Anyone had five of one gender, in a row??

I'm expecting for the 5th time. Sadly I lost my first daughter when I was 25 weeks pregnant. I have gone on to have three dds since and am 18 weeks pregnant with DC4. I prefer not to find out the gender. I did when my first pregnancy got into trouble at 22 weeks. They told me I was having a boy and when I delivered my daughter and looked myself to check her sex (she was stillborn) and saw she was a girl, I was filled with delight at such a sad time. For my sanity with my surviving dd1, I found out her sex at the 20w scan, but dd2 and 3 I found out the sex at birth. I am now wildy curious about the sex of this baby but don't want to find out. It's unscientific I know, but just wondering if anyone has had five of the same gender in a row. Given my history, alive and healthy is the best outcome, regardless of gender. I have to admit now though, that curiosity is really starting to get the better of me!

Thanks tricky

Wow, both your steralisation and your partner's vasectomy failed. We were told the belt and braces approach was for dh to have a vasectomy as well. I'm sorry to hear your son has a health problem and all the worries that that must bring.

I am a nutter thinking I'd like another. All my pregnancies carry risks....

Congrats Imip! What did you name her?? You don't have to tell if you don't want to, of course. :)

I would love five. I have one and he is four and a half and getting to be the bossiest little thing you ever saw...he needs a sibling and quickly!

I had 1 boy then a girl, then 3 more boys! I know if I had another it would be a boy! I've lost a couple and I have an linking they were girls! My only daughter is very stubborn! Almost as if she was the only one strong enough to hold on! Smile

Juule · 12/03/2012 18:10

5baby you might have a girl next:)

I had boy, m/c,boy,girl,boy and thought that the m/c was probably a girl and the girl I had was probably a fluke.
I then went on to have 5 girls in a row (and several more m/cs). So, you never really know for sure.

gimmeabreak · 12/03/2012 23:17

Me!! Just had fifth boy in a row!!

5babyangels · 12/03/2012 23:34

Juule you're amazing! I've married into 5 more so not sure I'll be getting any more Sad as baby made 10! Also last ds took 2 years to appear after previous mc! But I'm jolly lucky to have one ray of sunshine amongst my muddy boys! Grin

I had my 7th boy in December 2011. He is healthy and a happy baby but I can't help getting annoyed when people ask whether I wish I had a girl!

I had brothers and my DH had 3 brothers and a sister so we are both used to lots of boys and therefore it is not too strange for us. We both also had lots of siblings so big families are what we are used to and we have amazing relationships with all of or siblings so wanted that for our children too!

effingwotsits · 13/03/2012 20:27

Confused
OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 13/03/2012 20:34

I would love to have another girl. I had DD first and then four boys.
I have fantasies about OH's snip failing (although I asked him to have it done).
As I am nearing 45 I am pretty sure it will remain a fantasy.

I miss having a girl around. But really I just miss DD.
I couldnt and wouldnt replace her but it does feel sad that there will be no more.

Alifen · 13/03/2012 20:35

I have six boys. Ten years between the eldest and the youngest. Eldest is the shortest at 6.1 the youngest the tallest at 6.8.
The heaviest was ds number 5 at 10.3, the youngest was 7.3..although I must say I was panicking a bit as they had been getting heavier with each one!
People constantly asked if I kept trying to have a girl..but in all honesty I wasnt and was happy of course to have a healthy baby, no matter boy or girl!

gimmeabreak · 13/03/2012 23:00

colourme - after 5 miscarriages ds6 was born three weeks ago with the cord twice tightly around his neck and a 'true knot' in it. I had an elective section through birth fear .... after the delivery there was much whispering about the knot and the midwives said 'good job' we had a section

later the surgeon came and told me natural delivery would not have been possible

The midwife came out to me three days after i got home and asked me 'how can i put it - were you disappointed?' dreadful

sweetkitty · 13/03/2012 23:19

I've only had 3DDs then a DS, would have liked more but cannot handle another pregnancy (last one was hell on earth).

We were not "trying for a boy" but like others the number of comments we have had about finally getting a boy and we can stop now.

I fully wanted and expected another DD had her names chosen, could see myself with 4 girls. Even after having 2 scans still couldn't quite believe it.

I am still in shock boys are so different to girls but I wouldn't change him for the world.

Good luck with the rest if your pregnancy 4 Is fab Grin

notforlong · 13/03/2012 23:38

I had 13 pregnancies, resulting in two DDs and one stillbirth and 10 MCS all female.

I fell pregnant at the age of 39 and gave birth to my DS, I was gobsmacked.

Yr92 · 11/01/2021 10:03

I have had a few miscarriages in between my babies which I'm convinced they were my baby girls 🤔😞...

I have had 4 baby boys ages 6/5/2/9months and am now preg with 5th which I hoped was a girl but its actually another boy!!
(5boys)
Not impressed although am happy there all happy and healthy ect but I am devastated.
I Googled how to fall preg with a girl but obviously didn't work. Or I done something wrong.

Santaiscovidfree · 11/01/2021 19:06
