Anyone here TTC?

I'm hoping to start TTC baby #4 in August. Is there an existing larger families TTC thread / group, or does anyone else fancy joining me? The groups in the Conception topic don't really seem like a good fit ...

I'm 34
3 children (4, 7 & 8)
3 miscarriages before child #1

Mumof3- remind me again how far along you are?

I'm guessing you're not showing yet, hence being able to hide it...I've put on loads of weight recently so hoping I can maybe lose a few pounds so it doesn't show as quickly?! Agh!

Mumof3cheeky · 17/11/2017 18:07

Yes expensive ones are definitely a rip off. I used tons of the IC ones in the first week then invested in a clear blue and got a proper strong line so stopped using them.
I’m nearly 12 weeks and definitely showing but it being winter and wearing big coats I can hide it for a long time I reckon. Planning on waiting to tell kids after 20 week scan however they are already pointing out how big my tummy is but as it’s not out of the ordinary I can just say I eat a lot 😀 (which I do)

Ilovelampandchair · 17/11/2017 18:08

I'm personally TTNC😂 Currently pregnant with accidental #4.

BrutusMcDogface · 17/11/2017 20:53

Oooh, you're nearly in the second trimester, mumof3! Grin

Hi ilovelamp, how are you feeling about your unplanned pregnancy? How did your partner/other children take the news? How far along are you? (Sorry I'm so nosey!)

I’m sorry about your loss Mimilicious013. I hope you get a bfp soon.

I’m still here, just starting cycle 7, not had any luck so far. I’m 38 and although I don’t feel it I imagine my age is against me.

Mimilicious013 · 26/12/2017 11:45

thanks @everthing, wishing you the best of luck too hun. l will be 37 in the next two weeks and the age bit does scare me too. fx it will be no time we get our bfps. hope you had a great Christmas.

euanthesheepiloveyou · 27/12/2017 00:57

Hope you get your bfp soon, Everything & Mim - take heart...I was 37 when I got pregnant with no. 5 after trying for 11 months & then was 39 when I got pregnant with no. 6 after trying for 10 months. Breastfeeding both times so it can happen. Good luck.

Mimilicious013 · 27/12/2017 05:07

thanks @sheep , really gives me some hope

PolarBearGoingSomewhere · 02/01/2018 14:45

Mimi and Everything hopefully 2018 will see you welcome a new member of the family. FX for you both.

I have been lurking, was supposed to start ttc #4 after Christmas but giving it a couple more months due to medication I'm currently on (not for anything serious but not ideal when pg). So hoping it will all go smoothly for us, I am 29 now so age not a massive factor but obviously I'm aware of it, and limited chance to DTD with 3 DC in the house. Time will tell I guess!

EverythingNow · 22/01/2018 12:20

Thank you lovelies. I hope you’re all well? Cycle 7 was a random one for me, it was only 16 days long but AF was then longer and heavier than normal!
All I can think is that either the flu mucked my cycles up or age related - my mum told me last weekend that she finished menopause at 46, which seems so near and so young!! I guess I’ll just have to see what happens in the next few months really and decide whether to see the GP.

Anyway, I’m on cd13 of cycle 8 (or 7 1/2) now. Fingers crossed!

lucylondon32 · 09/02/2018 12:25

Hi ladies. Just wanted to jump on here as currently TTC #3, is it classed as a larger family? I have a 3yo and a 1yo xx

EverythingNow · 10/02/2018 19:12

Hi Lucy Smile welcome!

I’m ttc #4 and am just starting cycle 9, didn’t think it would take this long! I’ve three DD aged 17, 8 and 6.

EverythingNow · 11/02/2018 10:08

I’ve got some opks and a bbt thermometer coming tomorrow (not that I really know what I’m doing with them!) fingers crossed

Mumof3cheeky · 11/02/2018 10:32

Hi Lucy and good luck Everything! I have always used the cheap opk from eBay and found them very helpful. You never know it might surprise you as to when you are exactly ovulating and when you thought you were. I had a few of those Smile xx

EverythingNow · 11/02/2018 10:50

Thanks mumof3! How are you doing? X

Mumof3cheeky · 11/02/2018 11:27

Doing good Everything thank you! Still counting my lucky starts and hoping things carry on going uneventfully! Have my fingers and toes crossed for you and hope it’s not too much longer now! Does your hubby take any supplement vitamins? Never know it might be worth a try. Mine started taking them when we started trying but will never know if it made any difference xx

EverythingNow · 12/02/2018 15:20

That’s good to hear, how many weeks are you now?

I think he takes ones for general health but I’ll ask him x

Mumof3cheeky · 12/02/2018 18:43

I’m 24wks now and feeling huge but getting excited and impatient a bit Yes that’s the one my dp took when were ttc

EverythingNow · 14/02/2018 18:19

Wow that’s gone so quickly! Glad you’re well lovely xx

EverythingNow · 31/03/2018 12:22

I don’t know if anyone else is still about? I’m not sure where to post this tbh.

I’m just feeling so low today. AF is due today and I’ve started spotting, so while I think she probably won’t show today, I’m certain she will show up. And then it’s on to cycle 11 (because of my shorter cycles I’m likely to have 14 cycles in a year)

I didn’t think it would take as long as it has, without any success at all. And I just feel the gap between my children (youngest turning 7 this month) getting bigger, and me getting older.

I don’t know if there’s any point in seeing the GP, would they be interested/do anything given my age and already having 3 DC? I wouldn’t be looking for treatment but maybe they could tell me if there’s any possibility?

Mumof3cheeky · 31/03/2018 13:01

Everythingnow I’m sorry it’s taking so long. If I were you, I would definitely try the go but also would say that you’ve been trying over a year although not sure what the guidelines after having children. It took us a long time with our first one. Although not a year I was impatient so went to gp who did a blood test to check if I was ovulating and also sent dp for a sample and check. Have you been using any ovulation sticks? X

EverythingNow · 31/03/2018 18:29

Thanks @mumof3 yes I’ve been using OPKs and always get a positive. I haven’t managed temping yet though.

I think I’ll book an appointment, I guess if theyre able to tell me if I really am ovulating. I think at my age (38) it’s only 6months.

I should probably lose more weight too. I’m probably about 1.5stone overweight, I’ve been doing SW for a year and have lost 1.5 but I emotionally eat which means I’m my own worst enemy.

Mumof3cheeky · 31/03/2018 19:06

Ah I see, in that case yes definitely worth a visit to the gp.
I am the same definitely emotional eat and also did Sw last summer and lost over a stone but it has since all come back again and more! I really hope you get some answers soon or that it is a matter of time and it happens to you very soon xx
