowers

Nifflerbowtruckle · 09/12/2017 21:52

We are all upstairs now. The dog is laid at the end of the bed. His mum keeps staring quite intently at him. He used to tell me off if he thought I was watching him sleep. I don't think the dog is that sensitive. She's already been whinging a bit. DH keeps making gasp breaths every now and again.
