Anyone here TTC?

SchnitzelVonCrummsTum · 28/07/2017 16:57

I'm hoping to start TTC baby #4 in August. Is there an existing larger families TTC thread / group, or does anyone else fancy joining me? The groups in the Conception topic don't really seem like a good fit ...

I'm 34
3 children (4, 7 & 8)
3 miscarriages before child #1

Brutus I started spotting Monday, and AF arrived last night. So another 25 day cycle for me! Bit odd as in the main I've had 27days for the past 18months.

Saved me money in tests though. Though I still did waste some testing early!

Also thinking of you schnitzel xx

EverythingNow · 14/09/2017 10:32

Sorry Brutus I meant to say good luck with testing!! Fingers crossed for you xx

BrutusMcDogface · 14/09/2017 13:14

Ah thank you Everything- sorry to hear af came but good luck for next month!!

I did a very stupid thing and just tested again- bfn- I know I'm not pregnant but what is it with pregnancy testing that turns us into mad women?!

BrutusMcDogface · 16/09/2017 11:32

Day30, still no af. Feeling so nauseous though.

EverythingNow · 16/09/2017 12:01

Are you going to test today Brutus? Good luck!!

BrutusMcDogface · 16/09/2017 12:09

Thanks, but I already did this morning, ha! Bfn.

EverythingNow · 16/09/2017 12:17

Aw rubbish! Sorry Brutus what are you 3 days late?

BrutusMcDogface · 16/09/2017 13:06

Two days late- was due on Thursday! No doubt it's just my body playing tricks on me, like it does when you're thinking about it! I'm usually pretty regular. Oh well, will keep you posted! 😊

Hope everyone else is ok xx

Mumof3cheeky · 16/09/2017 20:29

Sorry still bfp Brutus.
How early did you use to get your bfp previously?
I know realistically that if I'm going to have a Bfp it will be at 11-12 dpi as I had that previously too but not sure if it's generally true for consecutive pregnancys too?!
So my af finally came after spotting for 10+ days on day 31 and now I'm on cd 7-8 and I am ovulating so I don't understand what is happening but dtd last night and will again tomorrow so hopefully will see some results soon

BrutusMcDogface · 16/09/2017 20:43

Wow, Mumof3, sounds like your cycle is giving you the run around! Good luck for this month!

Well I don't really remember what cycle days I tested in previous pregnancies, but I do know that a Superdrug early picked up bfps before af was due.

I just feel like something odd is going on here because I am getting distinct pregnancy symptoms rather than pmt symptoms, but if the test says no, then I do believe it as I'm at the end of my cycle now. The mind does funny things so maybe I'm just willing the symptoms upon myself! Grin

Mumof3cheeky · 18/09/2017 10:44

How are you Brutus?
I think we have done what we could for this month so I guess my countdown starts. I don't usually ovulate so early so I guess it speeds up the month.
We are going abroad for Xmas (visiting parents) and I'm hoping that the deadly first 3 month sickness gets me either before or after as I really wouldn't want to tell them for a quite a while!
I have been thinking and although haven't discussed it with dp I feel we should give ourselves 12 month to ttc and if it doesn't happen perhaps we should stop and take it's not meant to be and just get on with rest of dc. I don't mind going back to babyhood but as dc are all quite close in age 7,5,3 I wouldn't want this baby to be completely left out in terms of havjng other siblings at school etc
Anyway I hope it won't get to that.
If I'm right calculating we would need a bfp before November for him/her to be born before September?
All my other ds are one of the oldest in their year and so never had problems so not sure how much a summer baby struggle Hmm

Mumof3cheeky · 26/09/2017 09:03

Hi All! Anyone still out here?
I can not believe it but I have the faintest of lines this morning! I'm only about 10dpo but it is a BFP!
I'm too scared to tell anyone including dp! Smile

EverythingNow · 26/09/2017 10:10

I'm still here! Aw congrats!!

I've just started the tww, not overly hopeful as only dtd twice in the fertile window and ov'd super early (positive opk cd10) so looks to be an even shorter cycle for me this month!

Mumof3cheeky · 26/09/2017 10:37

Thanks everything
I had exactly the same as af was finishing at cd6 I noticed Ewan so i started using the opk on cd7 (Thursday) line was still not strong enough then on cd8 I did a test in the morning and still didn't seem strong(although when I looked at the test stick again that night line seemed very dark) but we dtd that night (Friday) then the following morning I did another opk and that was was positive but we didn't
Dtd again until Sunday night then today cd19 I got a Faint NFL not quite sure what day I should count as ovulation as all my cycle usually very regular and don't ovulate until cd14-16 so this was a super early one and we only dtd twice too so fingers cross for you too Smile

Mumof3cheeky · 26/09/2017 10:38

Sorry it's EWCM and not NFL it's bfp Grin

SchnitzelVonCrummsTum · 27/09/2017 10:49

Congratulations mum of 3!

