Probably trivial but is getting a real pain.

Residential on street parking, no restrictions at all. If neighbours can’t get parked exactly at their front door they box me in in by double parking against my car, meaning their car is parked parallel to me so close we can’t even get in drivers doors.

There is also a car in front & behind so I have to wait for them to move, they are parked as they should be.

We have been blocked in and knocked to ask them to move and they don’t answer the door. I usually end up walking .

Its deliberately being done now. I know this as this family have been awful to me since I moved in my home 2 years ago.

What can I actually do?

This is harassment and possibly also causing an obstruction. Report it to the police.

Adding to this: take a picture every single time it happens, and make a log of time/date so you have evidence.

It is harassment and they need to stop.

SirChenjins · 22/09/2023 11:18

I'll sign that petition.

I've also mentally noted how to draw cars and pavements from above. These are the sort of things that I wish I'd known when the DCs were little as my drawing skills were an endless source of disappointment to them.

I wasn't actually trying to be patronising and think the OP is confused as it makes no sense what she has said. They cannot all be at the Kerb and Parallel parked. To the post we who said the OP was quite clear I suggest you read the unanimous questions asking her for a diagram as it's not clear at all.

She didn’t say parallel parked, she said parked parallel to her.

And that there were cars in front and behind her.

Which is what the excellent diagram has shown.

As noted, there may be parking restrictions on the other kerb, or it may be a road wide enough for two driving lanes and two parking lanes, and the opposite houses are parking up against their own kerbs.

In fairness, FallingAutumnLeaf may very well be sitting in work wearing a beautifully colored cape and superhero mask, we just don't know.

Here she is! 😍

What immature wankers.

VeloVixen · 22/09/2023 11:26

Dog shit under the door handles. Every time.

tootiredtospeak · 22/09/2023 11:26

Do you see the bit where OP says they are parked as they should be. No one in their right mind would park as per the diagram and that makes it unclear and why I am not certain it is as per the diagram.

ohtowinthelottery · 22/09/2023 11:26

If the PP's diagram is correct then surely there is not enough room for emergency services to get their vehicles through in which case definitely report to the police every time.
The only thing I wonder though is if this is the end of a cul de sac in which case the only person being inconvenienced is the OP. In which case I'd be reporting it as harassment especially as you say they don't open their door when you want them to move.

I think OP meant the cars in front and behind are parked as they should be, not the wanky neighbours.

It's pretty obvious what the OP meant.

I am curious how @FallingAutumnLeaf knows the colour of OPs car Grin?

I think she was referring to the two cars parked in front and behind her when she says "parked as they should be". I'm not sure why there's so much confusion. I think OP is describing exactly what that diagram shows. Obviously the neighbours aren't behaving normally, which is the entire reason for the thread. Some people are fucking bonkers and nasty to boot; it's very believable that they'd park like that.

crowsfeet57 · 22/09/2023 11:43

Definitely don't walk anywhere. Call the police to get them towed away and meanwhile sit in your car with your hand on the horn until they come and move it (or get towed) My neighbours generally come out after 10 minutes of having my hand on the horn.

Efacsen · 22/09/2023 11:47

Double parking is the only parking offence our local police will attend to - usually tow away promptly

It potentially obstructs the highway - impeding emergency vehicles - someone here died in a housefire because road was blocked to fire engines by double parking

sunglassesonthetable · 22/09/2023 11:49

@Itsfridaysmiles

Presuming the lovely visual is correct. Do the other neighbours not also complain??

It's buggering up the whole road?

I can't get over this one tbh.

Everyone except the arsehole neighbour is parked as they should be. That’s what she meant.

BashfulClam · 22/09/2023 12:26

Can you mount the pavement to get around the car in front. That would really surprise them to come out and your car is gone but their car is randomly just sitting out on the road. Obviously I know mounting the pavement is wrong etc but just once would probably work. I had to do this when I was blocked in. Car park next to street, first come first served and no designated spaces. Someone always parked in the same spot. One night I parked there so he actually parked right behind me blocking me in. There were two identical cars so the other one was at my side. I mounted the pavement in front and used the space I now had to steer around him. Hope he was pissed off when he saw i’d got out.

McIntire · 22/09/2023 12:27

The OP’s car is yellow!

That changes everything

Separate paragraph, it’s obvious what this means

Are you actually serious??

Rosiem2808 · 22/09/2023 12:31

The first thought I had on this was what if there was a fire OP? Call the police in this instance. It's their job, and you have a right to be calling them

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 22/09/2023 12:33

FallingAutumnLeaf · 22/09/2023 10:02

It's a very slow day at work.
This is what I'm picturing. So they are blocking the road. Hence calling the police.

If it's anything else, please enlighten us - as I can't see how they are blocking you in without blocking the road.

Beautiful.

IncompleteSenten · 22/09/2023 12:35

If the diagram suggested by another poster is how they are parking then as pp have said - call the police.
