My 31 year old husband has been today diagnosed as terminal. His cancer which had gone in July has come back rapidly and now there is nothing they can do Sad. How do you move on from here? We had his sperm frozen to hopefully try ivf but he won't even be alive to try that.

I'm so utterly heartbroken Sad

That's nice having your bil with you. You'll have to get him decorating on Saturday. Have you got your dog anything? I got mine an advent calander from Sainsbury's was about £2. Good to hear the medication seems to have helped, will the nurse come out again if he needs more?

Nifflerbowtruckle · 27/11/2017 13:41

I've ordered her a personalised toy box. It won't be here for Saturday so I'm going to get her a toy and some treats.

Yeah if he needs anything the nurses will come out. Hopefully the injection has broken the cycle though.

Oh wow spoilt dog! That's good having the nurses if you need them, hopefully not. Sounds like it will be a nice day on Saturday.

plinkyplonkyploo · 27/11/2017 17:15

Spoilt dog indeed! Glad to hear the mess have helped and that the nurses can come out of you need anything.

plinkyplonkyploo · 27/11/2017 17:16

That was supposed to be meds!

Flowers Glad to hear your BIL is there and supporting you and DH. Hope you have a peaceful evening.

Nifflerbowtruckle · 27/11/2017 19:24

DH woke up in agony. Waiting for a doctor to call back. Hope he doesn't need hospice/hospital but his pain is really bad.

Really sorry to hear this, fingers crossed he can stay at home Thanks

Amber0685 · 27/11/2017 19:44

Oh no hope the dr is not too long, thinking of you both. Hope he is able to stay at home.

Butteredparsn1ps · 27/11/2017 20:17

Hope you don't have to wait and the Dr can ease your Dhs symptomsThanks

Nifflerbowtruckle · 27/11/2017 21:46

He's still home. He's had some more morphine. They think it's constipation. The way he is now I don't think he has long left. It's so so sad seeing him deteriorate.

Thinking of you niffler. I hope the morphine has helped. Be kind to yourself.

Chasingsquirrels · 27/11/2017 22:56

Nifflerbowtruckle I hope the morphine helps your DH to sleep, and you can get some sleep while he does.
I'm glad you have his brother there to be with you at this time.
You are both in my thoughts a lot.

Namethecat · 27/11/2017 23:30

Hope your husband gets a pain free night and you manage to sleep.

Amber0685 · 28/11/2017 08:41

Hope you all got some sleep last night

echt · 28/11/2017 08:57

I hope your DH gets some relief, Niffler. So good that his brother is there too. my thoughts and hopes are with you.

Nifflerbowtruckle · 28/11/2017 12:19

I think the time is coming. He was very upset when the palliative nurse suggested a syringe drive. He's asked for his parents to come up before he has one tomorrow. I think he sees it as the beginning of the end and even though I know it doesn't necessarily mean that because he believes it does I think he will begin to let go.

So very sad, thinking of you

underthebluemoon · 28/11/2017 12:56

Hugs, Niffler. Although upsetting for your Dh it should make the pain more manageable. Thinking of you both.