I'm lurking and cheering you all on. I had surgery last Sunday to resolve the failed pregnancy so now waiting a month for the hormones to die down and to get a bfn on a pregnancy test.

Mumof3cheeky · 27/09/2017 13:24

Thanks Snitzel I try not to obsess about the strength of the line but can't help it.
I'm only using cheap one step ones (as I'm too tight) and always used them. Fear if I splash out on an expensive one there will be no stopping 🙈

I hope your hormones get back to normal quickly and you can have a fresh start Flowers

Welcome EmmyOlly Smile

Oh schnitzel I'm so sorry your suspicions were right, I've been thinking of you.

How many dpo are you now mumof3?

I'm cd15/5dpo. I reckon AF due anywhere between next Friday (6th) and Sunday (8th) I'm away with friends that weekend so will test before just in case I am.

If not lucky this month, we will try again next but then take a break for a month or so as we have a holiday booked end August next year, my kids are so looking forward to it and if this month would mean taking an 8wk old and next month a 4wk old (based on due date plus 2wks as mine have all been late) I've done holiday when dd3 was 8weeks before and it was ok - it's a uk break. But I wouldn't want to going on my due date, or the two weeks after!

Mumof3cheeky · 28/09/2017 09:50

That sounds very sensible. I though the same about flying at christmas but if this sticks I ll be about 14 weeks then so should be ok.
I'm about 12dpo now and still rocking it with the cheap one step tests and looks like they are getting darker.
Life is so busy right now that I literally sometimes forget about the whole thing.
The after school clubs and extra stuff is taking its toll on me. I think I over did the whole thing letting them go for so many stuff and activities plus homework both them and I are exhausted. Especially with the lovely insomnia waking me up at 4 30 every morning!
Still I'm super excited and positive that we can do this and it will be such a lovely experience.
If all goes well I'm planning on breaking the news to dp on his birthday on oct.
As long as my nausea doesn't become too apparent before that.
Every now and then I feel like shouting it out loud so he can be just as happy as I am 😍

I ll have my fingers crossed for you everything x

Mumof3cheeky · 29/09/2017 09:34

I tested again this morning and lines aren't getting any stronger. I guess that's the danger of testing too early.
Still using the one step ones. Wonder if i should invest into a more expensive one.
I had a mmc before my 3rd ds where I had a tiny implantation bleeding on 12dpo then tested positive on the following day but then I had funny pains in tummy so was sent for an early scan.
I should have been about 6weeks+ by then but baby measerured a lot less but because it hadn't had stopped developing even tho it wasn't in line with how it should have, I was allowed a termination until week 11 by what stage the scan showed baby had not developed since previous week.
The worst bit was that I knew it wasn't a viable pregnancy the sickness and all the other discomfort was still there all the way so I'm dreading the same again.
I'm a way if I just knew it's not meant to stick this time it's fine but don't want it to drag on again!
And I did promise myself not to obsess about the line situations and the psycho in me has kicked in again 😩
How is everyone else?
I'm off to scoff cakes for a good cause 😀

SchnitzelVonCrummsTum · 29/09/2017 22:45

Mumof - if you're using the one step tests be aware that they have radically different amounts of dye in them and can totally give the impression that lines are not changing when on other brands they would be ... plus really you need to leave 48 hours between tests at least in the early stage (yeah, who am I kidding, I don't do 48 hour waiting BUT change in lines does tend to be obvious when you compare 2 days apart but not always day by day, if you see what I mean ...)

I know how much of a head-f*ck this is Flowers

Mumof3cheeky · 30/09/2017 07:10

Thanks Snitzel I did end up buying a clearblue and that's a bit more comforting.
I haven't even told dp yet I'm so paranoid and on the edge that I don't want to discuss it with anyone and indulge my worries.
Will try and wait til his birthday.
How are you feeling?
Are you over the worst? X

Anyone here TTC?
EverythingNow · 30/09/2017 11:39

That looks good mumof3 fingers tightly crossed for you!

7dpo here, nothing to report! I'm away with friends sat night so I'm going to test Friday if AF hasn't already arrived! For the last two cycles I've had some slight spotting from 11 dpo so if that happens again (would be Wednesday) I reckon I'll know I'm out anyway.

EverythingNow · 30/09/2017 11:40

I'm sitting on my hands trying not to buy tests online. I waste too much money on them Blush
